About

Chromeo, the funk-electronic DJ duo composed of David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel, have been churning out catchy dancefloor additions since forming in 2002. Beginning as high school bandmates in Montreal, Canada, the pair combined their appreciation for ‘80s funk, pop and R&B with a mutual studio savvy that leaned more toward hip-hop production. Dave 1 and P-Thugg debuted as Chromeo on 2004’s She’s in Control featuring their first major single “Needy Girl,” followed by Fancy Footwork (2007) and Business Casual (2010). The duo’s 2014 album White Women pushed Chromeo into wider mainstream acclaim, debuting at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and boasting their single “Jealous (I Ain't with It)," which peaked at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. Chromeo’s 2018 follow-up Head Over Heels added to the duo’s accolades with their first Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. In 2021, Chromeo showcased their vibrant onstage personas with their first concert album, Date Night: Chromeo Live!

    Funklordz

by GlockTown on 6/22/18The Fillmore Philadelphia presented by Cricket Wireless - Philadelphia

Chromeo is one of the best live bands out there. They're fun and they sound incredible live.

by ThunderMichael on 6/21/18House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

Chromeo knows how to include the classics and mix them in with their new stuff. It didn't feel like a concert solely dedicated to their new album. They hit all of the classics I wanted them too. Overall their set was seemingly simple which made it all the more impressive when it kept you engaged the whole time. These guys are pros. They know how to make good music and put on a great show.

    Chromeo was incredible

by EkimSullamanni on 6/21/18House of Blues Boston presented by Cricket Wireless - Boston

They own the stage and get the crowd involved. Everyone was bopping and dancing to the funk lords.

    totally worth it!

by DisneygirlBelle on 4/16/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

We had a great time! the fans were really into it and were chanting at the beginning. Lots of lights, movement, and audience participation. The songs were amazing! Dave and P really showed LOVE and looked like they were having a blast playing. The only thing is that I wish there weren't so many spilled beer cups at the venue and Chromeo also took an hour before they came on in between the warm up act. Even with the long wait though, i didn't think it deserved to their act getting a ding in stars because it was very good.

    Funky Beats

by Celticasper on 4/10/18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I love how these old theaters are still standing, housing live entertainment and still have their historic charm and atmosphere. Phantoms and Chromeo both put on a dance party. I loved the lighting effects on the stage for Chromeo. I was happy to hear that the sound mixing was balanced, being up in the mezzanine, and you could actually understand the words Dave 1 was saying. I'll definitely be back for more shows!

Worst. Show. Ever. Chromeo sucks eggs pretty bad.

by Bangoche on 4/10/18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Huge stage, huge server room set up, light show galore, soulless performance. Bland, insipid, terrible show. No stage presence and terribly plastic songs. I would pay you money not to go to this show. These jokers on stage did not even know what city they were in. They screamed “what is up San Francisco!!!” Dude, you are in Oakland. Really? So bad. They are just going thru the motions. Their opening band was SOOO much better with their set. Disgraceful.

    Chromeo delivered a fun evening

by ArffyF on 7/2/15Greek Theatre-U.C. Berkeley - Berkeley

I really liked the Greek Theatre - different spaces for different groups, you could sit down, not a bad seat in the house. Com Truise was fun, Glitch Mob put on a great and energetic show, and Chromeo was super fun. I think Dave 1 isn't the strongest singer, but he's got help with P-Thugg on the vocoder. They put on a great show, but they could use some back-up. Sometimes I wasn't sure if they were just singing over recordings, but maybe that was me being biased.

    Chromeo Rocked!!

by MIchaelQuuComedian on 6/3/15Santa Barbara Bowl - Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara Bowl is a beautiful venue. The only downfall is they close at 10 pm. Besides that Chromeo puts the best show on. My 3rd time seeing them and would highly recommend!

    chromeo and glitchmob

by joanneec on 6/2/15Santa Barbara Bowl - Santa Barbara

the santa Barbara bowl is an amazing venue and there isn't at bad seat in the house, we went to see glitch mob and they rocked. chromeo is truly terrible. it's a knock off of disco and electronica and I don't understand what everyone was excited about. they just weren't unique.
