About

From an early age, Clay Aiken was recognized for his wonderful voice and natural ability as a live performer. After singing in the choir and in several musicals, Aiken attained national fame on the popular TV show American Idol. Though Aiken finished second in the competition to Ruben Studdard, Aiken soon had a recording contract and released his first single, the #1 hit "This Is the Night," within weeks of the show's end. This success was followed by the 2003 release of his double-platinum debut album, The Measure of a Man, which featured the hits "I Will Carry You" and "Invisible." Later that same year, Aiken won the Fan's Choice Award at the American Music Awards, proving millions of fans held the singer close to their hearts. 2004 saw the release of another smash hit for Aiken, the holiday album Merry Christmas with Love.

  • Truly Talented Artist

by Tanukii on 2/18/11Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Clay Aiken performed a set of standards in his show at the Cobb Energy Center. Once that was out of the way the more engaging part of the show began. He showcased his backup band and his very talented backup vocalist and then went on to a spectacular set from his recent album. The show got better as it went along ending with an amazing rendition of his signature tune "Solitare".

  • Clay was fantastic but the crowd was small!?!

by TheKev on 2/18/11Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have loved Clay since his days on American Idol but have to admit that I have not heard much about him lately. Imagine my surprise when driving through Atlanta and seeing a billboard announcing him coming to Atlanta. I got online when I got home and booked two tickets. I was happy to see that the best seat available were in the orchestra!!! I was more surprise when we arrived and found out that the theater was at about 50% occupancy!!! Clay still pit on a great show and the small crowd did not seem to bother him. His voice is amazing in person and I was so happy that I had taking my mother to see him. She could not stop talking about how each song was so good. It seemed that it would not end but it did and Clay closed with "Solitaire" which was by far the Best for last!!!

  • Clay Aiken has an incredible voice

But I felt the whole production was quite amateurish. I love his voice and his personality, but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the lack of professionalism.

  • A great voice

by Gordon448 on 2/18/11Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Clay did not disappoint. He has tremendous talent and personality. The song selection was great. The only odd things were that he wore blue jeans (which did not fit the music) and the musicians and set looked like a garage band (sounded great though)

  • Clay Aiken was amazing!

by Kimbosky on 2/18/11Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Clay opened with a fabulous number. His voice was better than ever and he was very funny and interacted well with fans. Length of concert was perfect. People taking flash photography and videos with their phones were very annoying and distracting. I don't think they should be allowed.

A very special evening. The best voice on the planet!

  • Aiken and The 50's/60's Great

Great performance, the mike/sound system should have been 'softer' when Clay was projecting his great voice.

When is he coming back to Atlanta?????? A wonderful concert, as all of Clay's are. Just to short, even through it lasted 2 hours.

  • Clay Aitken was unforgettable

by Wonderchild on 2/16/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Was not sure what to expect and was surprised at the excellence of this artist. I knew he would have a good voice but was not prepared for such a superb voice. His intonation and music choice was different and every word he sang could be heard clearly. He had great interaction with his audience. A great show which my hushand and I both enjoyed.

  • Clay Aiken concerts really do rock!

by Mobile1 on 2/15/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Clay Aiken puts on a fantastic show for the people that come to see him. It doesn't matter if there are 300 people or 3,000 he gives every show his all. You would really have to attend at least one of his shows to appreciate his talent.

  • Clay Aiken Talks Too Much!

by mrorlmagik on 2/15/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 3 out of 5

Clay has a great voice but has lost his pop....even Frank Sinatra sped up a few songs...Every one of Clay's songs was slow paced...and he talks too the audience way too much...enough already.

  • Clay Belted Songs We Loved

by johnnycake62 on 2/14/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

It was our first time to see Clay in person. We enjoyed his performance very much. His backup players interacted with him to make the entire experience warm, entertaining, and personable. I will have to say however, we did not like Universal City Walk's atmosphere. We were very apprehensive and uncomfortable there. We like the Disney environment much better.

  • Clay Aiken was great. Wonderful voice!

by artus on 2/14/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Clay Aiken concert was great. The song selection was wonderful and his voice was so nice to listen to. My husband was not a fan, and just went along for me, and couldn't help but love it.

  • A gaunt looking blue jean wearing Aiken

by OrlandoDavid on 2/14/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 2 out of 5

Anyone who expected Aiken to sing as he did in his PBS special was sadly disappointed. Loud out of key strains and poorly dressed co-star was embarrassing to watch. Aikens attempt at humor was at best shotty, and even made fun of a meet-and-greet guest in the audience - poor taste. You just wanted to put your hands over your ears during several songs.

  • Amazing Voice

by gleeeee on 2/14/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Another outstanding performance by Clay. After seeing Clay perform for the first time at the Tried and True concert, a friend commented, "I had no idea he could sing like that. He was fantastic!" I'm always amazed at the notes Clay can hit, how long he can hold them, and the power in his voice. There's nothing like hearing Clay's voice in person.

  • What a voice! Really enjoyed it.

Loved every song and what an incredible voice! Did not know he was so funny! Had a blast and enjoyed the encore :)

  • Clay travels to the 50s and 60s

by Homeboy33 on 2/14/11Hard Rock Live Orlando - OrlandoRating: 4 out of 5

Good concert - Clay was in good voice and good humor. The show could have used a couple of uptempo, modern songs though to liven it up and break the monotony and get people more into it. The whole segment of taking newer songs and infusing them with a big-band sound was a waste of time and should be eliminated. I would have preferred a little more singing and less playing around and talking, but it was still a good show.
