Phil Vassar & Deana Carter Christmas Concert was good, nice & bit fun. Tickets were free from a radio station in Kentucky. They did a great show & their instrumentalists were fantastic - especially on their Trans Siberian Orchestra cover song. Pianist / sax / flute player is so talented. The issue that put a damper on the entire concert was the Senior Citizen KGB that had rules for everything. Felt like you were at G'ma's and being told to sit up straight. Can't carry in a purse. Can't scan your tickets from a screen print. Won't let you keep you bottle cap to keep from spilling your $5 bottle of water. Won't take cash - unless you're parking & then if you don't have cash, they don't take cards. Have to go through a metal detector. Will never return to this venue. I don't know what happened there, but I can understand the Yum Center invoking security due to # of people, being in L'ville, but this concert only had roughly 300 people in attendance. If you count all of the Seniors in red vest, then they had 400 people. I don't get the impression that Brown County Music Center in podunk Indiana is a hot bed of activity of people wanting to break into. Was a bit disappointed that our tickets weren't kept in Kentucky for the Renfro Valley center (which by the way does NOT charge for parking, can carry in my purse and they don't keep my water bottle cap.) Phil Vassar & Deana Carter performed at Renfro the night before. Would have much preferred to go there.
