About
An iconic singer/songwriter, Carole King's career began in the 1950s, and she has been active in the music scene ever since, most recently using her musical talent to support various philanthropic causes ranging from the protection of wild horses to raising money for victims of gun violence. Known for occasionally touring with fellow troubadour James Taylor, King treats ticket buyers to unforgettable experiences enriched by her strong, clear voice, dynamic personality and sometimes even a high-tech rotating stage. She most recently released, "I Believe In Loving You," an iTunes-exclusive single co-written with Hal David, in May 2013.
King began collaborating with her songwriting partner, Gerry Goffin, throughout the 1960s, and together they penned songs that were eventually sang by musical superstars, such as The Beatles and Aretha Franklin. However, it was King's "Tapestry" album, released in 1971, that propelled her career as a solo artist. It topped the Billboard album charts for 15 consecutive weeks and earned four Grammy Awards. A live concert album, titled "The Living Room Tour" was released in 2005 and was notable for being her highest ranking effort since the 1970s once it landed in the top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart. In May 2013, President Obama presented King with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, and it was the first time that accolade had ever been awarded to a female songwriter. The coming months seem likely to bring continued successes for King. She'll be recognized as the MusiCares Person of the Year due to her artistic merit and charitable contributions, and a Broadway musical based on her life will open in late January, featuring a soundtrack of chart-topping tunes from her extensive discography.

Rating: 5 out of 5 UNBELIEVABLE! Carole King/James Taylor
by kpcz on 7/13/10Madison Square Garden - New YorkApart from the nostalgia, King/Taylor delivered a high-powered musically stunning performance. Bringing back the original Troubadour back-up musicians was a stroke of genius because they rocked the house. Carole and James never sounded or played better as proven by the many standing ovations. My friends and I cried, laughed, and were glad to be a part of musical history.

by Gumbysz on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisJames Taylor and Carole King poured their hearts and souls out during the concert. They gave the audience every thing they had. The tender glances between the two of them were so heart warming, their admiration for each other resonating throughout the evening. It is difficult to describe the memories I will have from this concert.

by tshields92 on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisAttended this concert for our 34th wedding anniversary. Growing up listening to James Taylor & Carole King, it was a given that if they were going to be performing on our anniversary, we would be there! Absolutely loved the concert from both performers, but especially Carole's energy & enthusiasm.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Incredible concert
by JMCJDC on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisThe concert was incredible. They said the set list was originally 6 hours of music and that would have been fine by me. I also liked the use of video with the theater-in-the-round set-up at the ScottTrade Center. Even when the artists had their backs to you, you could still see well. It would be great if venue-specific videos were available for download from the production as video was provided live.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Carol and James were terrific!!
by BAL1234 on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisFantastic!!..One of the best concerts I have ever been to...Carol King sounds as good as she did 40 years ago...James Taylor still has that great smooth sound..He said they had over 6 hours worth of songs they had to narrow down to less than 3 hours...The crowd would have loved to hear six hours worth... We drove 6 hours from Cincinnati to see the show and were not disappointed...
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St Louis This was the best concert I have ever attended. James Taylor and Carole King obviously love to entertain. They were so joyful on stage. And, there music has only gotten better with time. Their voices are a clear as ever. They started pretty much on time and played 2 1/2 hours. Amazing. Worth every penny.

by Anonymous on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisWe have had the opportunity to James Taylor before and he is always fabulous but we have never seen Carole King in concert and she is my all time favorite female vocalist. She STILL has an AMAZING voice and the two of them together create so much chemistry that it could be felt through out the audience. Hopefully they will be back to St. Louis together again!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Venue was the right size & accustics were great
by Ace1952 on 7/12/10Scottrade Center - St LouisUndoubtably one of the best concerts I have ever attended. About a month ago we went to see Diana Ross and the sound engineer at the Fox must have been deaf, because I was when we left. Why do so many of these sound engineers have to crank up the base so that your seat vibrates and your ears ring for days after to the concert. The Roubadour Reunion was fabulous, we could clearly hear every word of the vocals, whereas at some other concerts I have attended it was like setting next to the primary impactor at a rock quarry and you could barely hear the vocals. Please pass this along to any sound engineers so that they know that the most of the Baby Boomer generation wants to hear the vocals as well as the music.
