About

Maryland-bred rockers Clutch have been a  hot ticket on the tour circuit and a mainstay on the rock radio airwaves for well over a decade. That streak continued in 2013 with the release of a well-received new album titled Earth Rocker, which topped Billboard's Top Hard Rock Albums chart, and plenty of concert dates, stopping at the likes of The Depot (Salt Lake City) and other world-class venues. The group's consistency even extends to its lineup, which features three members -- Neil Fallon (vocals, keyboards), Tim Sult (lead guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums) -- who have been in the group since it formed in 1991.

Clutch released their debut album, 1993's Transnation Speedway League, after landing a deal with EastWest Records, largely thanks to their reputation as a strong concert act. The band's growing fan base and the success of their self-titled 1995 sophomore release lead to a short-lived major-label deal with Columbia. Clutch's 2009 and 2013 albums, their ninth and 10th, were released on the group's own Weathermaker label.

  • Great show, audio could've been better

by Dimebag Darrell on 6/23/25Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Clutch was great! Set list was great! Crowd was great! The audio was sort of muffled. Vocals were too low and drums and guitar were not crisp. I blame the venue not the band though.

  • Who wants to rock?

by Deriot on 6/23/25Michigan Theater - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

Clutch is such a solid live band with Neil’s storytelling stage presence, Tim’s matter a fact guitar play, Dan’s thumping bass George’s and JP pounding the skins. They always deliver and have consistently seen them going on 30 years since high school days. Never disappointed when I see Clutch and their fans have a common bond of loyalty to the band and each other.

Another ass kicking great show by the Mighty CLUTCH!! Set list was full of the hits and some deep cuts. Every show Clutch plays a different set list so you are encouraged to see as many shows as geographically possible! Band was great, the Lynn Auditorium was nice, clean, friendly and really great place to see and hear a band!!

  • Clutch State Theatre Portland Maine

by Mountain Man on 6/20/25State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Superb Evening. Opening acts, especially Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown, were great matches for Clutch, who were the main bill. Met Tyler outside the show and he was a very gracious person. I commented to a fellow concert goer that it was hard to believe TB and the Shakedown were an Opening act. Clutch were phenomenal. I've been to about 35 concerts and I'd say this was in the top 3 for raw energy, the other two being AC/DC in 1982 and Iggy Pop in 1988. So very good company. I loved the fact that Clutch played with very few breaks between songs. They really rocked it on XRAY Visions. And, of course, when they played Electric Worry, the whole audience knew all the words and sang along. The opening performer, Nate Bergman, someone I hadn't heard of before, has incredible vocal range, and I've been watching the video of his opening song, War on the Working Class, over the past week. A great evening! The only downside is that I didn't get to bring any uninitiates and show them that authentic rock music, sizzling with energy, is very much alive and well.

  • Clutch Great - Venue, not so much...

by SueDi on 6/18/25Empire Live - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Clutch was great, as always. We have seen them a bunch of times at different venues (VT, IL. PA, NJ, around NY) but this venue is awful! I will not go to another show at this place (Empire Live. ALBANY)

  • Perfect, intimate, excellent sound, great set list

by BMWalls on 6/17/25State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show. State Theater is a great venue. Waited at the tour bus after the show. My daughter and wife with me, we all met most of the band after the show outside in the street. Tim, Dan and Jean were really cool guys. They all stopped did pictures, chatted for a few and even signed my Clutch Hoodie.. My daughter got guitar picks from Tim, she was busy having a conversation with him about his son and the band mayhem... It was great. I've been a fan for 30 years. To be able to meet the guys with my family, was the best. Thank you guys.

by Craun on 6/14/25Molson Canadian Centre at Casino New/Nouveau Brunswick - MonctonRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve seen clutch multiple times over the years. It was nice to have them play in my backyard this time. They played a killer set and songs ranging from their early days to their more recent releases. 10 outta 10. Highly recommend! If you’ve never seen clutch before, you’re doing a disservice to yourself. Get up!! Eject!!

Clutch doesn't get anywhere near enough radio play!!! Their music is different, innovative, heavy at times and mystical always! Love their style and the stage presence is unmatched.

  • Great Venue, Great Show!

by jjl.rocks on 9/27/24Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill - Sterling HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Parking was easy, Got a couple of drinks, and chilled during the opening show. Clutch came on and played their entire album, Blast Tyrant and added a few of their older songs or gems as they caled them. Lots of call and response, it seemed that everyone knew the songs and were in full voice. Second time I've seen them at Michigan Lottery Ampitheater, one of the better places to see an open air show in the Metro Detroit area.
