About

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Live

The longest-running comedy club in New York, Comedy Cellar is where audiences discovered such giants of stand-up as Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart, Amy Schumer and Dave Chappelle. Now fans in Las Vegas can discover more future stars — and catch established favorites, too — at the Comedy Cellar's thrilling new West Coast location.

Opened in 2018 as a 300-seat venue at Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, the Comedy Cellar offers the same intimacy and energy as the fabled club that inspired it. In creating the new outpost with Caesars Entertainment, Comedy Cellar owner Noam Dworman has replicated many of the original's most distinctive features as well as its special atmosphere.

Comedy fans can expect to see great sets by veterans of the Cellar's two New York clubs along with the best in new national and international talent. They may also be lucky enough to be there for spontaneous performances by comedy superstars playing elsewhere on the Strip.

Comedy Cellar (Las Vegas) Background

The Comedy Cellar's history began in 1982, when comic Bill Grundfest established a new club underneath a Greenwich Village restaurant. With a more intimate feel than many of New York's comedy hotspots, the Comedy Cellar soon became not just a space for the scene's best new talents to perform but a place where they wanted to hang out, too.

The roster of comedians who became regulars at the Cellar includes Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Jon Stewart and Aziz Ansari. It's where Jerry Seinfeld chose to shoot much of his 2002 documentary Comedian. It can also be seen in stage segments in Louis C.K.'s series Louie and Chris Rock's film Top Five.

In 2018, Noam Dworman — who inherited the Cellar from his father Manny — opened the club's first West Coast location in the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Closely replicating the original's look and atmosphere, it has become the place to see the country's funniest performers in the kind of warm, intimate room that comedians themselves love best.

3 out of 4 were good!

by RR on 5/14/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

The layout is awesome. The venue is small enough where there wouldn’t really be a bad seat. The audio system can be improved. Was hard to hear the announcer (mark cohen) for most of his time and a few others jokes we missed (we were in the vip area center stage only two rows back). Drinks were ok priced (for the strip anyways). The one comedian, Noah Gardenswartz, was the only let down. 4 of us went on may 9/24.

    90 Minutes of Laughs

by Jsbev on 4/25/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

My wife and I bought tickets last minute when we were looking for something to do. The show was hilarious. We were laughing the entire 90 minutes. Drinks were reasonably priced (for Vegas) as well. We would go back

    Professional Setup

by Chris on 4/19/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Excellent range of comedians, really good fun sitting at the front and able to participate in the jokes 😂. Was hoping a special guest comedian would of appeared as we hear sometimes they can turn up as no listing is provided beforehand. However the comedian selection did not dissapoint.

    Great show

by KC on 4/16/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Took my friends for the first time. The show was great! Comedians were hilarious! The only negative was that the waitress never came to us. Checked on people around us, but never spoke to us. Otherwise, a fantastic experience.

    Hilarious!

I left a review for Ticketmaster rather than the comedy cellar. The cellar was amazing. Great venue and hilarious show. Highly recommended!

As always, a very poor experience

by Zekicker on 4/15/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I had sold tickets and was waiting for a USD account to be verified. I received incorrect information from at least 4 different customer service agents. And when I insisted the issue get elevated to the next level of customer service, that agent did not bother reading through what the issue was and also provided incorrect information. Very frustrating. Unfortunately we have no other choice.

    great comedy

I loved how small the venue was. It made the experience fun, but the seats were a little close together for my taste.

    Cellar Quality Production

by Sonny on 4/3/24Comedy Cellar at Rio Las Vegas - Las Vegas

I had been to the Comedy Cellar in NYC and had an amazing experience so decided to check out the Vegas location. The comics were all excellent and to the level you would expect from a Comedy Cellar show. It was of course very different considering you're in a casino in Vegas and not a legendary room in Greenwich Village, mostly the crowd was just more touristy and mixed bag. I still had a great time though and laughed hard, a lot. My only negative about the experience should not reflect badly on the club itself but the Rio where this is located is a real sketchy dump, Still highly recommend though, just don't plan on hanging at the casino before / after. Thanks CC!
