Entertaining
by Cricket on 4/24/23NRG Arena - HoustonGreat sound. Visual screen was so clear. Comedy between artists was entertaining. My only problem with the event was the PARKING. Why schedule a Taylor Swift concert at the same time?

CALVIN RICHARDSON IN CONCERT:
Beloved crooner Calvin Richardson has long been a neo-soul favorite with his silky-smooth voice, sensual productions, and passionate performances. Richardson is known by fans as the "Prince of Soul", and concertgoers will have no trouble seeing why -- at his live shows he delivers luscious tracks like "Keep On Pushin'" and "You're So Amazing" with an ease and precision that never fail to leave audiences in awe. Richardson made waves in 2014 with the steamy R&B single "We Gon' Love Tonite" -- the lead single from his sixth studio album I Am Calvin -- and he continues to elicit collective swoons on his must-see tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Monroe, North Carolina-born Calvin Richardson was a familiar presence on the gospel circuit before he joined the R&B group Undacova in the early '90s. After that project failed to gain traction Richardson went solo, and in 1999 he released his debut album Country Boy on Universal Records. The album sold more than 100,000 units, paving the way for the success of his 2003 sophomore album 2:35 PM. That album peaked at No. 8 on the R&B chart, spawning the hit single "Keep On Pushin'" and earning Richardson a Grammy nomination for the track "More Than a Woman". The Grammy love continued in 2009 when his album Facts of Life: The Soul of Bobby Womack -- a tribute to the late great singer -- was nominated for two awards. Following the 2010 release of his fifth album America's Most Wanted, Richardson took some time off to pursue other projects including a stint on the reality TV show Come Back Kings. Following four years of studio silence, he reemerged in 2014 with the single "We Gon' Love Tonite", a triumphant return that has ticket buyers eagerly awaiting his upcoming tour dates.
Great sound. Visual screen was so clear. Comedy between artists was entertaining. My only problem with the event was the PARKING. Why schedule a Taylor Swift concert at the same time?
Loved the music and each entertainer. It brought back good times. My inly problem was seating. Couldn't move due to the person next to me was a little large. Everything else was fantastic.
The Whole Night Was Smooth Sailing. The Artist Were Amazing The Put On A Great Show. The Staff at NRG Arena Was Very Helpful With Parking And Helping Us Find Our Seats in the and Told Us if We Needed Anything To Let Them Know And They Would Help. Everything Was Wonderful Great Memories.
They should have had Sir Charles, TK Soul , Vick Allen or some else. He was boring, talk too much and didn’t care for the preaching, I go to church for that, and he was singing everybody songs but his. Would never go see him again, very disappointed.
Had great time, didn’t enjoy the walking, high price drinks very over priced and 40.00 parking but the artists made up cause they done Awsome job great performance. No cash accepted didn’t feel that either.
8pm is correct dont come no earlier to get situated & seated. Very crowded no directions/ instructions on seating payments etc.Very unorganized
My friends and I was very comfortable with the atmosphere, setup was nice and great performances.
I echo the sentiments of an earlier reviewer from Atlantic City. After having a great show with the other acts leading up to his performance. It was not a good performance from Richardson. His selection of songs were very slow and drawn out with no true classics from his catalog. His strong vocals could not be appreciated. He left the stage to hand out flowers to the women and never returned to the stage all the while still singing the slow songs. I left along with most of the crowd. As I was leaving, the show ended with him still on the floor handing out flowers.

Everyone that got on stage was awesome. It was an awesome lineup. I would go back to see them again and again.
One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Everyone was great! The music was amazing. What more can I say?!!! Accept, can we do this again next year?
Loved every minute of the show. I really had a great time it felt so good to enjoy good music. I loved how Calvin Richardson and all of the singers interacted with their fans/audiences. Hopefully next time
TROPICANA VENUE is a great place to see a show the seats were good & good spacing for your legs. The ONLY problem I had was their SECURITY was terrible. I paid for GREAT SEATS 10-14 ROW "C" security allowed and didn't have control of the people from the back constantly coming to the front standing in the isles', making it hard for us to enjoy the show peacefully.
Pokey bear was the show ok and king George with calvin that show was great ok i will go again
Every performer was on point. The show did not have a low point. I went with a friend who knows the blues but I enjoyed every minute. If I had one complaint it would be that when Calvin aRichardson came on, they turned everything up and it was a little too loud. It did not allow his voice to just shine. Even with that it was a five star show.
The concert eas absolutely wonderful this was my first time at Tropicana to see a concert. My experience was absolutely great
Everything was excellent..All performers were great!👍🏾
It was Amazing. Great music good atmosphere. Perfect seats
Excellent from beginning to end! I wish more blues shows would come up north! Everyone did a fantastic job!
If you get a chance to get tickets for this event please get them. You will enjoy the concert from the first performance to the last. We went to the show in AC this past weekend. Wow
