CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:
Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

Fantastic show! No big frills. Just years of consistent hits!
Clint was as good as ever, and a bonus was his beautiful wife and daughter! Great humor, great stories, and excellent musicians!
Clint put on an amazing show! Along with his wife Lisa and daughter Lily. They all sounded so great and I’m glad me and my friend got to share the experience of it together!
The Clint Black concert brought some history of country with some modern concepts. I enjoyed watching and listening to him sing with his wife and daughter. Bringing in some pictures and songs from country legends of the past was a good touch. I like the variety in the presentation.
The show was excellent. Theater is beautiful. The only issue is you have to walk down into the deep caverns of Birmingham for restrooms, i think i walked down then back up 100 flights of stairs (probably more like 5 to 8). Next time i will buy tickets on the floor.
Great evening! Clint Black sounds as great as ever. Very personable, funny. Great interaction with the audience but not too much talking. Covered so many hit songs. His wife and daughter were awesome as well. Alabama Theater was a perfect venue. Great acoustics, beautiful building. Enjoyed every part of the show!
What an awesome show!! Love how he brings his wife and daughter to sing with him!! Family goals for sure!!
Great show. The pace was just right. The music and musicians were amazing. The Alabama Theatre is the best! Clint Black and his family and crew delivered!
Clint still sounds great!! Great musicians with him! Enjoyed it very much! I will say the video running behind him was a bit much in the small venue.
I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the theater. It was easy to get in and get out and the concessions were running smoothly. Food and drinks were reasonably priced too. Clint Black played most all of his best hits and was extremely interactive with the crowd. He just seems like a genuinely, nice family man. My only complaint is I wish the country music crowd would stand up and dance a little more. I’m used to going to widespread panic concerts where EVERYONE, no matter the age, is up and dancing the entire time. I don’t expect that at a concert like this, but when a few of my favorite songs were played I wanted get up and jam out! Regardless, my wife and I had a great time and we really enjoyed ourselves.
I love Clint Black and it was sweet he brought his talented family but I felt like one song with them would have been enough. I also found the coffee ads highly annoying and opportunistic. I know they have to make a living but I’d pay to see him anytime & the rest of band too. Other than that I really loved the show!
Great music to a sold out event in the great Alabama Theater!
In a day of glitz and glamour, watching a legend perform reminded me of how far country music has fallen.
I was not familiar with Clint Black's music. I went with a friend. He put on a great concert. He was very personable, witty, and humorous, even self-deprecating. It was a very fun concert. And his music was very enjoyable. The time went by too quickly.
What can I say over two hours of continuous hits! Clint Black sounded the exact same as his records from yesteryear. It was lively and energetic just wish there was room to do some country dancing…lol. The venue was clean, well organized, fully stocked with your drinks of choice and the event staff were very helpful. Two thumbs up 👍
Clint Black put on an amazing show in Lake Charles!!
Great show by a classic country artist. He remains a productive and super entertaining musician but also is a wonderful story teller who connects with the audience in a very personal way throughout the entire show. And Penns Peak is the perfect venue as there is literally not a bad seat in the house.
We ate dinner prior to the show. We have never been to this venue before, but will definitely attend again with the right artists. There is no bad view in this venue. Everyone has a great seat.
PENN'S PEAK IS GREAT VENUE FOR A CONCERT! NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE!
Clint Black was a great concert. The venue was the best I have ever been to. I’ve been to concerts in Philly, Vegas, Atlantic City and Nashville.
