About

After 25 years, CHICAGO is still the one musical with everything that makes Broadway shimmy-shake: a universal tale of fame, fortune, and all that jazz, with one show stopping song after another and the most astonishing dancing you've ever seen. No wonder CHICAGO has been honored with 6 Tony Awards®, 2 Olivier Awards, a Grammy®, and thousands of standing ovations. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary --you've got to come see why the name on everyone's lips is still...CHICAGO.

    Not worth the money

by TaleOfTwoCities on 1/31/18Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

Over the years, I've seen "Chicago" a number of times--on Broadway in New York in 1996 with the original cast, at a dinner theater, and at a community theater--and this rendition was the worst of the bunch. The showgirls were not stylized (as per Bob Fosse) but rather, they were just trashy without redeeming artistic merit, and they and others in supporting roles didn't seem confident about their dance steps. Nor was the acting top notch. The ending was appropriately dark (emotionally), but the backdrop, which apparently was supposed to look like a concentration camp, just looked like an extremely bright light from where I was sitting (in the orchestra section). Overall, I was disappointed in the performance.

    It was OK

by dfkjdhfdhfjdhfdj on 6/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

It was OK. John O'Hurley was stiff and not engaging. The singing and dancing was good, Props could have been better.

SO Much Better Than I Expected

by djkudrak on 5/18/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This play was so good, I can't believe I haven't seen it sooner. I love the theater and try to stay up on popular plays. This one completely slipped by me though. I know it's been out for years, but I haven't decided to go until this month. I have no idea why. So, the energy, the humor, the music, the dancing and the cast were all amazing. Everyone in the theater completely enjoyed the show. I'm so sorry I didn't see it years ago. If you're on the fence about seeing this one, get off that fence and go buy a ticket. You will not be disappointed.

    Chicago

    by galena207 on 5/18/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Wonderful talent ! Great music ! Not as glitzy as the last time I saw it. No costume changes or elaborate sets. The performers were really great ! Loved it but like more sparkle. Expected a wow finale but wasn't.

    Chicago

    by Paws2 on 5/18/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Set, choreography, music, and electric atmosphere was excellent. The performance of all the actors/dancers/vocalists and actresses/dancers/vocalists was truly outstanding! We particurlarly enjoyed the ventriloquist scene and the trial scene. The lone juror was so funny, he stopped Billy Flynn (John O'Hurley) in his tracks! Highly recommend.

    Chicago was unforgettable

    by arrondisment7 on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The lead character, Roxie, was awesome. The supporting lead, Velma, was also awesome; sometimes her voice changed tone. That is why I gave it 4 stars rather than 5. In total, I would recommend this play.

    Out of this WORLD!

by GGerm on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I had seen Chicago years ago in another city but wanted to "refresh" my memory of this spectacular production, made even better with the featured talent of John O'Hurley. Terra MacLeod (Vera Kelly) and Dylis Croman (Roxie Hart) didn't miss a beat and the entire experience was better than I remember!

    Chicago in Chicago

by Ambradlo on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Chicago was wonderful, the set was very minimalistic, however, the talent was evident. I would recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of the movie or the music.

singing was ok. Choreography was bad.

by Elainebennis on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Me, my mom, my sister, and my grandmother all went to this for a late Mother's Day celebration. I thought the cast did an amazing job but I will point out the choreography was absolutely horrible. Other than that We had a good time.

    John O' Hurley was magnificent

by Ikeys on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The singing was spectacular by all, but John O Hurley's charismatic nature stole the show

    Concerted Posing

    by CasualFan2016 on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

As a casual fan Chicago was not the 'show' I was hoping to see. The music was enjoyable as you would expect from a Jazz concert, and with the musicians featured on most of the stage. The staging featured black...black risers, musicians in black, black costuming far all but O'Hurley whose tux shirt added a small touch of...ahem...white. Visually uncaptivating there just wasn't all that much that popped. The dancers posed well stylistically, and it suited the music, and the singing is what you would expect from a professional Jazz vocal concert, but the STORY was lost in the dreariness of a boring scene. Overemphasis on music and style couples with a boring visual presentation, and minimal _acting_ to carry the story line left the 'show' part out of the equation. I enjoyed listening, and if you want to go to a Jazz concert you could do worse.

    Great production, great venue

    by cmong007 on 5/17/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

There are many different types of musicals. Some are elaborately produced with amazing sets. Chicago is not one of those musicals. Most of the stage is taken up by the orchestra. There are a few lighting props and effects, but the majority of the production takes places with dancers and chairs. Those expecting special effects or scenes that match the movie will probably be disappointed. Those who enjoy the music and want to see a vaudeville-style stage performance will be entertained.

A nice twist to the Iconic "Chicago"

by Whatasave on 5/16/16Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This years version of Chicago was entertaining. There were a few more "jokes" scripted into the play than previous versions. The only issue is seeing Velma Kelly as a blonde. After seeing Zeta-Jones Oscar performance its hard to imagine Velma as a blonde.
