Quinn Brings Burlesque Back to the Big Apple

by StagedoorBobby on 11/16/14Cutting Room - New York

I caught up with Quinn and the girls at the Cutting Room on 11/10 and had an amazingly fun time. I had seen them at the Gramercy and wanted to check out the show again. I am glad I did. The production values are terrific and Quinn gives a finely tuned performance. She is in great voice. She is backed by a wonderful group of girls with tons of energy and plenty of TALENT. There is even audience interaction. The band was great and the costumes just sparkled with so many sequins and beads. You got to love those Big Pink Fans. It was a great night and I will try to go back again before the engagement ends. I totally recommend for a fun night out.

    Absolutely Fabulous, a Must See!!

by BigMonte on 2/23/14Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Going into the show, I was not sure what to expect, having the thinking of Burlesque being risqué, but intrigued by the Broadway part of the title, I decided to go. I could never have expected what I received... An absolutely fabulous 9 piece band, Quinn's girls, those gorgeous dancers who are actually talented singers, and of course, the star of the show, the lovely Ms. Quinn. I was blown away by the choreography not only of the band but the dancing! The whole show had your attention and created quite an evening to remember!! A must see for any fan of burlesque, big band, Quinn and her previous works, talented live musicians, dance choreography, or anyone looking for a real fun time!! The official album was released at the Broadway opening night, it really captures the show, just close your eyes and imagine....

Burlesque to Broadway ! Spectacular show !

by SnowedIn9 on 2/12/14Gramercy Theatre - New York

You guys left me speechless, All I can muster out is a big Thank You to Quinn and the cast of Burlesque to Broadway. I attended the show last Friday and was blown away by the outstanding performance. I was truly amazed that Quinn could sing and perform the first set for an hour without even a break for water. And then continue in the same fashion for the next act then end in a truly explosive grand finale! I’ll be back for your next tour too and I will be telling all my friends. It s hard to afford a night out in NYC these days but with Burlesque to Broadway being way less than those high end bank account breaking up town performances, Burlesque to Broadway is a must see! Quinn leads the pack through the best of burlesque history and blows out the house with her non stop vocals, dancing, gags, and on stage costume changes. I’m a little sorry I missed out seeing the golden age of burlesque but this show made up for it! Special thanks to the rest of the cast for putting on an awesome performance. Quinn must set the bar and the cast is right up there with her. I loved Raz especially, she almost turned me to stone - ba dum bump….. Be sure to catch the show to figure out what that means. And the gorgeous blond Gracie, was right up there with her! I can’t imagine why this show is not a NYC mainstay like stomp. Burlesque to Broadway should be doing at least 5 shows a week.

    What a Tease

by Darlington on 2/11/14Gramercy Theater and other joints - New York

Quinn Lemley's va va voomanism is in super high gear in her terrific B to B show. Ms. Lemley's got a hard stare that slips into a come hither purr as she prances, dances and thrills her audience with all the glamour of a by- gone era mixed with diesel fuel. Perfect for today's feminist. Looking gorgeous in equisitely created costumes, Quinn is clearly the director of her own musical life... no Mama Rose shouting out directions from off-stage. Quinn leads her four hilarious chorus girls in a sexual romp, complete with kicks, bumps and dirty jokes that never seem too dirty. Quinn's voice, though a bit one note, carries it off with a wide, deep sound and excellent acting chops. She chooses songs that provide a sort of history lessons of women's lives and evolution. The band is great too, tight and bright like the whole evening.

    Great fun! - catch it

by Douglew on 2/10/14Gramercy Theatre - New York

a fun, entertaining evening - great numbers, performances, choreography, orchestra and orchestration (I don't think there was a number where I wasn't moving at least one foot to the beat), costumes, and informative history of burlesque. Quinn Lemley is a great presence and her love of the work is infectious and talent tops. If you don't enjoy this excellently produced show and the performances, check your pulse. Absolutely highly recommended!

    Tease Me, Tease Me Now!

by StagedoorBobby on 2/10/14Gramercy Theater - New York

Cold Saturday night in Gotham, but boy did things heat up once I saw Quinn and her girls at the Gramercy in Burlesque to Broadway. Quinn is a natural talent who is vivacious, and can she sing and dance. She entices you with innuendo, and teases you with a promise and It's a promise this lady keeps. She and her girls bring the world of Burlesque to the stage with great songs, tight staging, terrific choreography and beautiful costumes that have sequins and feathers galore. A terrific night and I can't wait for a return engagement!!!

    Quinn you are the best!!!

by Gharo on 2/10/14The Gramercy Theatre - New York

I was personally touched by Quinn Lemley's candor and talent. This is a kind of show that needs to be open always. This is good for everyone! the music, the musicians, the whole team were amazing. Good combination of music, beautiful customs, and a lots of fun. I will definitely go again and again to see the show. Next to me was an elder person who wanted to learn steps to seduce her husband. I thought it was funny to hear it. I went with my husband and he told her that this show may not be for her. She was talking bad and it hurt me because we were having so much fun. She stated that she is a musician and a producer. Then I understood that she may be there for other reasons than to have fun and I stopped paying attention to her. One thing Quinn, she did not spoil my night!!! It was amazing and I wish I can see you performing again soon. May God Bless you and your Girls!!!!!!!

Burlesque to Broadway Brings it Home

by Fanniefranny on 2/10/14Gramercy theater - New york

I got up out of my sickbed to see this and I would do it again. Quinn Lemley is a star! She and her girls create magic onstage, and it never stops for a minute. Everything: performance, costumes, staging, energy, music, is first rate. What's so beautiful about Quinn and the show is that it goes beyond talent to heart. Her riffs on family are charming. Every movement is a delight. And when she sings "Dont Rain On My Parade" she makes it her own. Amazing!

Feathers fly as dreamy Quinn dazzles and delights!

by Morv on 2/10/14Gramercy Theatre - New York

My Saturday night was considerably spiced up by the striking grace and charm of Quinn Lemley and her girls in a flawless performance detailing the history of burlesque. Gramercy Theatre came alive with Quinn's beautiful singing and dancing, and her self-proclaimed corny jokes were perfectly timed and delivered with the skill of a vaudeville professional. The production quality of the show was also a thing of beauty, highlighting all of Quinn's remarkable talents on stage and allowing her to shine. It was particularly funny when audience members were ushered on stage to learn the rudiments of burlesque moves. Quinn's band was one of the best ensembles I've seen in quite a while, covering many different genres with skill and feeling. The perfect accompaniment for Quinn!!

    What a night

by pinkfan13 on 2/10/14Gramercy Theater, New York - New York

Went to see the show on an cold night, but within minutes Quinn's appearance not only warmed us up, but kept us hot through the whole evening, which finished with our dancing in the isle. Quinn is a terrific entertainer, dancer, singer and so beautiful. Loved learning the history of burlesque and her chorus line was stunning and funny. The costumes too were spectacular and could easily compete with Folie Bergere's

Quinn Lemley blazes with Burlesque to Broadway

by Joey1970 on 2/9/14Gramercy Theater - New York

It was really wonderful to see singer and NYC favorite redhead nightclub headliner Quinn Lemley return to New York City to burn up the stage last night at the Gramercy Theater after first falling for the Rita Hayworth dead ringer with her show The Heat Is On some years ago. Notably, it was truly impressive to see Quinn and her ensemble of appropriately period-correct curvy girls fly their boas in front of an INCREDIBLE big band, complete with a full screaming brass section that you don't often see with similar acts - a true barometer of the pedigree of the show. Also very clever and refreshing for Quinn to pay homage to the Burlesque headliners of a long gone New York and all the self-professed corny signature one liners and jokes that underscore Quinn's charming innocence despite what was then considered very risqué. Worth checking this show out if it comes through your city to get a taste of a long extinct form of entertainment that is headlined by a great entertainer who more than delivers - from her vocals, to the extensive choreography and a parade of costumes and feathers that dress up this enjoyable show. It would actually do well with a residence in Las Vegas or Atlantic City if these gals ever want a sit down engagement in a casino or nightclub.

by Jsteven on 2/9/14The Gramercy Theartre - New York City

Burlesque to Broadway was an amazing show. Quinn Lemley and her hot chorus girls were outstanding. So much fun. Quinn has a beautiful heartfelt voice. Her moves, the costumes and the flying feathers so damn sexy...we were taken on a journey back in time with stunning artistic moments. The music, songs, dance movements, humor, teasing allure all combined to create a truthful Burlesque experience. I and the entire standing ovation audience loved it...

Quinn Lemley and her cast did an outstanding job of bringing back an old time burlesque show. Classy performance. Great vocals and great music. The band did a great job. Accomplished musicians with great director. The venue was small and intimate. Not a bad seat in the house.

RADIO IRISH New York City Reviews BURLESQUE TO BRO

by RadioIrish on 2/7/14Gramercy Theatre - New York City

What a memorable night we had last night seeing the smash hit show BURLESQUE TO BROADWAY starring Quinn Lemley at The Gramercy Theatre NYC. This show is truly quite phenomenal, like a sweet home-baked apple pie, this show delivers up a hot generous slice of Americana, with the show itself being a credit to all who are producing and performing it. I recommend you see this show most highly, as it enjoys a far-too-short run at the historical The Gramercy Theatre. The ten piece big band is simply quite brilliant and captivating, with all its members enjoying professional Broadway backgrounds. If you love Big Band Music, well, you're in for a real treat as they deliver one snappy show hit after another. Watch the piano player conducting while he plays. There is a cohesion and intelligence to this group of players that is rarely found in such a tightly knit big band. The sound itself coming from the stage is also acoustically superior and well engineered throughout. The star of this remarkable show, Quinn Lemley, is extremely beautiful, eloquent and magnificently talented as she takes us on her whirlwind twister of a journey ... and I mean Twister ... through the story of Burlesque which occasionally enters her very own life journey from singing as a little girl in her father's diner, the Buffeteria in Columbus Indiana, to the stories about how her own Grandmother changed her life forever. There is a sentimentality embedded at the heart of BURLESQUE TO BROADWAY that brought tears to my eyes. It is a heartfelt, genuine sentimentality, and Lemley tells her tale quite beautifully. In my estimation, Quinn Lemley is not 'acting' Burlesque per say. She 'is' Burlesque. She is the real thing, an enormously talented actress, singer and performer who very much ranks up there with Gypsy Rose Lee, Mae West, Jayne Mansfield, Bettie Page, Dixie Evans, Diana Dors, right up to the likes of recent stars Cher and Bette Midler. We were absolutely captivated with her performance and were riveted from start to finish, as she knocks out one heart-pounding song after another in a feast of glitter and glamour and brassy bawdy brilliance. The entire cast works tremendously hard up there on stage delivering this intricate and skilled music show. Jaw dropping. As the history of the art of Burlesque resurfaces on the world stage, and the theatre-going world once again gets to celebrate the Art of The Tease and the brassy sound of that exhilarating accompanying big band music here is a show that combines all the elements of Burlesque, and delivers it with the precision and skill of a tiger. These girls can sing too, with harmonies being complicated and unique, while all onstage possesses a remarkable voice, One of the very best shows I have seen, ever, and I recommend you see it for yourself. Great fun, super skilled, and right on the bulls eye of authentic Burlesque.
