Chicago, at first dubbed The Chicago Transit Authority, immediately stood out due to their unique, horn-driven instrumentation and top-notch songwriting, a combination that quickly found a home on free-form FM radio in the late '60s. After 45-plus years in business, Chicago's music has never left the airwaves and the band remains on tour more often than not, playing concerts in every corner of North America. With a catalog of hits including "Saturday in the Park," "Beginnings," "If You Leave Me Now," "Baby What a Big Surprise," "You're the Inspiration," and "Hard Habit To Break," fans are always eager to snap up tickets to catch one of the most successful American rock bands in history. Four members of the group's current lineup -- vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Robert Lamm and horn section members Lee Loughnane, James Pankow and Walter Parazaider -- date back to Chicago's formation in 1967. Even today, the band isn't just about nostalgia; Chicago continues to record new singles and albums regularly.

My 17 year old son is a big fan and was so thankful to get the chance to go. On the way in, a man commented to him that he’s pretty sure you have to be at least 60 yrs old to get in the door 😂 As a band kid who loves all things music, he was amazed at the instrumental and vocal talent of the entire band! The band was great at getting the crowd involved and we were hoping to catch one of the guitar picks being tossed. I will never forget the look on his face as his favorite songs were played, it’s something he will remember for the rest of his life. He said it was the best concert he’s ever been to. The show was amazing and I’m thankful I got to experience it with my son. Music has a way of uniting people from all walks of life. Thank you Chicago!! On a side note - we were hoping they would have vinyls to purchase and hopefully get signed as a souvenir at the merch table but they didn’t. Maybe consider adding those to the tees! Thanks
Seeing Chicago was on my bucket list and they did not disappoint. You could see how these band members actually enjoyed performing together. The music was great and my husband and I enjoyed it very much! Took me back to listening to them in high school in the ‘70s. So glad I accidentally found that they were coming to Ames. A truly memorable experience!
Chicago played the hit songs, that made them who they are, just like they were originally recorded. Many times bands in concert butcher the original version. The concert was better than I imagined it could be!
We had great seats in row 7. Chicago is as great as ever. Loved the music of my youth, many memories, new memories made!
I really enjoyed the night. Chicago was amazing. Loved the chance to sing along with the group. Loved the graphics on the screen. I've seen them before, but this was a lot better then when I saw them in the 80's.
Chicago did not disappoint. It was an awesome concert! This was my second time seeing the band within 2 years. I saw them perform with Earth, Wind, and Fire last year. That concert was also fantastic! Hope to see them again un the future.
Chicago never disappoints!! An awesome show once again!! As long as you come to the Coronado we will go!!!
Wow, first time we have seen them and it was great! Sang all the hits, sounded better than ever and played for 2 hours. I would go see them again in a heartbeat. Great show and a good time.
Chicago is like fine wine. They get better with age.
Great seats, we couldn't get over how long they performed, almost 2 hrs of great music!
Have always been a big fan of Chicago, so when I saw they were coming to Rockford I was so excited and purchased tickets as soon as they went on sale. They were perfect! Every song was like going back to High School and sounded just like their records only better. I would have to say the encore was the best I have seen…I think everyone else in the audience felt that way to as we were on our feet dancing and singing the entire time. You could tell the band members really enjoyed performing for us. I am not sure where they get the energy for a performance like that! I would definitely go see them again!
Chicago, the band, last night, the Coronado Theater, Rockford, IL. Mixed bag, probably the last time I'll take the time to see them. One original member left in the band. Felt like it was the "Lee Loughnane and his Chicago cover band"performing. The mix was bad at times, a number of solos covered up by the rest of the band, loud vocal sections by the lead singer (originally from a Canadian tribute band) needed way less treble in the mix, drums were mixed like a rock song in Colour My World instead of the quiet interlude it is, etc. Lee still sings that song very poorly (his only lead vocal), and certainly not to any professional standard. The crowd loved the concert and gave standing ovations. But it wasn't the Chicago I've grown to love over the past 58 years of their writing, playing, recording and touring. No James Pankow, the heart and soul of Chicago, no Robert Lamm on keys and vocals. Pankow, Loughnane and Lamm have said for years that if one of them left the group, Chicago would be no more. Apparently the money making machine has superseded those wishes.
Chicago didn't disappoint. A terrific show and they gave the impression they were having fun performing. Love the venue and the parking is the best, right across the street.
This was our second time seeing Chicago at the Coronado Theater in Rockford. They never disappoint. They performed all their songs plus jammed to some oldies. They sounded great. The audience was engaged and singing to the songs. Another great evening of music!
We loved every minute of the Chicago concert! The venue is beautiful and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Looking forward to the next show!
Great show Sound was really good Singing was surprisingly strong One original member still having fun
My Husband and I attended the 11/13/2025 concert at The Coronado Theatre in Rockford. There is truly not a bad seat in the house! We had seats in the Upper Balcony, but were able to see, and Hear, Everything! The Video Montage of Original performances was neat to watch, but the fact that they didn't sync with what was on stage was a little distracting. Sound was OK. Bass seemed a little heavy at times when I wanted to hear the high notes. All in all, a very enjoyable night.
I had a wonderful time when I went to see the group Chicago at the Coronado Theatre. I go to a lot of concerts, but I had never seen the group Chicago live. I was familiar with their music, of course, but they were so great in person! All the familiar songs sounded so great. I love their horns. It was really a wonderful concert. The Coronado Theatre is such a beautiful venue. I really enjoy seeing performances there. Off street parking is available, you just have to drive around and look for it. I’ve never had to pay for parking at that venue before. I am always able to find off street parking, which is a big plus not to have to pay for parking. .
