  • Beautiful voice, poor sound mix

by Slink61 on 5/5/10Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 3 out of 5

Came expecting a great show. The warm up band was a special treat - don't know his name. Had to wait much too long in between performances. Corinne's mic was set much too low and was over-powered by a very loud bass. Maybe rock and rollers appreciate the vibration, but it drowned out the vocals and her words were barely audible. My friend thought it was her accent, but those not already familiar with her lyrics missed out on a lot of the message. The harmonic vocals of the keyboardist (Steve Brown?) were also lost to us on the mezzanine level. This performance would have worked better in a more intimate setting. I would have also preferred to hear her play acoustic on some of the more somber tunes. Nonetheless, she has a beautiful voice, unique sound. Too bad the venue did not provide the best sound quality.

Great show. She sounded great. The band was tight. It was better than the cd, which sounds crazy but not all artists or bands can match the controlled environments of the studio live on stage. Corinne did.

  • Corinne sings with feeling. . . .

  • Enlightening!

by CBRfan on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Corinne put on a sensual and soulful show overflowing with talent and spirit. Her itty bitty presence and big voice and emotion enthralled the entire sardine-packed venue space.

Corinne's voice is amazing. I could listen to her all night long. She also has a great band. If you like Corinne you must see her live.

  • Amazing concert!!

by musicisforlife on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of CBR for some time now and she will definitely be remaining one of my top artists. Her singing performance and the band were on point! It was a real treat to hear not only songs from the Sea but to hear so many songs from her self-titled album as well. Corinne, your energy is contagious and I wish you continued success in all of your music and life endeavors.

  • Truely amazing performance by Corinne!

Great performance. Well worth the price. Corinne was great. The opening act Daniel Merriweather wasn't too bad either. Pleasantly surprised with the organization of the event and it was a great venue. Would definitely recommend!!

  • CBR rocked it hard!

by fantonledzepp on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was everything I expected. The intimate venue made it even better. Her band was so tight and energetic. I absolutely love her voice. Will definitely see her again.

  • Artists were great but too much standing!

by ASHVIC on 5/4/10House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The performances of Daniel and Corinne were great. I don't particularly like the standing room only venue. 3.5 hours of standing up really does a number on your feet, knees, and legs! Next show I go to at House of Blues I will be getting a seat in the balcony! People start to leave early just because their legs and feet can't take it anymore...seriously. I feel bad for the artists because they are putting their hearts into their music and people start filing out.

  • terrible event set up!!!

by corinnefan on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

ok, i dont know how concerts work but still...i bought tickets for this standing room only concert which was advertised as starting at 730pm. I get there at 6:30 and waited a whole 1hr in standing in line...fine, i can understand them not letting us in, since the concert starts at 730...but then when 730 rolls around and they let us in...we find out the actual concert doesnt start until 930PM!!!!...2 hrs after....that'll be 3hrs after... for me standing up...and then would've had to stand up all during the actual concert...needless to say, i left because i have responsibilities and cant just wait around standing up on a MONDAY night!!! wtf....i'm sure the concert was great because corinne is awesome...but the set up was just terrible.

  • Corinne was great... Everything else sucks

by brotya on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Corinne is a special artist and her band was great however eveything else boutthe concert was a letdown. First of all, Corinne didn't perform til 940pm, 2 hrs after admission. People were standing while waiting, Webster hall didn't have air conditioning, and worst of all a group was smoking pot midway through the concert. Me and my wife was so disgusted that we had to end our night earlier than expected.

  • Corinne Bailey Rae was spectacular

  • Corinne sparkled... literally

    by Peaches2026 on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I had a memorable time seeing her perform. Granted standing for 5 hours was a bit much but for the price, you had to sacrifice. She did EVERY song which I adored. I was in the front so I had a great view. It was good till she came back for an encore. She was fantastic doing two more songs but some guy squeezes his way to the front and just ruined it for everyone scream and yelling out for her. I mean, from the audience, you get a yell here and there but he kept going through the WHOLE SONG. She looked so modest and sweet throughout the show. It’s like you are under her spell. Her band rocked! The gentleman on the guitar and vocals for the very last song… speechless. I’m just happy to actually see her and to hear her music.

  • Corinne was simple amazing

It felt so good being back @ Webster Hall that place holds a lot of memorys for me, But I won't ever forget Corinne Bailey Rae's performance it was brilliant all that I thought it would be and more I will easily go see her anywhere I was late for work and I didn't care I enjoyed my night and I must say Daniel Merriwhether was really a treat he blew me away with his performance, it was the perfect introduction to corinne... This night was priceless

  • A Night to Remember

by MuzacLuvr on 5/4/10Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Last nights performance by Corinne Bailey Rae at Websters Hall was over the top amazing. She had me and the whole audience hanging on to her every note and every emotion she exuded. Better than we could have imagined, this show from the opening act, Daniel Merriwather, through to Corinnes' encore held me tightly and kept on giving to my soul. Wow, wish I could get to Brooklyn tonight for her next NY show. Unfortunately I will have to stick to a great nights memory.

  • Corinne Bailey Rae awesome Live

by cpann84 on 5/3/10The Regency Ballroom - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Ever watched a favorite artist perform live, and think to yourself, well, they should stick to a recording studio? This is not true for Corinne Bailey Rae. I must say that she sounds just as good in person, if not better. Her performance is emotional, intriguing, intimate, and engaging. You want to sing along to all of her songs. She is a real artist with real emotion. Would I reccommend this to anyone. YES!!! YES!!!! YES!!! I rare opportunity i must say, but if you ever get the chance, take it. Best concert I have ever attended.
