Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.
First time we had been to this venue. Chicago was amazing!! I would see them again, if given the chance.
Chicago still puts on a great show. They sang all of their great hits. Now if I could just get their songs from playing over and over in my head!
This is the eighth time I have seen Chicago in concert going back to 1973 and I have never been disappointed. They continue to make amazing music and their stage presence is top notch. Only thing I wish is that Robert Lamm had been able to be on stage more and that he had sung Color My World.
First time in this venue pretty nice menu overall. Chairs on floor very uncomfortable!!
The guys are great musicians but the concert was not enjoyable because the amplification was way too much for the small building. the owner of the facility should have reviewed the volume of the sound system and made adjustments before the performance. i feel cheated. Couldn’t hear the lyrics of any of the songs. Our ears didn’t adjust for 24 hours!! $260 + for a very uncomfortable evening!
One of the best concerts ever. Don't miss this one you will be sorry.
Chicago was great! There was some amazing talent up on that stage and it was a lot of fun to hear all the classics. I think the Astro's amphitheater is going to be a great venue, but this was NOT the night for it. First of all, we purchased the tickets months in advance knowing the concert was inside and were never notified that the concert was moved outside. We were not prepared or dressed for the weather. The concert start time was delayed an hour and again, we were not notified. The grass was not mowed, so my feet (in new sandals) were soaked by the time we found our seats and therefore, cold the whole evening. It sprinkled on us twice and again, we were unpleased since we were not dressed for weather. By the time we left, there were puddles of mud and muck up to my ankles. Both of our shoes required major cleaning and my sandals are ruined. Again, Chicago was great, but we were so disappointed that the concert was moved outside the Astro's inside venue without notice. It made for an unpleasant evening.
Not a single flaw in their delivery - they are timeless and perfect.
From spectacular horn playing to lead singer channeling his inner Peter Cetera, Chicago just gets better with each tour.
Chicago is the epitome of class, elegance, fun, and showmanship! I cannot believe how amazing they still are after 57 years of shows and albums. These guys put on the best show I have seen in years. No opening act, they played for 3 hours solid with as much energy at the end as at the beginning. Do I miss Peter Cetera's vocals? Heck yeah, but they still put on the best show ever! If you get the chance go!
I mean how do you really squeeze almost 60 years of music into a two hour event? You can't, but, you CAN play some of the more recognizable music instead of the obscure stuff that was from back in the 60's when it all began. This concert was that. A lot of the beginnings of the band. There was the "80's"segment with all the sappy love songs we love, but a lot of the oldies but goodies predominated the show. The first set lasted 50 minutes, then a 20 minute break. Then there was a 15 minute percussion solo while the other members took another break after taking the first break! The second half was over by 9:00 p.m., so about another 45 minute set. There was a small encore, but we had already left the building to try to get out of the zoo of a parking lot. The house was packed and Chicago still draws a big crowd, but this was a smaller venue. Speaking of the venue, there are basically two entrance/exits. Trying to get out after the show takes over an hour. We parked six blocks down the street to avoid the chaos. I love Chicago and their music, but was underwhelmed by this concert. It was originally advertised as a combo with Earth Wind and Fire. We purchased tickets on that premise. Unfortunately, the tour doesn't start with EWF until July 10, so a little misleading. We spent $200.00 on seats that were the "cheap seats."I am glad we didn't upgrade considering we left feeling more than a little disappointed.
Took my husband to see Chicago for his birthday. It was great! They sound as great as always. Love the brass section! Hope to be able to see them again this year!
Easy to get in. Easy to get out. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Sound was great. Event staff was helpful.
Grey venue and show!! Chicago was a fantastic show! The band still sounds as good as ever! Hartman Arena is a great place for concerts.
Chicago rocks! I grew up with their music. Hearing them live was a treat; they were as good as I hear on radio, even after all these years.
😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁😁
The most INCREDIBLE concert we have EVER experienced. The band is fantastic and music is the best, thank you!
Great concert, this band did not disappoint, the band played for a few hours with non stop hits. would definitely see them again
Awesome concert! Chicago band members are true musicians and entertainers. We had great seats!!!
The first time was in 1971 when I was 17, a senior in high school, and they were Chicago Transit Authority. They are still great, and third in my heart after Paul McCartney and the Beach Boys. Go see them, it's still an excellent show!
