About

CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:

Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

  • More music than I expected

    by Kw65248 on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 4 out of 5

Clint Black was really good, told stories between songs and sounded pretty good for his age. The two ladies who came on before Clint were okay but not great. The venue leaves a lot to be desired, very crowded, way extremely over priced on drinks and not at all ADA friendly.

Great concert. Clint Black was funny. He’s the best. Sings a lot of songs that we all know. I didn’t want it to end. Ruby Leigh sings older songs and I loved that. Her yodeling is fun. It’s hard to believe she is 17. Emily Roberts was good but I’ve never heard of her.

  • Clint Black was fantastic!!

by John on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue to get to see such an icon of country music. Clint Black was funny and very charming. He sounds as good as he did 35 years ago and put on a wonderful concert. His opening acts were very good as well. I highly recommend seeing him if given the opportunity. It was a great evening of live country music from one of the best artists of my generation.

  • St. Charles, MO Concert Review

by Jean R. on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 5 out of 5

I have never seen Clint perform live before, but am so glad I chose to check seeing him in concert off my bucket list. It was a PERFECT concert. Clint's vocals haven't wavered one bit with the passage of time. The bandmembers are all excellent musicians (I loved hearing them featured one at a time in "All Tuckered Out"). It was an intimate performance in that there weren't crazy lazer shows and dance moves. It was simply a beautiful concert with a perfectly executed setlist. The volume level was just right, my ears didn't hurt as I left the concert. Clint seems like such a genuine person. It was truly amazing!

  • all three entertainers were great

by Alice on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 5 out of 5

It was great. we had floor seats and nothing more aggravating about people standing in front of you blocking your view. They should be told to sit down or have to leave!

  • Meh.

by dadondemand on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 3 out of 5

Not surprisingly, Clint's voice has lost that mellow timbre that so attracted me to "De-electrified". Certainly no fault of his, and not my main complaint. 1. Venue - Family Arena in St Charles, MO has terrible acoustics. 2. No live video feed? Instead, we were subjected to non-stop video clips that were more distracting than entertaining. 3. Mixing. Whoever was running the board seemed to have no clue as to which band member was soloing or should have been featured. Still, Clint played all the favorites, was mildly engaging, and his band displayed a high level of musical talent. Wouldn't go again, but glad I did this time.

  • A lovely evening!

by Michelle on 4/15/25Family Arena - Saint CharlesRating: 5 out of 5

Was a wonderful time! The two performers opening up for him were so enjoyable . Emily Ann Roberts is a great entertainer. Perfect fit for Clint Black. His show was so much fun . He was so engaging. I would be surprised if there was anyone there that would disagree. Also, the Venue was perfect. Thank you.

What a super fantastic concert. Sang every song, engaged the audience. Even watch him photobomb a couple and made their day. His Willie story was hilarious. I can’t wait for him to come back
