wow, what a great 1st time show for me. Can't wait to see a national show...
It's a shame it is on a weekday night. More people could have enjoyed the show if it is on a weekend. Brought two pre-teen kids and they enjoyed the show too. Music is nice (though too loud - but that could be site specific) and choreography is good. The acts were different enough from a few other shows we watched and the performers were great. Only thing about the show I'd like changed is the "background performers". There's usually some other performers dancing in the background, and they were distracting. Sometimes it takes a little time to figure out what is the main act on the stage. Perhaps more subdued lighting on the background would help. No photos or video to upload, since photography is not allowed, unfortunately.
Just minutes into this show my husband and I turned to each other with our eyes wide open in amazement saying that this show is excellent. As the show continued, each performance further confirmed our initial reaction. Everything ... from scenery to props to costumes to music to the energy, skill, and connection of the performers to the audience was superb. We have attended many other shows of this type, but this one will always stand out as the best. It was unique and highly creative.
The show wasn't bad; it just wasn't as good as one anticipates when you think of the "CIrque" name attached to it. The vocals were great. The acrobatics had some impressive moments, but seemed flat overall. The audience response to the show while polite, was also very quiet for the most part.
Excellent performance with multiple types of talent seen on stage!
Individual performances were outstanding. It's amazing to see such training and talent especially in the actors who appear to be so young. Special kudos to the young ladies from Mongolia and the cube aerialist act, that stood out. I had some trouble understanding when to applaud for the most amazing parts for each act. I felt the actors were asking for applause before they had reached the peak of difficulty and somewhat diminished interest and distracted from the flow of their act, this was especially true during the perch balancer act. The Argentinian brothers foot manipulators were much more interesting later as the trash can balancers (I think that was them with the third Duysenov) than as the closing act prior to intermission, I'm not sure why. It was a lovely evening overall, it's hard to get out on a Tuesday night but the performers put themselves out there and gave us their energy.
Cirque Dreams was super, everyone has such amazing talent!
I've seen the Cirque shows on TV but this was my first in person. Totally awsome. I loved it. Couldn't look away the whole show because I didn't want to miss anything.
Great show! It is amazing what these talented performers, choreographers, and costume and set designers have done. I have nothing negative to say about this show, except that there was SO much going on it was difficult to know what to focus on at some points. There were acrobatic performers, dancers, singers, and extras on the stage all at once, so your eye was drawn all over the place at any given moment. At the end of it we felt quite shell shocked, but pleasantly so. I would recommend anyone of almost any age go see any Cirque production. It is an experience to remember!!
Cirque was good but I was a little disapointed in the show overall. I have attended the real Cirque shows and they are fabulous. But overallo it was very intertaining.
Fantastic, just wish I had purchased better ( closer) seats......... will definitiely see MAnheim Steamroller and any others that are similar to these two concert performances.
alot of really talented people a great way to spend the evening loved the singers voice and the sax player
Staging was too small for a Cirque show, and it suffered a drop in energy after the intermission. I think I've been to one Curque production too many. It feels stale, now.
Kind of a low rent Cirque de Soliel but that is not a bad thing. Fun, unusual, out of the ordinary.
In spite of some good segments, this was boring. Most everthing was from other acts I've seen ..doing them better. It was certaninly NOT worth the ticket price.
Simply amazing from the scenery to the costumes to the talent. It couldn't have been better in any way. Marvelous!!
Cirque Dreams: Illumination was well worth the ticket price. The acts were very intertaining and a pleasure to watch. The only problem I had with the performance was when the bright spotlights would shine in my face while viewing the show. This was distracting and annoying.
My 17 yr old son and i went to this and we hade a great time this was an event to remimber for a life time
This was my first Cirque show. I didn't know what to expect or if I'd even like it. It was definitely worth the time and money spent to go. Got the flyer for the next shows coming to Bakersfield and am hoping to make some of them to.
