We are here from out of town & love improve comedy. Needless to say we were very disappointed! This was the worst show we've ever seen. Thankfully it wasn't very expensive or we would've been so much more upset. You would have to have a couple drinks in you to find it funny. Really stupid material.
So I really think all of the performers were excellent at improv. BUT, I really hated the 30 minute play they did in the middle of the show. I love Whose LIne and other improv I've seen, and I much prefer shorter segments. I won't go back.
Our group of 10 ranged from a 20 year old college couple to an 80 year old couple of farmers and everywhere in between. Everyone was VERY happy with the night and amazed that these performers have such great imagination and talent! Very Fun!
Good local comedy and good seats where ever you sat
I was looking forward to this show because I have seen some improvisation groups in the Twin Cities and I love Whose Line Is It Anyway? The group spent too long on their games. The second game lasted at least a half hour. They placed intermission during the middle of it. It began as an audience suggested title, but ultimately the sequence had nothing to do with this title. It dragged on and was mostly awkward rather than funny. They were redeemed a little because of their third and final game: Fairy Tale Survivor.
I have been to improv before and very much enjoyed it. I think that the individual actors themselves could be funny at times I think they just did not deliver a funny performance. They started off doing a few skit games that were funny enough for a few chuckles, but then they started on a long play-like skit that lasted at least half of the duration of the show that was not actually funny. The skit was supposed to be called the "Jelly Races". The actors proceeded to come up with a play that had several story lines that did not really connect and never once made a connection to Jelly or races. Most importantly, it wasn't very funny. Most of the time listening to the audience you heard silence not laughter as we tried to make sense of a confusing story with multiple largely unrelated plot lines. Again, I think this group could have potential to be funny but they certainly did not deliver a funny performance.
these kids are fun to watch quick on their feet to come up with something out of simple suggestions. doesn't work every time, but that's to be expected. I really admire the ability to do this kind of spontaneous comedy. the only drawback to audience participation was Bill and his boorish friends. they thought the show was all about them and their comments. but the kids dealt with them with style and the show was very funny and entertaining. i will be back to see them again for another show!
Not professional improvers but fun to watch. Creative games with unique spins. Had ups and downs. What about a skit or two just not games? Or an overarching story. Oh and civic center booze is so expensive.
Off night...maybe?? We were sorely disappointed. The improvs were just not funny. The comedians didn't play well together. They appeared unfamiliar with each other's style and they'd interrupt improvs that had comedic promise. Give it a try if you're a gambler, otherwise avoid.
