CHARLEY PRIDE IN CONCERT:
As one of the most successful African-American country artists of all time, Charley Pride stands as a pioneer of the genre and an enduring icon of traditional country music. With more than half a century of recordings and performances under his belt, Pride is a seasoned veteran on the road, traversing his decade-spanning discography with a care and tenderness that underscores his passion for the stage. From the familiar twang of "Is Anybody Goin' to San Antone" to the lap steel-drenched lilt of "Just Between You and Me," Pride covered all his greatest hits at his 2013 shows, drumming up enthusiasm for more of the same on his 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born to poor Mississippi sharecroppers, Charley Pride had aspirations of being a major league baseball pitcher before an injury led him to invest in his other passion: music. After recording several demos in Memphis in the late '50s, pride signed with RCA, releasing his first single in 1966 with "The Snakes Crawl at Night." Pride's third single "Just Between You and Me" really broke things wide open, landing at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning him a Grammy nomination. In 1967, he became the second black performer to ever take the stage at the famed Grand Ole Opry, paving the way for an astonishing chart run that saw him score eight No. 1 records between 1969-1971. Pride has continued to record and tour over the decades, racking up an impressive array of country hits and proving himself an indefatigable performer with his continued showmanship on tour.

I had a wonderful time listening to all the songs I grew up listening to. Also Charley still sounds the same even after all these years. Would have loved to been one of the lucky ones to be able to "Meet and Greet" with Charley.
The show was great. The music exceptional. The band accompaning him were fantastic. It was a evening to remember.
I bought 4 tickets so one of my buddies and I could bring our Moms to one of their favorite old school country singers as a small payback for all they have done for us over the years. Going into it, I was thinking I would have to exit the event center to go to the bathroom (ESCAPE) many times. But, much to my surprise, it was a fantastic, entertaining evening for all of us. I would recommend this for all. It was refreshing to watch an entertainer that actually cares about the people that came out and paid $ to see him. Bravo Charley. A new fan
Charley and the band were great. My seats could have been better. It looks like they added more seats then when I bought my tickets and we were pretty squeezed in. Got to go back stage and meet him. You can tell he loves entertaining.
I bought ticket to see Charley Pride for my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary. My neice also bought tickets for my brother and his wife for their anniversary. We ALL loved the show. Charley sounds and looks the same as I remember as a child when we would listen to all the greats on the radio and watch on the Grand Ole Opry. I would purchase tickets to see Charley Pride again and again. He was AMAZING!!!
I like every single songs that he sing especially the Kiss the Angel Good Morning and the Gospel songs
This was a great concert! MONEY WELL SPENT!! Great location. No viewing problems. We purchased two albums as a keepsake. I almost got to shake his hand but I took too many photos and missed my opportunity. But man was it awesome.
The show was fantastic!! But the seats were terrible, the worst seats in the house. We were so far off to the side we were BEHIND the band, we didn't even see three of the band members. Those seats should NEVER get sold to anyone.
We always expect to see a great show from Charley Pride and this was Great. It is so relaxing to hear him sing and so much fun to see him and the band kid around. We enjoyed the show very much.
Really enjoyed the concert - Charlie was one of my favorite singers back when I was a little girl and his music was played on KASM Radio in Albany MN. Brought back childhood memories and he sounds as good as he ever did. Love his singing voice - and hope to hear him in concert again sometime.. Last time was Jan 2005 at Grand Casino MilleLacs - was great then and was even better now...
Charlie Pride was great in concert. We recommend seeing him live to any fan. He sounds amazing and has such a cool personality and style about him, it was way above my expectations. It will be a lasting memory and we will be looking forward to his next concert date, being sure not to miss it! And next time we are bringing mom and dad:)! We only wish we could have met him after the show, but it was a full house.:(
The man ages like all of us but his voice is as strong and clear as it ever was! What a great concert. Charlie is one of a kind. It was fantastic and fun from start to finish!
charley pride was allsome!!! We loved his show and also his son dion! had my picture with him and he was just so friendly and didn't rush us out to get to the next fan...Can't wait till the next time....hope he plays with ray price along side....what a great tribute that would be!! His choice of songs were great! love you charley please keep singing!!!!!!!!!
