The holidays have arrived, and with them the anticipated Royal Ball! Cinderella's cruel Stepmother and Stepsisters are plotting to win the heart of The Prince, but a spunky and barefoot servant girl may just become the belle of the ball. This swashbuckling Cinderella just needs a little help from her Fairy Godmother and one ratty Footman to find her happy ending. Emerald City's adaptation of this favorite fairy tale is a musical holiday wish come true.
Cinderella is best suited for ages 3-10.
Very funny - more than we expected! Great show for kids of all ages (mine are 16 and 18).
Loved the interaction with the characters and the audience before the show, during, and after. Thought Cinderella could have danced a little more with the Prince at the ball ~ the dance only lasted a few seconds. Dazzling for the little ones and humorous for the adults. The stepsisters were hilarious!!!!
I took my 6 year old grand daughter for her birthday. We enjoyed the experience so very much! The cast was dear and so engaging - great job!! Saw Pinkilcious last year and looking forward to the next production !! Thank you for a great memory !!
the production seemed very low budget but the tickets were not cheap so not impressed. the crowns and wands given out to the kids at the beginning was a really nice touch though.
I am a season ticket holder and this was the first performance that wasn't outstanding. The characters on Monday morning didn't seem to have any energy. The children around me and my grandchildren got restless half way through. The set design was sub par for this company. I am hoping that the Cat and the Hat will be more indicative of this company!
Very cute play, great actors. My 3 year old and 5 year old didn't understand why there were men playing the step sisters but said they were great, and I agree, perfect for the parts. Missy Karle was a beautiful and talented Cinderella and the twist with Wesley, the valet for the prince was a very cute change to previous Cinderella stories. Wesley played by Corey Mills was a great character and helped make the show. Be ready for a short play. Almost an hour. Music was good (some sound issues with the microphone balance between actors but your children won't notice). Set was cute and minimal. Wish it was a bit longer for the value of the ticket. Pretty expensive, next time will buy the cheaper seats as the theater is small and most seats are great. Enjoy the show, overall talented cast, fairly good set and sound.
Fabulous, we enjoyed it tremendously. The length of the show, 1 hour, was just right for my 3 year old great niece. Our seats were in a wonderful location and the audience was very attentive to the production. I would recommed it to anyone thinking of attending. It was easy to locate in Chicago.
The play was long enough to hold the attention of the young audience. They found it very entertaining.
Has just enough adult humor to keep the grown ups entertained while all the little princesses enjoy the show. One hour time frame is perfect for the young ones. Nice twist on the original version with the shoes storyline.
What a wonderful production--we truly enjoyed it! The interaction with the audience made the production even more fun for both myself and my daughter. We would recommend this production to anyone who loves fairy tales with a twist!
We could not understand any of the words in the songs except "Responsibility", and that was the only word we could recognize in that song. Very disappointing. Also sad that the Prince did not put the shoe on Cinderella at the end.
My granddaughters, age 3 & 4, loved this play. It was only an hour, had audience participation, and great music. It was humorous, and entertaining for adults too.
I took my daughter earlier this year to see pinkalicous & we had such a great time I couldn't take a pass when Cinderella came along. My girlfriend & her daughter came this time too (gave the tix as Xmas gifts to the girls) and they loved it. Rounded off the day with lunch at Anerican Girl. The perfect girl's day!
I had front row seats for this production expecting to get a great performance for my 2 daughters. Not only were we not able to sit in one of our seats we paid for (stairs were put in place and 3 seats were totally blocked) but I had to keep maneuvering my now lap child around because the actors could barely get down the stairs without stepping on us. Cinderella had dark hair which was not easy to get used to. Come on, throw on a blonde wig! She had no blue dress. The costumes had threads and tatters everywhere. Props were falling apart. No songs recognizable or relatable to story. Very low budget looking production for +$140 for an hour. My biggest mistake was getting my kids so excited about it before hand.
Great singing. Loved the costumes. Actors were very into their roles. Especially thought the weasel was wonderful.
It was a wonderful performance. Just the right length for smaller children, fun for older kids and adults. A great way to start a love of theatre at a young age
Really fun performance which was appealing to young and old alike. Our grandchildren loved it, our son loved it and my husband and I loved it as well.
I brought my 4 and 6 year old daughters to see Cinderella and they really enjoyed it. It was one hour long with no intermission, which was perfect for us. I think that kids any younger than 4 would start to squirm before the hour was up (many did). This production was funny and entertaining with original music. I enjoyed the fact that the stepsisters were guys in drag and that they threw in a few jokes just for adults. If your child only wants the Disney version of Cinderella, this may not be for them. But we really had a good time.
Missy Karle as Cinderella was awesome! Check it out and you can say, "I knew her when!"
We treated our 9 and 6yr old to this lovely production during a weekend trip to Chicago. To quote them both, it was "Fun AND funny!" The hour-long show was just right and was filled with beautiful song, entertaining characters and humor that all could enjoy. We even had seats near the back of the theatre and that didn't matter at all. Great job, Emerald City!
