About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

    Clay Aiken: Beyond Talented

by Anonymous on 3/13/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Clay Aiken performed at the Progress Energy Center in Raleigh, NC on Friday, March 12, 2010. This special concert was taped and will later air this June on PBS. To say this show was outstanding would be an understatement. Clay Aiken is the consummate performer. From his incredible powerhouse voice to his witty personality, Clay knows how to entertain an audience. This show's professionalism was top notched. From the staging and the lighting to the band and orchestra, it is obvious that much time and energy went into making this show a true success. I would highly recommend seeing this concert once it airs this June on PBS.

Clay was just over the top in voice, appearance, personality. The music and the arrangements and Clay's incredible voice benefited all the songs. The songwriters would have been proud of him. Can't wait to purchase this new CD and hopefully he will tour again. Amazing in all rites. Can you tell I loved the show?

    Clay Aiken=Tried & True

by CantaCheTiPasa45 on 3/13/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Friday evening, Clay Aiken gave New Life to Old Favorites on his new album "Tried and True" at a special one night concert at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium. Thousands of Clay fans from all over the U.S. and three other countries and many Raleigh residents who had never seen Clay perform "live" cheered for three and half hours with no intermissions to each song that Clay delivered with perfection---each song better than the one before. There was additional excitement added to the performance, knowing that it was being taped for a PBS production coming this summer. Yea! The world is going to get the pleasure of seeing the marvel of this dynamic entertainer, Mr. Clay Aiken---------and they will love him!, I promise you that!

    Clay Aiken is SPECTACULAR!!

by heartofclay on 3/13/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Clay was positively amazing ... it was such fun to have Ruben Studdard as a guest on the stage, and fascinating to see how a concert is taped for television broadcast at a later date. I always say that the last Clay concert I attended was "the best yet", and that remains true. Clay debuted songs for his next CD, and I cannot wait to have it. His rendition of "Unchained Melody" brought tears to my eyes - it was that beautiful! Along with that song, he has revised so many standards and made them "his own". Truly one of the greatest voices ever!!

Clay has hit his genre full force.

by GMTorre on 3/13/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

This was an incredibly entertaining experience. Reuben and the other guests provided a welcomed addition to those of us that were that this production included others and was being recorded for a PBS viewing later this year. Clay was in hi comfort zone and in superb vocal form as evidenced in many of the songs he sang.

    Clay Aiken was awesome!!!

by teachygirl on 3/13/10Progress Energy Center Raleigh Memorial Auditorium - Raleigh

Clay Aiken didn't dissapoint, as usual. His voice was well-polished, and he hit those high notes with ease. I love the genre of music he has chosen. Music to "swoon" by. Thank God for real "crooners". It still amazes me, the loyal fan base that Clay has. I sat beside 3 people who had travelled from Minneapolis just to see him. Clay, thank you for not forgetting your home base and the loyal local fans who also love you. You are one in a million. God has truly blessed you with a special gift. Thank you for sharing it!
