About

What would you do for fame? If you're Roxy Hart, you'd lie, cheat...even kill. "Chicago" is the critically acclaimed musical written by Tony Award winners Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse with an amazing score by John Kander that tells the story of a not-so-ordinary housewife obsessed with the spotlight and the lengths that she'll go to keep it. One of the most compelling musicals to hit the stage, "Chicago" is a theatrical experience not to be missed.

    Great music

by Wags624 on 2/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Except for sitting behind a head bobber he kept shifting his head left to right every 45 sec. The show was great. Music was awesome with the orchestra being on stage instead of being in the pit. The performers were wonderful

    Chicago was GREAT

by Noname125 on 2/24/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

The whole thing was great - that the actors made comments and 'spoke' to the audience made it more fun for everyone. John O'Hurley was wonderful. Saw it in New York two years ago and thought the Buffalo performance was much better.

Phenomenal show and cast! More comical than I remember. Loved the simple set and that the orchestra conductor was involved in the show itself!

    Chicago was amazing!!!

Great show and amazing leads and dancers. My only disappointment was after seeing the movie, would have loved more color with costumes and sets in the musicale. It was hard not comparing.

    An amazing touring production

by Billsfan25 on 2/23/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Bianca Marroquin is amazing and is witty as Roxie. Probably one of the best performances I have seen in a long time. John O' Hurley is a great Billy Flynn. A great touring cast in a beautiful theater.

Extremely disappointing compared to the movie!

by jay55555 on 2/22/15Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

I wished that someone had told me that it would be so much different from the movie. If this performance is similar to how it was done on Broadway, I fail to understand the show's long running appeal. It's just a very cynical comedy-story and as far as I'm concerned, it didn't have a lot of laughs. The performance I saw had the same set, the same costumes, the same scenery (or lack of) throughout. The sound was too loud and/or distorted at times such that I could not understand the words being sung. The star playing Billy Flynn was so-so -- his singing voice has aged to the point that he has too much vibrato (but at least it isn't as bad in that regard as the voice of the woman playing big "Mama"). The dancing wasn't all that special -- I was expecting much more since the show was originally choreographed by Bob Fosse. All in all Chicago, The Musical seemed closer to an amateur production to me than most of the touring shows I've seen at Shea's.

We saw Chicago at Shea in Buffalo, it was perfect! We laughed and were leaning forward each second. Bravo to all actors, and "Mr. Peterman" was the cherry on top!! Worth every penny. Very memorable. ... and seeing this at this venue was amazing!!

    Excellent

by Hadeskron on 1/20/15The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

I took my daughter to see the show for her birthday, and we were both delighted by the performance and I felt it was worth every penny paid. If the show returns to El Paso, I will go see it again. The vocals were great and the actors were "right on".

    Fantastic Performance

by KaosChick98 on 1/18/15The Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Center - El Paso

Talented cast, great performance! Cast was very witty and interacted with the audience just enough to make it entertaining but not too much that it was distracting. Great show.

Lots of artistic talent and a money saving production which resulted in a poor presentation. Same stage and only one outfit for all. I saw a much, much better production of the same event in Mexico City. The star of the show was outsandingly talented and graceful.
