Carlos Vives Concert Schedule
Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Carlos Vives rose to fame in the 1990s for his unique fusion of pop and traditional Colombian vallenato music as well as his inclusion of cumbia and porro sounds. Most known for his Grammy Award win in 2002 for the album Dejame Entrar, Vives has received numerous Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career and was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Latin America's most acclaimed [musical] artists [who] embodies the very soul of Latin America."Carlos Vives live and in concert has been hailed as a beautiful mixture of cultural and musical tones. Vives, like other well-known vallenato artists, uses keyboards, full drum sets and other wind instruments. Vives's first tour was in 1997 throughout various cities in Europe and the Americas before moving to Miami to promote his music to the American audiences. Other previous tours such as the Mas Corazon Profundo and La Fiesta de Todos have seen Vives perform in countries such as France, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and many others.
Carlos Vives Background
Vives has always been a performer, often singing at family parties and church events in his hometown of Santa Marta as a child. However, his big break came in 1982 when he was performing in a nightclub and a TV producer asked him to audition for an up and coming show called Tiempo Sin Huella. Vives won the part and became a telenovela star in an acting career that spanned over 15 years. It was during this time that Vives met his first wife, Margarita Rosa de Francisco. Musically, Vives's big break came in 1991 when he earned the opportunity to sing vallenato for a part in the telenovela Escalona. Sony Discos liked the performer's rendition so much that they offered him a record deal. Vives went on to form his own record company, Gaira, and released his first album, Clasicos de la Provincia, in 1993. The album sold over a million copies and was followed up by La Tierra de Olvido in 1995, which went platinum in Latin America and Europe. His most recent Latin Grammy win came in 2016 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with Shakira, "La Bicicleta." Throughout his 25-year career, Vives has sold over 20 million albums and won 11 Latin Grammy Awards.
Carlos Vices was amazing. Was a long time waiting for his comeback. Love you Carlos:)
The sound was NO GOOD. Too loud. The bass effect was covering the music. Sometimes I could not hear the Carlos Vives voice. The concert should start on time.
Excellent performance, i love him, great show and music. I'm very proud to be colombian
The concert was Awesome!!! Carlos Vives sang without stopping. It was so cool to listen to all those great songs he has. I've waited soooooo long for him to perform. Would definitely go again....NO DOUBT!! 8-) TIP: As most of us know, don't plan on eating at the arena its ridiculously expensive. Save the money and eat before going to any concert. Use some of your money to buy drinks better, which are also super expensive and to pay for parking!!!
The concert was wonderful . Carlos Vives is the Best.
It was the best concert I have been in!... Recomended!!!
Carlos Vives has the most incredible energy and is an excellent performer... I would go see the same concert again if I had the chance.
Excellent come back. Alot of fun, lots of energy. Definetly will go to another
This concert was awesome, Carlos Vives is an excellent performer
The concert was great! Carlos Vives had the audience standing and dancing from his first song to his last song.
Best concert i have been to. C.VIves did such a great performance..had the audience on their feet the whole event. would have liked for him to have sang more songs and to have had an opening performer. but great time spent!!
Awesome! Love the entire show! Great performance ! Unforgettable!!
This was my first Carlos Vives concert I've heard from my wife he puts on a great show and she has seen him several times in Colombia. The crowd was into it and even before getting there I kinda felt I was back in Colombia. He played some of his more popular hits and also new hits. He didn't come on until close to 9pm and left before 11pm. Was it an amazing show, I wouldn't say so. The intro was cool and the use of flutes and of course accordin for a vallenato style however he didn't hit a home run. The crowd wanted more and he obviously failed with giving more by not doing an encore for the crowd. Out of all my concerts in my 34 years artists always do an encore. Mr Vives obviously didn't think he needed too nor even addressed the crowd to close the evening. All in all, a complete disappointment for expectations. I wouldn't pay a premium to see him again live unless if it's less than 40,000 pesos.
I had not seen carlos vives live in soooo long. He's one of my favorite artists. Unfortunately he sounds better in a record than live. Aside from that, there were some sound issues and the band and artist often sounded off key. A great show nevertheless. A new artist wouldn't get away with these flaws though.
very good concert and show !! great artist ! good concert , was a great show
Great seats and awesome set list. he was energetic
Wow, what an experience. Amazing!!! Unforgettable!
Great Show, Amazing Energy. We had a great time at the show
Went to the concert, the seats were amazing. The screen could of been a little bigger and it would of been nice for him to come back on stage and sing one more song.
