We thought this would be a great present for our 7 year old - I think she enjoyed it but it was the exact same performance we saw for half the money at a circus in the fairgrounds parking lot. The singing was awful and the clown - insufferable.
This show was a lot of fun. Our 8 and 11 year old boys enjoyed it, especially the clown with the whistle directing the "movie scene". The acrobats, juggler, contortionist and clown were amazing. A great show, but a little over-priced and it dragged on a bit too long after the intermission.
I bought these tickets for my in-laws. My father-in-law has difficulty hearing and usually won't go to see shows in a theatre. He could hear the music perfectly. They both enjoyed the feats and the show immensely and are still talking about it days afterwards.
I have been going to Cirque events since the small troup was down in San Diego and then up in Santa Monica. I have seen most of the shows including Cavallia (which was an off-shoot production). I've seen most in Vegas. I also have seen plenty of Broadway and small theatre. This production was just shy of Thousand Oaks community theater putting on "America's Got Talent." The story was not odd enough to be Cirque, the vocalist, while probably a powerhouse in a Gospel chior, had no business taking me through my "dreams", the costumes were cheap and an opening magic act? Are you kidding me? We left before the last act, and if that was the "amazing" act, well, I'd rather have missed the parking lot traffic. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED and whats' worse is my fiance' had never seen a Cirque and now doesn't know if he'll trust to go see a real one in Vegas.....tragic
Cirque Dreams Illumination is a must see. Exceeded my expectations
I have seen Cirque de Soleil four times with four different themes, but one thing that is consistently amazing is the athleticism and skill of the performers. They are amazing to watch because they make the amazing feats they do look so easy. The tumblers and the other acrobats are always my favorite, but the musician, clown, and juggler were great as well. The show is always a feast for your senses.
I enjoyed every bit ot the show. The singer was very good, It is amazing how some of the perfomers do what they do. It was a fantastic show and I go to as many of their shows I can.
Wonderfully creative and visually stimulating. Tremendous strength and flexibility shown and some very funny interactions as well
it was funny! i had a good time and i will go to another again.
Mesmerizing performance! Would see it again and again!
We sat on the 2nd row from the stage and got to see everything up close. The acrobatics were amazing, good singer, and cool magic tricks; it all inspired me to stretch, lol. Unfortunately the speakers on the stage obstructed some of the view, but it was only an issue when the performers were lying on the ground.
Illumination was a great show. I would highly recommend it to anyone of all ages.
Impressed with the performance, wish it would have been a bit more diverse with the stunts.
I thought the aerialists and gymnasts were great. The audience involvement was good and entertaining. However, the four of us in attendance didn't understand the general theme. We were not able to understand all the music (the vocalist) that was to lead through the experience. We felt the music detracted from the art of the gymnasts. We are sorry to report this, but the business of the railroad and the pedestrians together with the singing just didn't pull the pieces together.
Didn't know what to expect when it first started....I thought I had accidentally bought tickets to a musical. But then it got really neat. These people are amazing with their abilities and the stunts they can perform. Awesome very small scale version of Cirque du soleil type show.
I must say that I hated the singing but I loved the show overall. The best part was the audience participation - I laughed so hard I was crying. It was a very entertaining show.
Just went to the show on Saturday... definitely did not live up to our expectations! It would have been fine for about a third of the price... certainly not Majestic Theater big ticket worthy!
5 stars. An amazing show...........................
The acrobatic was wonderful, very talented dancers, performers. We throughly enjoy the evening
