    Great characters

by Mac on 10/19/22The Stanley - Utica

The performers were wonderful, extremely talented in singing, showing characteristics of original performers and overall performance. Too bad it was so loud, was difficult to completely enjoy. We moved from prime close seating to way back balcony seats hoping that would lessen the discomfort but it didn’t.

Talented cast, but small budgeted production

by Marky Marc on 10/19/22The Stanley - Utica

Spent $160 for a pair of pre-public sale/wonderful seats. Later saw major ticket discounts (up to $15 pp) being offered to the public. Frustrating. The show was adequate, but was a small production with a small turnout.

Not alot of dialog, but TONS of music performances!

by Jen Pants on 10/19/22The Stanley - Utica

Great show if ypu like to rock and roll, like at a concert. By the end we were all standing, clapping, singing, and dancing. Super fun show, but sad because you know how in real life it was all cut short. Definitely a misty eyed moment, but then they bring you back into the groove and you are smiling for what those boys created with such a short lives.

Well done explained the rise and fall of his stardom in good accurate detail. Loved the music. The last half was really rocking it.

The show was very well done, loved it!!

by Julia on 10/18/22Broome County Forum Theatre - Binghamton

We truly enjoyed the show. Since I was only 4 when he died, it gave a sense of reality to him.

The show was excellent, singing and acting was great!!

by bootsma on 10/18/22Broome County Forum Theatre - Binghamton

Was a great show!! Front row seats also make a difference at any show because NO venue gives people enough room to get up without stepping on everyone on the way out. Another suggest is always the tall person sitting in front of you.Make theaters at an angle of degree where it doesn't obscure the person in front of you!!

    Buddys Brilliance

by GWells on 10/18/22Broome County Forum Theatre - Binghamton

My initial thoughts focused on the minimalistic set…. Then the show started. “Buddy” was perfect. Physically, vocally, musicianship and acting ability were all perfect. This actor made me believe I was in 1956-1958 and that he was indeed Buddy. The rest of the cast complemented him well. I highly recommend the show and always recommend ghe Binghamton Forum. Rave On.

    Good

by JA on 10/17/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

Clearly, there was a problem with the sound. I don't know if it was the Theater, or what the group brought with them. The musical was shut down and there was an attempt to fix the sound which I appreciated. It did help a lot so your eardrums could handle the songs. I didn't feel that the main singers were very strong in their roles. A lot of time was spent making Buddy out to be a bit of a doofus. This got better toward the end. I think he was anything, but that. He was a risk-taker, stuck to his beliefs, and did not let money influence his decisions. The band was excellent. It was great to hear the music.

    Disappointing to say the least!

by Mamo on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

The script was too simplistic, not very creative. The music was good. The acting was mediocre. The sound system was horrific! We were so bored we left at the intermission. Worse musical/ drama we have ever attended.

Amateur production. Thought I was at a high school musical.

by Lewie on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

Actor who played Buddy was excellent. That was the only plus.

    Slow

    by C. C. on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

We found the play to be slow paced and not very entertaining. Just about everytime they started to sing a song, they faded out to be able to move some props around. We left at intermission. The actors did have nice singing voices though.

The music was great but the sound system was terrible

by Suzi B on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

As you know sound system not working properly Either too loud or not able to hear

    It was so-so.

by Renoboy on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

Well the music was great. The acting was fair. The set left a lot to be desired. The show started 10 minutes late. There was a shut down of 10 minutes due to technical difficulties. It was not worth the price our seats. The REV ( formerly MGR) in Auburn, NY did Buddy Holly & it was much much better & 1/4th of the price.

Equal to a high school performance.

by Rich on 10/16/22Landmark Theatre - Syracuse

For the first thirty minutes, there were problems with the mics. Curtains open when they should have been closed. Lights shined on the wrong actor. Music and actors were really good!

    Buddy Holly

by Char on 11/22/21Broome County Forum Theatre - Binghamton

The musical was a fantastic even though we were in the last seat in the balcony! However we were able to stand up and dance somewhat without blocking someone view! The musicians were amazing singers!!! I do wish you could open the doors like at 2:15 instead of 2:30, as a majority of the patrons were Senior Citizens. We stood in the lobby all crunched together waiting for the two doors to open! Then we climbed the steps to the balcony, walked down the aisle, to have to then climb another set of stairs to our seat. Maybe let the balcony seats go first , then the lower area to avoid confusion. We still have covid to think about and we wore our masks. Thank you!,

    Good Show, Poor Sound

by Theater Carol on 11/17/21Scranton Cultural Center - Scranton

Went to the show at the Scranton Cultural Center. Show was good, music was good and actors were good. Enjoyed the show except the sound was very, very poor. Went with three friends and all of us complained about the sound. Could barely understand what the actors were saying as it sounded garbled. I have gone to many shows at this venue but none had such poor sound quality as this one.
