About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

  • Comedy Cellar fun

by Halatious on 8/8/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

The venue is easy to get to, and seating is pretty good. The talent was great and their comedy was fairly clean and free of expletives. The price of well drinks is super exorbitant costing $20 for one 12 oz plastic container.(includes tip)

  • Great show

by local staycation on 8/7/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 4 out of 5

Comedians and host very funny...Rio needs to be renovated, drinks are pricey inside show

  • too much cursing

by Utahn on 8/2/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 1 out of 5

generic comedians with too many sexual and explicit jokes last guy with the guitar was ok. I'll double check the line up next time - last time i was here pre COVID the company quality was better.

  • Most of the show was disppointing

by Big Money Walt on 7/31/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

In summary, there was the host and 5 comedians. The host and the first comedian were very funny. All the others were not funny at all. I had to force myself to laugh just because I was in the front of the stage and felt obligated. I visit Vegas about 3 to 4 times a year and always book a comedy show at the comedy cellar. This is the first huge disappointment I have ever experienced.

  • Okay show but pricey

by Michele on 7/26/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 2 out of 5

Only a few of the comedians were actually that funny. Didn’t appreciate those who use vulgarity.

  • A very adult content

by Ldycanoe on 7/23/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

A very adult content! The show is amazing and had five different acts. I would highly recommend it to anyone however the drinks were grossly overpriced!

  • Good show in a bad casino

by Chris on 7/23/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The comedy show itself was very good and entertaining. It's just a shame that they can't put buts in the seats for these performers. Caesars does nothing to attract customers, the once beautiful Rio is not so nice anymore.

  • Awesome!

by Amber on 7/19/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The four comedians were so so good. Honestly such a bargain for a great quality show.

  • Fabulous funny!

by Kelsch on 7/3/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Went to the Comedy Cellar at The Rio in Las Vegas on 6/30/22. We saw 7 diversely funny comedians where no subject was off limits for laughs (90’ish minutes total). My husband and I haven’t laughed so hard in years. My fave was even sore from laughing. Not overly fond of the Rio and wish the venue was on the strip. Totally worth the cab fare to get there.

  • Hilarious

by Barb on 6/24/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Jay introduced everyone, he,himself set the mood for the evenings event. Big 6'8 guy. Had us all laughing. I wasn't familiar with any of the 4 comedians this evening ,it was Tuesday so not a big not but it didn’t disappoint. Each was skilled in their craft and i appreciated .

  • Best experience of my trip

by Grandma number 2 on 6/23/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing. All the performers were funny as hell. And at the end of the show we all got to meet Michael Yo and take pictures with him at no cost. And he actually takes time to talk to you and stuff, not like in other meet and greets were you take your picture and they kick you to the side immediately lol. He's freaking cool. I would definitely attend this event if I come back to Vegas. I totally recommend it.

  • Perfect night

  • Great Comedy Club

by Bix for 6 on 6/9/22Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Every performing comic was excellent. Great overall show. We did pay $50 for four hard lemonades, ruining the value some…. But I would easily go back and do it all over again. A nice, small comedy club that felt very intimate.

  • Must See
