The Cherry Poppin' Daddies brought it!

by Anonymous on 12/3/12Tractor Tavern - Seattle

In a word...AWESOME! RIght out of the gate, they played Zoot Suit and it just keep coming after that. Great old stuff and new stuff in the mix. The Tractor was the perfect, being a smaller venue, it made for great energy in the room!

by ShellHH on 2/8/12Ovation at Green Valley Ranch Resort, Spa & Casino - Henderson

I love this group and this was my first time seeing them live - what a show! They sound as great live as they do on record. Steve Perry is a brilliant front-man - love the pin-up poses! Have a new crush on Bill Marsh too :)

It was my first time seeing the Cherry Poppin Daddies and I was not disappointed. The crowd was diverse and the music a fantastic blend of swing and punk.

Cherry Poppin Daddies are high energy dance fun!

by MisizEvil on 10/9/11Wow Hall - Eugene

The floor literally gets bouncing when the crowd gets into the band. So much dancing and good music I didn't even notice my feet hurt until it was over. I've seen the Daddies several times, and this was their best I've seen.

    Stil hoppin' and poppin'

by Sennaya on 12/6/10Wow Hall - Eugene

They still have it! The hits we knew plus some we hadn't heard. Two hours of non-stop music. Back at the W.O.W. Hall in hometown Eugene, where they were once banned. Steve Perry , MC Large Drink, sported a beret and a shaved noggin.

    Friggin' Awesome

    by kilikina07 on 10/25/10Tractor Tavern - Seattle

We got there a bit after 9pm and when we walked into the venue, the energy was electric. The crowd was hoppin' and the Daddies were already sweating on stage. They played all of their big hits, and even threw in some really awesome bluegrass/country type of songs. It was amazing. There was plenty of swing dancing going on and the crowd was amazing. As it got closer to the end of their set and they played Zoot Suit Riot, I thought the roof was going to come off of the Tavern! Afterwards, we were thirsty for more, so after about two minutes of the crowd screaming "encore" non stop, the Daddies came back and hit us with two more hip swaying, toe tapping, euphoria inducing songs. My boyfriend and I invited another couple who enjoy going to the Tavern but had never seen the Daddies or even heard their music. By the end of the concert they were feening for more, and bought ALL of their CD's. The lead singer of the band is an absolute sweetheart, and he was so cool about taking pics with me even though my Iphone had no flash! He was so cool about it..as I asked, "just one more please, just one more please". I am a fan for life! If you get the chance to see them live, they are an absolute must!!!!!!

    CPD Still Has it!

by Bryholf on 10/25/10Tractor Tavern - Seattle

Terrific set, amazing musicians, they just seem to get better with age. Only drawback was no keyboard, but they did well without it.

    Epic.

by Trollish on 10/24/10Tractor Tavern - Ballard

What can I say? They were outstanding... and I actually found myself digging the ska numbers as much or more than the swing they are known for. I missed the keyboard player... hope he gets well soon, but had no complaints!

Zoot Suit Riot was a Riot!

by purrwhimsey on 10/24/10Tractor Tavern - Seattle

Cherry Poppin Daddies were awesome, very high energy with an absolutely excellent set list. I do wish the venue had been better- ie a nicer looking establishment and more seating. However the tickets were not expensive and the beverage prices fair.

Cherry Poppin Daddies at the Tractor

by JjDaddy on 11/23/09Tractor Tavern - Seattle

As always the Daddies perform so well and they are always a fun show to see. They play non-stop song after song and feel that they have great value for the tix price. Overall the show was good, we took some dance lessons for a couple months in anticipation of this show. Unfortunately the Tractor really isn't the place to dance as we found out because there isn't any room in such a small venue. I would much prefer that the Daddies upgrade their choice of venue in the future, I saw them at the Triple Door and the show was so much better, just because the venue really lends to their strengths. I just couldn't believe they were in such a small spot, I'm sure they could sell out a bigger place. Still they are always impressive!

Cherry Poppin Daddies can rock a show

    by chilly22 on 11/23/09Tractor Tavern - Seattle

With the exception of the abysmal opener ("Squirt" should go back to their day jobs), the Cherry Poppin Daddies were tight, absolutely full of energy, and great to watch. Their set was about an hour and a half, with an encore, and they definitely could (should!) have rocked a much bigger venue. About 200 people at the show, all ages. Definitely would recommend it to anyone who like swing, ska, or rock.

As good as the albums are- Live is where it's at

by bikejunkie on 11/23/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

I've seen the Cherry Poppin' Daddies live about 20 times over the years (since around '91), and they continue to be one of the best live bands I have ever seen. The albums are great, but you have not experienced how good this band is until you have seen them live. Tight is a colossal understatement as to how they play together.
