About

CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT:

Country superstar Clint Black knows a thing or two about penning a catchy tune – he's got more than 20 No. 1 singles under his belt, and his hit-filled live shows have the feel of a greatest hits tour. It makes him something of a maverick in a genre where many artists record music written by other songwriters. Black has spent the bulk of his career singing his own songs, and it's served him well. His penchant for witty puns and clever turns of phrase is on full display in concert – both in the lyrics of favorites like "A Better Man" and during his amusing between-song banter. With his warm baritone voice, killer harmonica playing, and catalog of clever-mouthed hits, Clint Black is a must-see for ticket buyers who like their classic country served straight-up.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Clint Patrick Black was born in New Jersey but raised in the Houston suburb of Katy, TX. He grew up playing music with his family, and by his teens he had serious chops on both the guitar and the harmonica. Black cut his teeth as a singer performing with his brothers in a family band, and he eventually dropped out of high school to play music full-time. He spent the bulk of the '80s working odd jobs while moonlighting as a country performer, and in 1989 he got his big break when RCA signed him and released his debut album Killin' Time. The record spawned five consecutive country No. 1s, making him a star overnight and earning him several Academy of Country Music Awards including Album of the Year and Top Male Vocalist. His chart run continued in the '90s with a string of Top 10 albums and chart-topping hits like "A Good Run of Bad Luck" and "Nothin' But the Taillights." Black parted ways with RCA in the early '00s and took a few years off to start a family, and in 2004 he returned with his eighth album Spend My Time, which he released on his own label Equity Music Group. Critics hailed the album as his most adventurous outing to-date, and Black has remained prolific ever since, consistently delivering both in the studio and on tour.

  • Tracy Lawrence and Clint Black were AWESOME!!!

    by ddl1972 on 8/21/10Coushatta Casino Resort - KinderRating: 5 out of 5

I havent seen either of them since the early 90's and they are still amazing. I wish Tracy would have performed a little longer. Clint did alot of his hit songs and so did Tracy.

Very good concert! Atmosphere was great and seats were pretty good. Both artist sounded great! Only distraction was some people hollering at the top of their lungs 20 rows behind us... Not even singing the songs but just hollering... Overrall though great place, Two amazing artist and a great time!!

  • Still the same solid show

I enjoy Clint in concert, but the show is about the same as last time I saw him probably 10 years ago. Where's the new music, Clint?

  • Clint Black great singing!!

I brought my 13 year old daughter to her first concert. We drove from Rochester ny to Rome ny to see Clint Black under the stars. Weather cold but great (no rain). Clint Black is a great story teller. He is very funny. He is a great singer. His band is very talented too. My daughter and I loved the concert. The only reason I would give it 4 stars vs 5 stars it was too short. I could listen to him sing all night. It was worth the drive. Would I go again ...the answer is YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is great !!!!!!!!!! Thank you Clint Black for making my daughters first concert a great moment in her life and mine!!!!!!!

Excellent concert! If you want to see a very talented musician and a true cowboy, go see Clint Black. Great music, great voice, great venue. I would definitely go again!

  • Clint Black was amazing as usual...

This concert couldn't have been better. What made it really great was they oversold the grandstand seats and had to send my wife and I down front to fill up some of the open seating there. =)

The show was great. The only problem was that I was sitting near the back of the grand stand and there was too much noise from inside the Casino. Other than that it was a great night

  • Clint Black--Amazing!

by PMech on 8/7/10Tioga Downs - NicholsRating: 5 out of 5

Still rockin' the country set, Clint was as good as any act I have seen. Mixed in jokes, anecdotes & quips seamlessly into the performance. Played for about an hour and a half with no warm up band. Surprised us all with a closing cover of an Steely Dan tune, with Clint on the drums! A good time was had by my wife and me. If you like Clint, you'd love him live!

  • Relaxing Show

by CarrieFWayne on 8/7/10Vernon Downs - VernonRating: 4 out of 5

Clint Black did a great job -- he's very professional & down-to-earth. The volume of the music didn't overpower the lyrics & he was easy to understand while singing. Sounded live just like he did on his CDs. First time seeing anything at Vernon Downs; I think the people down by the stage had a better show though than those of us in the Grandstands -- the "house lights" were on the whole time & it was distracting -- made me feel a little disconnected from the show. . . but that's not CB's fault. I'd see him again.

It was fun, he played some great songs! I would definitely go see him again.

Great show. Seating was okay but hard to see. The camera phones are getting out of hand.

Clint Black was just as I'd hoped he'd be......great voice, calm demeaner, great songs, personable......everything he seems to be, he is......in a nutshell, he's genuine!

Clint Black does not seem to come around AZ much so when we found out that he was going to be at The Talking Stick Resort we got tickets right away. We could not have gotten better seats if I would have been able to pick any seat I wanted. His show did not disappoint us at all. The 2 hour show was just GREAT the music his little stories and all the guys in the band. I sure hope he plans to play more in Arizona in the furture.

  • Clint was very entertaining!!!!

My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves and Clint kept us entertained through out the whole show, he is not only a talented singer, but he can also be funny, and that's what made the show worth the money. Thanks Clint for helping us celebrate our 20th ann.

Clint Black is an extrordinary talent with an amazing band. Every song was a top ten hit. It was a small venue so he was able to interact with audience and really connect. We had a great time!!!
