About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

As good as it gets. These two highly talented gentlemen provided an uplifting concert, each in his unique way. Great show for families too!

  • Timeless or Timliness

by Minimot on 8/15/10Beau Rivage Theatre - BiloxiRating: 4 out of 5

Aiken and Studdard together again after 7 years. The fellows did well. The show was a melange of bits of songs from the 1960s through this decade. It was obvious that Aiken was suffering from the tour, his speaking voice was very raspy but his singing voice was still magnificent. Studdard was surprisingly good. I remember that he was adequate in 2003 but he held his own alongside Aiken. The onstage bantering was amatuerish and it was the only thing that took any of the shine off of the performances. I'd give the music a 5 out of 5 but the total production suffered giving me the impression that their next venue might be the county fair circuit or high school proms. Enjoyable but forgetable.

by DenaDS on 8/15/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Who knew Ruben Studdard could be funny. Seems Clay Aiken brings the best out in Ruben and himself. They are both wonderful as a comedic act as well as very talented vocalists. Fun show along with many moments of powerful vocals.

  • Amazing Show

What an amazing show! Reuben Studdard & Clay Aiken kept the concert goers entertained the entire night with their music and their dialogue. They are both so full of talent. The band and back up singers were great -- someone did a super idea of putting this group of musicians together.

  • Aiken/Studdard Make Dynamite Combo

by LChop on 8/14/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I were expecting a nice calm cozy concert with these ballad-singers. No way. It was a high-energy, slick and professional Vegas-type show. Lots of songs, a fast, dynamic pace with no intermission, and very confident work by Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard. Main surprise was how Studdard quietly but quickly took over the show with his warmth and magic. His years singing in European clubs paid off, making him very relaxed and confident, looking at and talking to individual audience members. Biggest surprise? Studdard is a very, very funny man. The interplay between the two was spontaneous, warm, and funny--even the band laughed a lot. And what a great company with these two singers. Two great female backup singers that each sang several solos themselves, two or even three keyboard players, two guitarists, and a drummer. It all sounded great. Another surprise was how many songs were done. Very long medleys were done for each decade starting with the 1960s. So many songs were in each decade that only parts of many were done. Time was left inside of each decade for Aiken and Studdard to do wonderful, powerful ballads. Studdard put on a white sheet halfway through the concert and did a southern healer number, trying to cure a young boy (Aiken) with no rhythm. How many songs total were done in this show--100? more. If you love music/music/music, this show's for you...

The show was excellent, I enjoyed listening to both artists and was able to see the majority of the show. I was dissappointed in the seating, the tables are much to close to each other and cramped. Overall the experience was positive. Michelle

  • OMG I LOVED Clay and Ruben

by mamayeti on 8/14/10Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - VeronaRating: 5 out of 5

What a great concert. First Turning Stone is a nice small venue. Clay and Ruben sang together the whole concert. They sang the best of 60,70,80, and 90's music. Even my friend who didnt want to go was singing to the songs! I am glad to get the chance to see them again, they both have really nice voices.

  • Show was good

by KAMNYC on 8/14/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Clay's voice was amazing even though he was going hoarse. Ruben's voice was great. Wish they didn't have so much dialogue. Wish they would've done some of their songs instead of a medley of songs over the past 40+ years. Background singers had great voices. Wish they would've done their own sets separately instead of performing together.

  • Clay and Ruben were exceptional.

by KSP507 on 8/14/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was great and had everyone happy by the end of the first song - however the venue was ridiculous. People purchased their tickets for the first balcony instead of the back of orchestra and when we got there, the venue ahd changed to a different ballroom with a different floor plan. They put first balcony patrons haphazourdly in the back of the flat ballroom floor. So not only was seeing somewhat difficult, but people had a hard time finding their assigned seating. At 25 after the scheduled start, many were still roaming around looking for their seats. But when they started, everything was forgotten and we had a great time. I would definately see this concert again - just probably not at the Manhatten Center.

  • The Cluben spells FUN!

by scaped on 8/14/10Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom - Hampton BeachRating: 4 out of 5

Great voices, great friends, and a great rapport with each other and the audience made watching this show totally engaging The venue was hot, crowded, and the stage was tiny but none of that seemed to matter while being entertained by these two very talented men as they brought the both music and the comedy. Clay and Ruben make a great combination for summer fun!

  • Aiken/Studdard surprising together!

by TheRings on 8/13/10Silver Legacy Casino - RenoRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show this was. Great banter between the boys and the music was FANTASTIC! I hadn't expected a review of 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's music... and it was well done, in a very entertaining manner. I'd see them again in a minute. Great value for your entertainment dollar! The 2 backup singers had great voices also.

  • Aiken & Studdard: Wonderful Synergy of Talent

by LRM2020 on 8/13/10Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - VeronaRating: 4 out of 5

Not only are these 2 strong talents in their own right, they have a wonderful synergy together as entertainers. The format was varied: in addition to individual and duets, they shared the stage and showcased the talent of their fine musicians and 2 back up singers. The model of the program was likened to variety shows of previous eras (Sonny & Cher, Carol Burnett SHow) where music was alternated with skits and laughs. The friendship showed through and it was easy to see that they were genuinely enjoying themselves. The skits were mostly funny - not corny - and they both adapted quite easily to them, sounding fresh and not as if they had done the script many times. Some of it even appeared to be spontaneous. The audience was mostly middle aged, which is a good match for the theme of "Timeless" which featured medleys of songs from 60's - 90's. These guys weren't even born when some of this stuff was in its prime, and they more than did it justice.

  • Bestest show ever! Worstest venue ever!

by LLnepa on 8/13/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

LOVED the show. Love these two guys individually or together. They are simply amazing. The theater though was awful. The floor shook as the audience danced and I often held my breath as many others did, afraid we would fall thru from the 7th to the 1st floor. Crazy, how the theater allowed us to be moved from the 1st to the 7th floor only hours prior to the event and then everyone had to ride the elevator, 10 at a time, 7 floors up...or walk it. Really crazy! Would I go again. Absolutely. Even if it meant braving that darn theater one more time.....just to see Clay and/or Ruben.

  • Clay and Ruben should have their own TV Show

by LLnepa on 8/13/10Turning Stone Resort & Casino Showroom - VeronaRating: 5 out of 5

Awesome show. These two guys are hilarious. They have the best singing voices in the industry and are as funny as can be together. Loved the show. Nice theater too.

  • Clay & Reuben Were "Awesome"

This is the 3rd Time that I have Seen Clay Aiken in Concert. He has a Great Stage Presence! He Loves What He Does & His Audiences Love Him! Together, With Reuben, They "Rocked". Clay's Comedic Side Showed Next to Reuben's Straight Man Act. The Show was Totally Fun :)
