CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:
Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

Great show , Songs were great , venue was excellent. couldn't have ask for better.
Clint was simply outstanding! Great performance, great evening! When he comes back to the northwest, I'll be back!
I took my wife for her birthday, this was her thing more than mine ( im a little more rock ) but I thought the show was pretty good and entertaining. my wife had a blast !! nice job Clint
Great Musican, Great entertainer...Great band. The concert was a special gift to my mom. She loved it!
The SEXY,SUAVE, and DOWNRIGHT LUCIOUS Clint Black, was more than I can find words to describe. The concert just blew me away. I LOVED the intimacy of the showroom at the EQC. This was the first concert that I have gone to at this venue. My seats were to the left of the stage, 4 rows back. I have always been a big Clint fan, but now this love affair has grown even bigger. I can't wait for him to return to the Seattle/Tacoma area. I will be one of the first to get concert tickets again.
Clint Black put on an awesome concert. He played his newer hits and brought back the oldies but goodies. Would love to see him again.
Clint and his band were incredible- completely laid back and intimate venue! We were so pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the seats and smallness of the auditorium. The acoustics were great and we really had a blast! Thanks Clint! And thanks to the Emerald Queen! Great Concert!
Clilnt has been a favorite for a long time. Especially since my daughter fell in love with him at age 8! She is now 24 and went with me to the concert and said her love has never changed and he will always be her first crush! His voice is as smooth now as it ever was. How can you not be taken in by those smiling eyes, warmth that is genuine and a GREAT easy sense of humor that effortlesslyl flowed out into the audience.
From the minute he came on stage till he walked off his performance was amazing. I love the way he joked with the crowds and played the different instruments and wow it was beautiful the way he played the drums and let his crew show off their talent. I bought the tickets for a surprise for my husband who only been to one concert in his lifetime. He is a fan of Clint and sings his songs all the time and have heard by many that he sounds so much like him. He was so excited and loved every minute of the show. We both cannot wait till he comes back and for sure we will be their.
We were skwintin with Clinton .tellin stories .and havin a good'ol time. YEE-HA
I enjoyed the show from start to finish. Clint was personable and gracious toward the crowd. Truly a talented entertainer.
From beginning to end Clint had the entire audience involved, from singing along, to clapping and laughter at his folksy stories and jokes. When the concert had ended he came back to do several more songs. All in all it was very enjoyable from the first song to the last, and I would recommend it highly to anyone who loves true country music, or is looking for great music from a wonderful entertainer.
I have seen Clint Black many a time, but this was one of the best shows of his that I have seen yet. It is truly sad that he isn't play on the airwaves much anymore. He is so much better than 99% of the so called musicians out there. This man is a true musician as are all of the people in his band. I will go see him over and over again, it was a concert worth seeing. He has been one of my top five (5) artists since he came out 20 yrs ago. Man can he play the harmonica too...
Once the show got started, it was great. They were 15 minutes late in getting started, but did an hour and forty-five minute set. Clint was awesome singing many of his famous songs. Band was really good. Loved the piano player. An unexpected moment was when Clint played the drums and let another band member play and sing his song. I never knew Clint was a drummer, but why not, he's a multi-talented entertainer. The only negative criticism I have is that he had no CD's for sale. I had anticipated getting one of his newer songs. That was surprising that he only had T-shirt, a baseball hat and deck of cards with his name on them. Oh...also, I've gott many square keychains from other country concerts, and I was hoping to get one of his to add to my collection. I spent less $$ which is good, and overall the concert was a fun time! If you're a Clint Black fan, you'll love it!
From the opening set to third encore, Clint and his band were great! In additrion to being a great musician, he is a great entertainer - lots of stories and audience interaction. Can't wait to see him when he comes back to town. As for the venue, I'm not a big fan of the Emerald Queen Casino. I'd prefer if he could play in a facility where you don't have to walk through 300 yards of rancid cigarette smoke to get to the show. I was thoughly buzzed by the time I took my seat.
Clint Black is a decent man, who just happens to be a terrific singer and song writer. I admire his sense of humor, which he shows throughout his performance. I love the fact that he told the audience his band is 'clean', meaning no drugs, which is the only way he would allow them to be. Country, and Clint, represent what's right with our country, in a time when so much is falling apart. My favorite of all his songs is "When I Said I Do", which he sings with his wife, and because she couldn't be with him in Tacoma WA, he didn't sing. This song is obviously very meaningful to him and he wouldn't sing it without her. I love this ethic! He is terrific!
Great fun seeing Clint Black last night at the Emerald Queen Casino, starting with his introduction to the audience by his daughter Lily. He has brought new folks into his band that now include a fiddle player and saxophonist and rearranged a number of his old hits into a really great style. He was engaged and looking happy to be there and his enthusiasm welled into the crowd as he invited us to sign with him...even to just his harmonica! He ended up with Desperado (he's so good at that song) and then played a little Steely Dan for us with him on the drums! Only drawback is the venue. Chairs sitting on one level makes it hard to see around everyone's head. The TV screens help somewhat but a little elevation on that floor would do wonders!
From opening song to final encore (nearly a two-hour performance) we were thoroughly entertained by Clint Black and band. Mr. Black performed fan favorites and some less well known, telling stories (and a few tall tales) on the inspiration for writing the songs. The experience in the Emerald Queen Casino venue is intimate and personal, unlike the Clint Black concert we attended several years ago in an arena. What we got was so much more than a concert, Clint connected with the audience and created a memorable evening.
This was my 6th time seeing Clint Black perform. His music has great messages! My friends & I were so excited to have premium row pe-sale KMPS seats but wished we could have got the hat purchased autographed too. Thanks for bringing back to the northwest! --one of Clint's biggest fans
I'm not a country fan...I got the tickets for my husband, who is a big Clint Black fan. We both had a fabulous time! Clint is a great performer and it was an amazing show. It was fun to see him in a small venue where he could interact with the audience a bit. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone...country fan or not.
