About

CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:

Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

Great venue to see Clint Black. Small venue, easy parking. Safe and security was provided. Awesome show by Clint Black and his band. Easy and safe exiting at the conclusion of the show. Clean facility and nice lounge and beverage services. Long Beach is the perfect place to see a wonderful performance. Hopefully there will be some more quality musicians in the future.

  • Clint Black Rules!

by Mona on 2/5/25Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long BeachRating: 5 out of 5

We drove 600 miles to see this man! Was worth the drive. Theater was good, seats were comfortable, and in the center with no obstacles in the way. Also, his opening act, Sofia Claire, was good, she had me at the first song!

  • Great Music, Great Sound

by Glendora Jan on 2/5/25Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Clint Black delivered! We were pleasantly upgraded to closer seats. The Long Beach Terrace Theater is a classy spot with really quality sound. Clint is a class act himself, playing all songs from his first album which came out 35 years ago, plus a bunch of his other hit songs. His band is phenomenal too. The opening act, Sonia Claire, was a bit on the rock side of country music, which in of itself isn’t bad but the sound was way too loud. Seeing Clint again after all these years was a real treat. Highly recommend! Downside, the gal sitting next to my husband was just plain drunk, kept talking to her friends and could hardly sit up!

  • Excellent

I bought the Clint Black tickets on a whim. And I realized that he was touring for a specific album so I listened to it a few times. There are songs on the album that I like and some that I don't. One thing I was blown away by was Clint Black's harmonica playing, I thought it would be someone in the band. He was incredible! The band was tight and amazing as well! My favorite song he did that night was live and learn. It's really not a country song person se, but I love the guitar riff and the spiritualness of the lyrics. Overall I would give the performance 5 of 5 stars. If you would ask me what I would change, I would like to see him play more acoustic guitar by himself, but that's just my preference. Also his voice was perfect, hard to believe that album came out years ago! Great job Mr. Black and band, im a convert!

  • Great Show

by Jen on 2/5/25Terrace Theater - Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center - Long BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Great venue, amazing artist, and very entertaining. Sound mix could have been a little more focused on the voice. Voice was often drowned out. Would see Clint again and would go to the venue again.

Great Venue, Great Musician...Great Experience...He Only Get's Better

  • Great Music, Annoying Lighting

by Jack on 2/3/25Grand Sierra Resort and Casino - RenoRating: 3 out of 5

Left my eyes closed for two-thirds of the concert, opening them only when the lights that were usually aimed at the audience were at half-brightness or shining downward on the stage. From where I sat, most of the concert was like driving on a two-lane highway at night with a steady stream of oncoming cars going by with their brights on.

  • Wonderful experience!

I had a really good time at the Clint Black show! The show was everything that I had hoped for and more! I was fortunate to be in the third row so I was up close to the action. He puts on a really good show and gives credit to his band also, which I feel is important.

We loved seeing Clint Black. He was genuine, sounded incredible and so interactive with the crowd. It felt like he was just out talking with friends. He played all the instruments and his band was amazing, too.
