Carlos Vives Concert Schedule
Born in Santa Marta, Colombia, Carlos Vives rose to fame in the 1990s for his unique fusion of pop and traditional Colombian vallenato music as well as his inclusion of cumbia and porro sounds. Most known for his Grammy Award win in 2002 for the album Dejame Entrar, Vives has received numerous Latin Grammy nominations throughout his career and was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Latin America's most acclaimed [musical] artists [who] embodies the very soul of Latin America."Carlos Vives live and in concert has been hailed as a beautiful mixture of cultural and musical tones. Vives, like other well-known vallenato artists, uses keyboards, full drum sets and other wind instruments. Vives's first tour was in 1997 throughout various cities in Europe and the Americas before moving to Miami to promote his music to the American audiences. Other previous tours such as the Mas Corazon Profundo and La Fiesta de Todos have seen Vives perform in countries such as France, Argentina, Mexico, Peru and many others.
Carlos Vives Background
Vives has always been a performer, often singing at family parties and church events in his hometown of Santa Marta as a child. However, his big break came in 1982 when he was performing in a nightclub and a TV producer asked him to audition for an up and coming show called Tiempo Sin Huella. Vives won the part and became a telenovela star in an acting career that spanned over 15 years. It was during this time that Vives met his first wife, Margarita Rosa de Francisco. Musically, Vives's big break came in 1991 when he earned the opportunity to sing vallenato for a part in the telenovela Escalona. Sony Discos liked the performer's rendition so much that they offered him a record deal. Vives went on to form his own record company, Gaira, and released his first album, Clasicos de la Provincia, in 1993. The album sold over a million copies and was followed up by La Tierra de Olvido in 1995, which went platinum in Latin America and Europe. His most recent Latin Grammy win came in 2016 for Record of the Year and Song of the Year with Shakira, "La Bicicleta." Throughout his 25-year career, Vives has sold over 20 million albums and won 11 Latin Grammy Awards.

The artist Carlos Vives was singing and dancing the whole concert, without a break and the Amway Arena was packed and standing up and dancing and singing, One of the best audiences I ever seen. The Colombians were wearing their hats and flags no matter the age or gender, it was contagious how they respond to the music.
Just great the concert was perfect, with organization
Best concert of my life!!!!! He better do another tour bcc I'm already dying to see him again !!!
INMENZO CARLOS! Excellent concert. Great artist and it was great listening to old and new songs. Amazing!
Wasn't too excited to go because newer songs don't interest me much, but he brought out his own classic songs mixed with the newer ones making it a hell of a party. Also expected him less enthusiastic because of his age, and again I was surprised. Great show from beginning to end.
Amazing concert! Carlos Vives is a great performer
The concert was perfect, the only detail is that started an hour later than indicated. But with how good it was no matter.
It was a happy carefree concert the energy was great!!! the crowd was shaking their butts off most of the concert
It was a great concert, the only thing that needs to be improve is punctuality.
Carlos Vives took the stage with one of his new hits. As soon as the music started, everybody was up dancing and remained dancing throughout the entire concert. He played a good mix of his new songs and his old ones. It was awesome.
Excellent concert! Awesome energy and the audience didn't stop dancing through out the concert.
Travelled from Atlanta to Miami to go to the concert, even though Carlos Vives is scheduled to perform in Atlanta as well. The only reason was that in Atlanta the concert is mid-week while in Miami was on Saturday. Well worth it!!! Carlos Vives put an amazing show. The arena was packed. Rocking and dancing until the very end. As a matter of fact, no one left the Arena until the last song was played, around midnight.
I thought someone else was going to open up for him like fonseca or something but he didn't. It was raining so I think that's why he was an hour late. His performances were really good but the sound was not great. I couldnt here the drums(tambores' and the flute I couldnt hear at all from the speakers. The track of each song was stronger than the real instruments. i was disappointed.
Excellent concert! Carlos Vives is the best Colombian artist at the moment. This is a true great experience. I am so glad I went to this concert. I enjoyed from beginning to end. Just amazing.
Carlos Vives was awesome!!!! He started late but sang straight for 2 1/2 hours-all his old and some of his new material. It's just great to hear the old songs after so long. Everybody stood up and danced for most of the concert. Nice- had a great time!!!!!
Every thing perfect but our sit was in main floor and no way to find a drink!!!
Carlos vives is an amazing singer! He sang his heart out and played his instruments with his heart and soul. His concert was unforgettable!!!
