Channel Tres on Tour

Sheldon Young, better known by Channel Tres, is an American rapper, songwriter and producer. Channel Tres is on his 25-stop 2022 international tour with shows scheduled in the United States, Canada and Australia. The electric house producer combines his deep, silky voice with an array of bass-heavy beats to entice electro-dance fans everywhere. Breaking into the music scene with his 2018 tracks "Controller" and "Topdown," the off-center music producer continues to make house hits. Channel Tres released his EP Black Moses in 2019 featuring the songs "Black Moses" (featuring JPEGMAFIA) and "Brilliant N****." In 2020, Channel Tres released his album i can't go outside, with hits "Fuego" (featuring Tyler, The Creator) and "take your time" (featuring Tinashe).  He followed with his 2022 surprise mixtape, refresh, which Stereogum referred to as an "LP's worth of tricky, funky, mostly-instrumental dance music."

Channel Tres Live in Concert

Born in Compton, California, Channel Tres has been interested in music since a young age, having played drums in his churche's choir as a child. Signing with godmode music in 2018, Channel Tres has toured with popular artists like Robyn, Vince Staples and Childish Gambino. Channel Tres has cited Outkast, Pharrell Williams and Kanye West as inspirations for helping him find himself as a young man, stating in an interview with Billboard, "Their sound, their fashion style ... when they came out, they were the most different thing at the time, and that had the most impact because they shifted the culture forward, especially for Black people." After hearing about how traveling helped Kendrick Lamar grow his art, Channel Tres left California and studied music at a private Christian university in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When he returned to California he began producing music for Duckwrth, Wale, Kehlani, and others. Channel Tres currently has more than 2.5 million monthly Spotify listeners with "Topdown" leading the pack with more than 34 million streams.

  • Star Power, Stage Presence, and Sex Appeal in One Man

by Izzy on 8/25/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Channel Tres is a performer and that puts him in a different league than a lot of his peers in dance/electronic music. I had the opportunity to see him live in Chicago on NYE (on my 25th birthday) and after the show I was literally star struck. From start to finish, Channel Tres delivered. I still vividly remember his entrance to the stage, in his shiny pink sequin trench coat, walking down the stairs so smoothly. He exuded absolute star power, RAW POWER one might say. I appreciated Channel Tres's show for sooo many different reasons with one being the focus wasn't just on him, but it was on his dancers. He had 4 amazing dancers with some fly outfits who were tearing that stage up!!!! The dancer in me lived and it just made the experience even better for me. Channel Tres was also up there doing the choreo like I hardly see male artists in the 2020s dancing like he was dancing, but my boy was up there killing it. I need to experience Channel Tres live again. His concert invigorated my spirit, I left the concert feeling so exuberant and jovial. Do yourself a favor and see him live now because Channel Tres WILL be taking over in the next 5 years.
