Cody Jinks on Tour

Seeing Cody Jinks onstage, you get a sense of what it must've felt like to catch outlaw country legends like Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson back in the 1970s when their raw-boned brand of country music was hitting folks for the first time. Jinks brings his deep, rich voice to bear on tunes that manage to incorporate those influences while still feeling completely current. Jinks has as much rock 'n' roll in him as country, and you're as likely to hear him and his band cover songs by the likes of Dire Straits and Pink Floyd as you are to catch them playing tunes made famous by country giants like Alan Jackson and Keith Whitley. Either way, a Cody Jinks concert is first and foremost a party, where the whole audience gets involved in singing along and creating an atmosphere of fun and community.

Cody Jinks in Concert

Hailing from the Fort Worth suburb of Haltom City, Texas, Cody Jinks has forged a sound that bears strong links to fellow Texans like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. But even though classic outlaw country is a huge influence on Jinks, he actually started out as a rocker. Long before he ever became a country singer, he was the frontman for a metal band called Unchecked Aggression in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. He tapped into his deep country roots and reinvented himself in the late '00s, but the raw, rebellious spirit of rock 'n' roll will always be a part of Jinks' musical makeup. He released his first album in 2008 and gradually built up a grassroots following over the years. By the time he put out Lifers a decade later, his audience had grown to the point that the record made it to the No. 2 spot on the country charts, proving there's still a place in country music for rough-hewn individualism.

Jinks is the best hands down

by Sperbs on 5/2/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

We’ve seen Cody 20 plus times since 2017 and there isn’t a better crew around. If he got a show within a 5 hour drive we’ll be there. Won’t miss Cody and the boys live !!! $ well spent .

    Awesome

by Kathy on 4/30/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

The venue was perfect but we had great weather. Wouldn't want to be there in the rain. Cody was amazing. The sound was beyond great as was the video monitors, not that we needed them we had great seats. One of the best things was the aisles between seats were wide enough that you didn't have to get up if someone walked by. No complaints at all!!!

    Worst Concert Ever

by Jenmae on 4/30/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

I've been going to concerts and festivals for years, and this concert was by far the worst concert I've been too. The sound guy must be new or not very knowledgeable about his job. The audio kept quitting in and out, while Cody was singing, and you could hear the humming from whatever they put over his voice really bad. The intermission between the first act and Cody was about 45 minutes to an hour. People got restless, and by the time Cody came on, the mood in the venue was not good. Everyone was very somber, and talking to the other people. We literally couldn't hear anything because of everyone around us talking the whole time the concert was going on. I'm not talking chatting about how good the concert was, the whole crowd acted like they didn't care at all that Cody was on stage, no one ever cheered or clapped, maybe they couldn't hear either, but we ended up leaving an hour into Cody's set. I was highly disappointed in this concert, I will continue to listen and follow Cody Jinks, but concerts at Ascend might not happen anymore.

    First Cody Jinks Concert

by A girl that loves music on 4/30/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

I've been a long time fan of Cody Jinks. First concert I've seen if his. Outdoor venue. No passion in the songs. Stayed in one spot singing, felt like cause he had to. The sound was off. Couldn't hardly hear the words he was singing. Lacking audience engagement. Played about 6 mini acoustics that about put you to sleep. He sang Hank Williams song and got the audience rowdy. I was very disappointed. I'll love his music but never pay to see live again.

    Great Show

by cmdrgr on 4/30/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

Cody put on a very good show and even extend his time. Venue was good, seating was good except when everyone stood. Hard to see the stage then. Audio was great, drinks were expensive however. Overall a nice experience.

Love Cody but sound quality was terrible

by Brit on 4/30/24Ascend Amphitheater - Nashville

I had two tickets for the GA lawn and was very excited to see Cody, but the sound quality was pretty bad. We could hardly hear all the instruments and most of the concert was spent listening to other people’s conversations around us instead of the music itself.
