He was funny but it wasn't that entertaining. Also, the supporting acts wasn't that funny.

by Alsqueeze on 2/21/17Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Chris Rock is my wife and I's favorite stand up comedian so we traveled 4 hours to Columbus Ohio from Detroit because we'll be out of town when he comes to Detroit the end of April. He was worth the drive and night stay. Perfect weekend get away.

    Great time!

by liagmaster on 2/21/17Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

First, thank you for mandating that everyone had to have their cell phone taken away during the show. This was FANTASTIC!!! No rude people with phones going off, let alone the unauthorized recording of Mr. Rock. The show could have gone on for a bit longer, but he and the warm-up acts were great!

Chris Rock was hit or miss in some spots but overall I don't regret going. He's funny just not the best stand up comic I've seen.

Used to be better and phones in pouches

by coman4 on 2/20/17DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Older Chris Rock standup routines were funnier, his comeback material doesn't seem as good. Opening acts were better. Also, I know that comedians don't like cell phones during the show, for good reasons, but I don't understand why it's such an issue if the show is already done, we pay good money and like to capture our experiences and have a token of memory to keep with us, I don't see any harm if we can do it during the applause after the show, or at least snap a photo of the stage before the show. For some reason this is still looked down upon, but at least still possible in most cases, but not with Chris Rock. He makes everybody put their phones in unlockable pouches which are locked before you even enter the building and unlocked only as you're leaving it. I also noticed that buttons can still be pressed on it, I can easily see someone turning on their volume up by accident while the phone is in a pouch and receiving a call in the middle of the show and having very hard time turning it off.

    CR is losing his edge.

by DPACfan2017 on 2/20/17DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I have been a stout fan of CR for many years. He is an extremely talented comedian. So I naturally had high expectations of a really awesome act. Not the case. The performance was subpar to all previous acts. Some material was really funny and some not so good. I would rate it as a solid mediocre act. I would not recommend this tour.

Chris Rock: Total Blackout = total disappointment

by NCdisappointed on 2/20/17DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

My daughter and I were very disappointed and we both felt that it was a complete waste of almost $200.00. I saw Chris Rock many years ago in West Palm Beach, FL in the early 90's in a small venue and I thought he was very funny. He spent so much time complaining about his alimony, divorce, and cheating on his wife - not funny at all. His jokes on politics were also not funny. Thank goodness for the two opening comedians - that was the only part of the show we enjoyed.

Chris Rock has a dual personality!

by SassyNC on 2/20/17DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

His show was equal parts hilarious and equal parts vulgar, but that is what I expected given his past concerts. I think that his "shoot a white kid" monologue was very inappropriate and not helpful. On the other hand, when he talked about his recent divorce it was quite insightful. You just need to be careful who you take to this performance.

    Chris Rock

by DCSO on 2/20/17DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The show was pretty funny. What wasn't funny was the first act came on 15 minutes late, then the second comedian came out. Between the two of them it was 22 minutes later and they announced a 20 minute intermission. The twenty minute intermission turned into almost 30 before Chris came out. All in all a good show, just don't expect it to start on time. One last thing.....don't bring a phone, smart watch or anything they think you could record the show with. They take electronics and put them in a sealed bag until the end of the show.

    A MUST SEE

    by Josh13021 on 2/19/17DPAC - Durham

I have been to a lot of shows over the years, but this is one of the best. If Chris is in your area, don't think twice about grabbing the wife and girlfriend and going to support him. Whatever the ticket costs, it is worth it.
