“The best show in town!” shouts NPR.
Hailed by Time Magazine as “Musical Theatre Gold!”, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY is the hilarious musical comedy about the making of a Broadway show.
Written by Woody Allen, with original direction and choreography by Susan Stroman and based upon the screenplay of the acclaimed film by Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath, BULLETS OVER BROADWAY is the story of a young playwright who, in desperate need of financial backing for his next show, accepts an offer he can’t refuse from a mobster looking to please his showgirl girlfriend.
Don’t miss what the New Yorker exclaims as “a Fun Machine from Start to Finish!” Loaded with big laughs, colorful characters, and the songs that made the '20s roar, Bullets Over Broadway is bringing musical comedy back with a bang.

I bought a tix for my Mom. Because she enjoy musical variety theatre etc. From what I got reaction wise from her after seeing the matinee last Saturday. It was good, but not great. The reason being, I'm guessing the show wasn't what she expected. That is...she thought it would be like 42nd Street or something more musical production wise. But overall, she enjoyed the show, the cast was excellent she said.
Average dated musical. Reminded me of "Guys & Dolls" but not nearly as good. Dancing was outstanding but singing not so memorable.
This was such a fun musical, the costumes the singing and the laughter, need I say more.
High energy and great dancing - songs strike a familiar and happy memories
The show was very enjoyable. Great dancing, and singing. It was 2 1/2 hours well spent.
This show was off the charts! So well acted and a funny story. The Pantages itself is an amazing venue, and actress Emma Stratton who played Helen Sinclair was stellar.
if you want to have a fun evening and leave happy see Bullets Over Broadway!!
The problem in the Pantages Theatre is the sound system. So much of BULLETS OVER BROADWAY enjoyment is in the snappy, sharp, surprising dialogue -- and where I was sitting (rear orchestra) I couldn't understand much of the dialogue and the song lyrics. The dancing is thrilling. Who doesn't love a stage-full of tap-dancing Gangsters? I feel a little let down that I must appreciate the musical numbers for how skillfully they turned pop classics ot that era into songs that are right for all the characters -- when what I'm longing to appreciate even more is an original score for this wonderful, delightful, zany Woody Allen movie-turned-Broadway.
With the exception of Cheech, the other characters were miscast. Their performances as well as their demeanor all seemed to lack exuberance. I felt as though I was watching a high school performance at my local playhouse.
A quick paced old time musical with great dance numbers. A cast of strong voices woven around a familiar "gangster girlfriend who wants to be in show biz" plot. Broadway quality sets and costumes and well known songs. Many specialty numbers feature talent of cast members who are fresh and energetic.
The cast is very hard working and deserves a lot of credit and the choreography (Clare Cook recreating Susan Stroman) is outstanding and plentiful but what in God's name happened to Woody Allen (and Douglas McGrath's) wonderful screenplay for their 1995 film? What's on stage in the musical isn't' naughty, it's not racy, it's obscene, vulgar and out and out pornographic. There are more chaise lounges than there is good taste. Structurally, it's sound, but the dialogue is reprehensible as are the jokes. That someone of Ms. Stroman's stature could let something like this open on Broadway--and TOUR--INCOMPLETE is nothing short of scandalous.
I LOVE GOOD SHOWS - THAT ONE DIDN'T DISAPPOINTED ME : WELL MADE; GOOD VOICES AND BEAUTIFUL DANCERS. NOT A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! REALLY ENJOYED! I CAN NOT RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND BECAUSE THE FRIEND RECOMMENDED IT TO ME. BUT TO EVERYONE ELSE- YES!
The plot was thin, but everything else was a lot of fun. Great dancing and singing. All five of us who attended enjoyed the show and would recommend it to friends.
A little too slapstick for my taste. Also the sound system was poor. It was hard to hear everything sitting along the side in the orchestra.
This was a world class show. The dancing was fantastic, the singing excellent, the acting superb. Incredible performance. Go see it.
A very good production full of dancing and fun characters. Michael Williams ROCKED in the lead role of playwright David Shayne. Perfect comedic timing, very believable and an overall great talent. Also loved the Cheech and Warner Purcell characters. Fun show!
Great show...fast moving, great singing and dancing...also very funny...not for children, but a super good show.
Great show, full of energy and excitement. Had me laughing and entertained the entire time. GREAT job!!!
The show was fantastic from beginning to end. Storyline was fun, entertaining and lines and songs were funny. The only problem was I was entered into a lottery for discounted tickets and was told I did not win the lottery and within a week (after I purchased higher priced tickets) was notified I had won the lottery. Broadway Across America told me there was nothing they could do since I had purchased the tickets through Ticketmaster (their affiliated purchase purveyor). The tickets I purchased were $50.00 each higher than the lottery tickets. I think this was a case of Bait and Switch!
