Ally Venable has been electrifying the blues scene since 2013, when she released her debut EP Wise Man at age 14. Her first full-length album, No Glass Shoes, was released in 2016 and quickly established Venable as a powerhouse songwriter and guitarist. The Kilgore, Texas, native would soon draw comparisons to Stevie Ray Vaughan, the blues legend who inspired her. "What got me into the blues was discovering Stevie Ray Vaughan," she told Guitar World in 2022. "That turned my whole world upside down."
Her third album, 2019's Texas Honey, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. Two years later she released the critically-acclaimed Heart of Fire, and her fifth album, 2023's Real Gone, features blues legend Buddy Guy on the scorching duet "Texas Louisiana."
Born and raised in Texas, Venable sang in church choirs when she was young, and began playing the guitar at 12. She received the Female Guitar Player of the Year honor at the East Texas Academy of Music Awards in 2014 and 2015.
Ally is the best. What an incredible experience. She is so professional with her guitar playing and singing. So glad her band had horns. What a great sound. So happy to get her autograph and interact with her after the show. This is our third time seeing her, never disappointed.

Ally puts on an incredible show! She has such a soulful, amazing voice, and is an incredible guitar player! The Blues are in her soul! This is the third time I've seen her at the Ludlow Garage, which is an awesome venue by the way. The ticket value was great for what you get. I will definitely go see her again when she is in the area.
The only problem I had was that she was about 15 minutes late to the stage. Her performance and the fact that she stayed around to meet her fans made up for it. She talked with everyone who waited in line and was willing to have her picture taken with us. She was very down to earth and asked me how I heard about her. I discovered her on Amazon, but I am very disappointed that they didn’t let me know when she had new albums out. I bought 4 at the concert that I didn’t know existed and she signed them for me when I met her. Her singing and guitar playing skills have obviously improved, she was hitting notes with her voice that I didn’t know she was capable of and she took on covers of Hendrix and SRV, which aren’t easy. If she is in my area again I will buy tickets to see her.
Have been to Jimmy's many times and sat in a variety of locations. Recently, I was in the back area next to the bar. Still had a view of the stage but the audio through the speakers was unintelligible. When I went out to an area in the main room I could understand her vocals but the speakers in the back room were either insufficient (center channel maybe needed?) or of a quality that cannot capture voice as well as sound. Love the place, the acts and the service. Just need better sound quality when seats are not in the main listening room.
Ally Venable was terrific; but Jimmy's Jazz's and Blue's was so-so..
Finally got to see Ally Venable at Songbirds in Chattanooga, Tn on May 2,2025..!!! Ally’s guitar playing is not only Amazing….she’s a Blazing and Ferocious guitar player and really shows it playing Blues and ripping’ rock & roll riffs..!!! Her boice is a powerhouse..!!! The drummer and bass player were exceptional as well..!! The 3 piece band really rocked it..!!! Also got to meet Ally before and after the show and she was so kind and a really Dow to earth young lady..!!! I’m a fan for life..!!! “What a show..!!” Highly recommend to see Ally live..!!! She’s incredible and has so much talent and k knows the blues and shows it..!!! One of the greatest shows I’ve been to in a long time..!!!
I was very impressed. Ally put on an entertaining show. She’s a really great guitar player.
I truly enjoyed this performance! This young lady is a powerhouse and a complete entertainer! She can play that guitar and sing like nobody’s business! I’m gonna continue to follow her!
What a great show at the Legendary Antone’s in Austin. Took the audience on a ride through some Rockin & Roll into some South Texas Blues .
