About

It says all you need to know about Buddy Guy that the music genre that he has come to embody, the Chicago Blues, could never hope to contain him. In the more than 55 years since the Louisiana moved to Chicago and embarked on one of the most influential careers a guitarist could ever hope for (just ask Eric Clapton), Guy is still pushing the envelope of his artistry. But what is remarkable about this Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer is that he isn't sacrificing an iota of his relevancy while doing so. Guy proves it not just in concerts that are as high energy now as they were when he was heralding a rock guitar revolution in the 1960's, but also on the charts. His 2010 musical autobiography-of-sorts Living Proof was the blues legend's highest carting record to date, while his 2013 double disk follow up Rhythm and Blues was #1 on the Blues chart and showed 77-year-old to be every bit the firecracker as guest stars Kid Rock and Arrowsmith. If his last few decades have proven anything, it's that a ticket to a Buddy Guy concert isn't simply a tour through blues history, but an opportunity to see a genre's foremost practitioner still at the top of his game, with as much to say as ever has.

    What a night!

by Stevie B on 5/9/24The Wilbur - Boston

Buddy Guy was amazing. At 86 years young, the guy has more energy than I do! Amazing music, was very humble and truthful "That;s why he isn't a politician". Very intimate venue to see a legend.

87 year old Buddy Guy rocks the house

by Al D on 5/9/24The Wilbur - Boston

First was the pleasant surprise that Tom Hambridge was the opener for Buddy then played drums for Buddy’s performance. Buddy’s performance was fantastic! He played a medley of old blues tunes from some of the greats including Muddy, BB, and John Lee. Told some great stories to go along with them that made you wonder about the times he spent with them. Of Course Buddy played his own tunes from his long history and was outstanding! He is such a great talent and I am glad I had the opportunity to see him on his final tour.

Buddy was on my list of legends to see and he did not disappoint! From the first note that cried out of his guitar, I was mesmerized. His crystal clear vocal range, magic fingers and storytelling created an experience of a lifetime! Best show I’ve ever seen! 🎸🎶💥

    Farewell, Buddy!

by wizernow on 5/7/24Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Penn’s Peak is a fabulous venue in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania. Well, its a wonderful concert hall, but a terrible place to get a meal (Roadies needs a separate, seriously awful review). Art, the opening almost bluesman from Brazil was very good, but Buddy was the star. His shtick hasn’t changes in years - which is a double-edged sword. At 87 (!) he is still a master showman and awesome guitar player. If you've seen his shows through the years you already know the songs and the jokes. And if you have great seats, good company, and a tasty drink, you will love it all over again.

    Awesome night !

by Philly on 5/7/24Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

Great show by Buddy Guy! I’ve seen Buddy several times over the years! He’s slowed down a bit, but at 87, he can still rock the roof off. Thankful I was able to attend the rescheduled performance. The stories about his life are amazing to hear in person. So many young people don’t realize how life was at that time. Penns Peak is my favorite venue ! Easy to park, there’s food & drinks, and the staff is friendly.
