About

CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:

Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

He was wonderful! One of the most gracious man I have seen on stage. He appreciates not only the audience & his band, but also his stage hands. Pure country gentleman!T

  • Clint is cool

We enjoyed seeing Clint and crew up close at Billy Bob's in Ft. Worth. He's got a friendly, laid-back style and gives a smooth performance. Some of his bigger hits are so well known that the crowd often sang along with him. Clint obviously has an amazing talent for song writing and performing and his band provided excellent backup. We hope to hear more from the new man in black.

  • Clint Black is awesome.

This was not my first time to see his show, as I have met him in person with backstage access. He is truly a great performer/entertainer and I look forward to seeing him again.

  • Disappointed in Clint Black and Billy Bobs

    by Disheartened1 on 10/18/09Billy Bob's - Fort WorthRating: 2 out of 5

To begin, the stage sits so far back from the majority of the crowd I could not even see the performers or the stage. Second, Clint performed for a mere hour and a half, at most! Finally, I could barely hear the songs over the crowd, which was not countless for the capacity. My advice to Billy Bobs: Re-locate the stage so the crowd experiences a real concert! My advice to Clint: Get off your stool and your voice may carry over a crowd! Thank you for asking, Ticketmaster.

Loved this show- Clint Black really shows how talented he is, playing several guitars and even the drums for one song! Vocally he was excellent and played several of his greatest hits, throwing in a few good stories about them here and there. Overall a great show, I would love to go again!

The show was non-stop entertainment. Clint along with his band were great. I never realized what a great sense of humor he has. Not only can he sing but plays several instruments very well. The drum playing was a big surprise. Thsi is the second time I have seen his show and I enjoyed even more this time.

I have listened to Clint Black for several years but never had the chance to see him in concert. Being at a Clint Black concert was unforgettable; the music, the band, being outdoors, and the back ground of the mountains during sunset. OMG it was just a great experience. Can't wait for him to be in town again!!

  • A great intimate concert!!

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. Clint is our favorite male country western artist. The Quality of the proformance was top-notch, the varity of songs and ballads, were great, with a surprize encore!! we were impressed with their stamnia, despite the outdoor venue, with HIGH humidity, due to the Hurricane, south of the border. We reccomend that Clint books at the FantasySprings, or Spotlight 29, or Aqua Caliente, next year. (we live in La Quinta) We have really enjoyed concertsat. those venues

  • Cling hasn't lost it !

Clint sang RIGHT ON KEY and his band played just as well ! He sounded just like his recordings. He was very entertaining and he blew me away with his talanted harmonica playing. So glad to have attended his concert.

  • Clint Black is so talented!

by Leina on 9/5/09The Arena - Soboba Casino - San JacintoRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed this show so much. Clint Black is very personable, really connected with the audience. His whole band is very good and the show ran smoothly. Clint has a range of musical talent, including harmonica and drums! The audience was of all ages, surprisingly so. The only criticism I have is of the venue. Tiny chairs crammed together, we were the only ones in our row who were not obese and we were literally squeezed from both sides. This seems even more ridiculous, since this show was far from sold out. I liked the gambling at Soboba, but the arena seating was way too uncomfortable for me to want to return for a show.

  • Clint Black at Soboba

by OCKATE on 9/5/09The Arena - Soboba Casino - San JacintoRating: 4 out of 5

What a great performer! Clint Black is energetic, engaging, happy and obviously loves what he does! The band was equally professional, very together. Lead guitar player Hayden is the bomb!

The night at Soboba Casino was a litle on the warm side, but the show was hot once Clint Black started his set. Laced with his witty humor and hit after hit after hit, the show was amazing! Sorry his wife Lisa couldn't be there to sing a duet with him, but "She must have known it was going to be 120 degrees!" My family of two adults and three kids had a great time and even caught a few of the star's guitar picks for souvenirs. A nice intimate setting that was pure Black. Thanks Clint!

He is funny, talented, and all around a great performer. However, I won't be going to Soboba again...been twice and it is just too far.

  • Clint Black a Great Talent

by Nemodrox on 9/5/09The Arena - Soboba Casino - San JacintoRating: 5 out of 5

Clint had atleast 5 different guitars, played several times the guitar and the harmonica at the same time, had 4 guitars on stage (including him and 1 base) a piano, a fiddle, and a saxaphone, and of course a drums. I was impressed with the talent on stage. At the end he actually went over and played the drums for a Steely Dan song, did a great job at that to. He was witty and funny. He had fun and the crowd did to, nice interaction. I would go see him again, and will be looking for him the next time he comes to town! I would say "You Rock" , but you "You Country" DUDE! Great show!!!!!!

  • Clink Black Concert, Soboba Casino 9/4/09

Clint Black puts on a terrific, energized concert. He was "into" his audience from the get-go and never slowed down. His group of musicians were also enjoying the concert as much as Clint looked like he was enjoying the concert. This guy was good!

  • I'm not a big fan

by HDWG on 8/24/09Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

I went because my wife is a big fan. I was pleasantly surprised. Clint was very entertaining and spoke quite a bit with the audience. I guess my only complaint is that the show was only about 100 minutes long. Of the three shows we've seen at the EQC this one sounded the best.

  • Black's still got it!

    by CBFAN4EVR on 8/24/09Emerald Queen Casino - TacomaRating: 4 out of 5

Clint Black concert at Emerald Queen Casino was great. He definately still has what it takes to give a great performance. His talents as an entertainer cease to amaze me. He keeps the crowd involved and can make people want to jump up and dance! His vocals and talents with various instruments are tremendous. I had no idea he even played the drums until they played an old Steely Dan song. The guy is just great and I would see him again anytime. The venue was very good and had great accoustics.
