About

CHEAP TRICK IN CONCERT:

More than four decades after their debut, hard rock titans Cheap Trick continue to possess the same energy and flair that made them an arena rock staple in the '70s. The band has enjoyed an unbroken run ever since their formation in 1973, and it's easy to see why — their chemistry on stage is undeniable, and they clearly have a blast as they treat fans to nostalgic performances of classics like "Surrender" and "The Flame." Back on the road in 2014 with fellow hard rockers Boston, Cheap Trick will bring their signature high-energy show to fans around the country on a string of highly anticipated dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick recorded demos and toured throughout the Midwest before releasing their self-titled 1977 debut. The album failed to find an audience in the US, but it earned them a fan base in Europe and Japan, setting the stage for their future popularity stateside. While sophomore album In Color contained their highly regarded single "I Want You To Want Me," the band didn't make it onto the US charts until "Surrender" was released as the lead single of 1978's Heaven Tonight. By the early '80s the band was selling out arenas around the globe, achieving their most significant popularity in Japan, where enthusiasm over their tours reached Beatlemania-esque proportions. With more than four decades of hard-rocking live shows under their belts, Cheap Trick will bring plenty of veteran know-how with them on their upcoming tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"After 40 years of constant touring and albums, Cheap Trick still rocks! They put on an amazing show with lots of energy. They interacted with the audience and seem so accessible to the crowd."

"Real blast from the past. They haven't slowed down a bit and rocked the house."

"As always, Cheap Trick put on an awesome show. Robin Zander is the best lead singer on the planet & the playlist was great."

  • Not a Cheap Trick

by Teflon Deep on 10/15/23Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

I have been listening to these guys since 1977....have always loved their music...Saw them in Vegas the other night for the first time. They rocked it from beginning to end. The vocals were superb and the music was played like these guys were as fresh as they were 45 years ago...Simply put...excellent show from some elderly gentlemen.

  • GREAT SHOW!

    by TeddysMom on 10/14/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick are showmen and put on a great show. We drove into Tucson from Albuquerque to see them and weren't disappointed. My only complaint is that they were a little loud, but we were down by the stage which could have made the difference. All in all a great, fun show!

  • Cheap Trick always puts on a Rockin' show.

    by Dragon64 on 10/14/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been seeing Cheap Trick perform since 1977 and they never disappoint. I have seen them more than any other act, about 38 times now. They are one of the best classic rock bands of all time and they still put on a great show. Unlike some other classic bands that are still playing shows, Robin's voice is still strong and Rick's guitar playing still rocks.

  • CHEAP TRICK - Still Brings It !!!!

    by Skyknight on 10/14/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

I have been to a lot of shows at our fun and simple rock - club / theater The Rialto, here in Tucson, Cheap Trick was the best !!!! A real honor for them to come here, and celebrate with people that appreciated not having to drive somewhere in Phoenix - it was like a fun party !!! I was thinking like them playing at Mike Mcready birthday party at a Moore theater downtown Seattle, 7 years back.... Matter of fact a buddy from up that way flew in for this show and our good weather !!! Crowd was on good behavior and general admission can be or used to be not so much - but here usually is... Southern Girls, and California Man was skipped maybe not needed since played a solid 2 hours?? Drums - and back up vocals and guitar, also good, must be fun for them must of had good teachers??? Zander and Nielsen.... Liked their wardrobe all were totally styling, and with cool hats - like our local Rialto classic -T, Peterson, and Boracho - Sombrero man, Zander - totally fitting for here !!!! Thanks guys for coming !!!!

  • Still great!

    by pastorcameron on 10/14/23Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

Cheap Trick are still a great live band. While not at their peak, they sound great, change up the set list a bit every night, and still have some decent energy. Rialto Theatre in Tucson is probably my favorite venue. Perfect size. The people who work there aren’t as jaded as workers at other venues. Most of them are really friendly. We had a great night.

Love these guys! Haven’t missed a beat since I last saw them 40 years ago. They play good old fashioned rock and care about the audience! Fun and excellent music! Don’t miss them if they come your way

  • Great concert

Great seats, 👍 Concert was great. The venue is really nice not a bad seat in the house.

  • Early bedtime

by Tdawg on 9/19/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Robins vocals were spot on. However, the band drowned him out and the acoustics were a little distorted. Everyone was able to get home for an early bedtime. The crowd was boring, and this is coming from a 63 year old.

  • Very Good Show and Worth the ticket price

by StuMan on 9/19/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 4 out of 5

We try to buy 1st and 2nd row tickets, and this show was a great deal. The Victory was a great venue and the Cheep Trick was just as I remembered them from the late 70's. A+++! Try not to miss this show when near you..

  • Could have been longer

    by Aprilfool60 on 9/19/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 4 out of 5

I love CheapTrick but to only play 80 minutes for over $100 was disappointing. No opening act was there and they have over 20 albums of material to choose from.I was also wanting to hear more of their last two albums which are as good as anything they put out in the 70's.It did seem like Rick was having a hard time on stage so maybe that is the reason.Still could have had Robins son open the show and it would have been more for the money. As for the songs they did play it was a great show as they are a great live band. Only way I go see them again will be if there is an opening band.Too much money to spend on a short show like that.

  • Cheap Trick ROCKS!!!!

by Trickfan on 9/19/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

You take the worlds BEST live rock band and put them in an intimate setting like the Victory and you have a WINNER! The staff couldn't have been nicer. Beautiful venue.

  • Excellent sound and setlist!

by JAM on 9/18/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

19 songs total, a nice variety of old and new songs Robin still has an amazing voice!

  • Still great

by CubsWin on 9/18/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Hello there ladies and gentlemen…. Very loud! Maybe because we were in the balcony in front of the hanging speakers ? We couldn’t make out the vocals much. The band is a classic. Older but still cranking out the rock. Looking at their past set lists from this tour it looks like they mix the set every other show. I’d rather of had the other set, but it was Cheap Trick and the are great! 4 stars due to the volume. I’ve been to several hard rock concerts this year and they were loud but not this loud. I’d go see them if they come back. Disappointing there were so many empty seats for such an important band.

  • Cheap Trick

by Kelly on 9/18/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Excellent show! Wish they would have played just a little longer.

  • I loved it but there’s one thing…

by LisaL on 9/18/23Victory Theatre - EvansvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The band was grea! They sang all of my favorites and they looked like they still enjoy what they do and being on stage! However, the audio tech. (sound guy) needed help. He was missing cues from the stage to make adjustments! I couldn’t hear anything clearly during the first two songs except high end and high volume distortion.

  • Frustrating

by Abigail on 9/16/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Guitars and drums were unfortunately too loud and distorted the songs. Otherwise, would’ve been a great show.

  • Still going strong

by Miss Gale on 9/8/23Rating: 5 out of 5

This band never disappoints. Next year will be their 50th. Robin can still belt out all the songs, along with hitting the high note on the Flame. These guys are in great shape, and are so nice to all of their fans. Love Tom, Rick Daxx and Robin Taylor too. Find me another band out there with Cheap Tricks 50 year touring schedule, and so nice to their fans. I hope they tour forever!!!!
