About

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.

    Experience w/ The Boss

by Bec on 4/23/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

I’ll be 100% honest.. the line and process to get into the building was CRAZY and long but I loved the whole experience, it just made it all the better. Bruce and the E Street Band did f’n AMAZING and I will probably never see anything like it again. The age that he is and he still plays and LOOKS that great blows my mind. I pray to Christ that I look that good at that age, god bless his genes.

Once in a life time experience, but too short

by Mary on 4/23/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

This was an awesome experience. Non stop music and conversations with the audience. Springsteen is the Ultimate performer!!!!! My only disappointment is that Syracuse's JMA Dome concert on the 18th of April was under 3hrs ...2 and a half where as Clombus Ohio' s concert was OVER 3 hrs. If Syracuse had the extra time we could have heard Rosalita Born in the USA or others. It was an opportunity of a life time. But learning that other venues got more time is disappointing. MCMR

by Grandev on 4/23/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

Enjoyed every minute of the show, non stop over 2 hrs and 40 minutes. Looked great and sounded great. Wasn’t a fan of Syracuse dome , dissatisfied with entrance (purses we not allowed if sized bigger than a wallet lol) so walked outside around to lock up, charged and after show went back to pick up , caused a mess time and effort wise

    Fantastic Show

by Jim on 4/22/24MVP Arena - Albany

It's Bruce Springsteen what can I say! If you haven't seen him you really should. Bruce has an awesome catalog of great tunes to choose from and with his legendary E Street band he always puts on one of the very best 3 hour rock n' roll shows you can possibly experience. It's well worth the memory!

    Amazing Show

by Susan on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band put on an amazing performance at JMA Wireless Arena in Syracuse on April 18. The music was flawless and the experience in the arena was a great one. The traffic situation and shuttle busing to and from was not pleasant-the whole process took over an hour in both directions.

    Sound was terrible

by HemiDad on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

We were seated up a ways. We could hear the music fine. Bruce sounded like he was under water. I couldn’t make out many words. Even when he was speaking it sounded horrible.

First Springsteen concert at 56, also first show at the dome. I have seen a lot of concerts in my days and this was one of the best. Non stop for 3 hours. Incredible band. Would highly recommend if like me you had never seen them, then you need to.

    The Gospel According to Bruce

by 80’s Baby on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

Bruce Springsteen is an evangelist, preaching generosity, gratitude, and nostalgia. At age 74, his unrelenting energy, song after song for nearly three hours, is godlike. His special connection to Jake, Clarence Clemons’ nephew, appears to be that of a godfather. And Springsteen showers praise on his extensive and talented band members, deflecting attention from himself. It’s no wonder the crowd raised their arms and wiggled their fingers in rapture. At worst, the concert was an old sweet trip down Thunder Road. At best, it was a religious experience. The venue, the JMA Dome at Syracuse, moved the crowd efficiently and provided convenient restrooms/tshirts/bar access on the floor. However, there’s one major drawback. The acoustics for an 18-piece rock band don’t work in this space The vocals got lost in the vast bubble and the instrumentation sounded tinny against the metal seats. At times, it was difficult to tell which world famous, chart topping song was being played. I would like to hear the Gospel of Bruce again, but next time in an amphitheater under the stars.

    Bruce great! Venue sucks!

by Jim Bobb on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

Bruce and band were great! Missed a few songs I would have liked to hear but played some I didn’t expect. Acoustics in JMA some are atrocious! No better now than when I saw the Stones there on Steel Wheels tour. You would think they would’ve addressed that when they replaced the roof. Also why would you put a 50,000 seat dome in an area with so little adjacent parking and poor access roads. I’ve gotten out of so many comparable venues and on the road so much quicker. For how stretched out the SU campus is they should’ve built it up on Skytop…plenty of room

    Had a great time!

by KSH on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

At the ripe age of 60, I have to say that Bruce already has more energy than I do at the age of 74. Wow, non stop fantastic music! We had a great time! Only complaint is that the sound at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse wasn't great with feedback and what seemed to be an echo throughout the concert.

Still rocks like no one else

by Katmil on 4/22/24JMA Wireless Dome - Syracuse

Springsteen still delivers at age 74, even after a postponement for health reasons. He and the entire band displayed lots of energy and heart throughout the concert. His connection with the fans in the pit was as strong as I’ve ever seen. Yes, the music was loud and the acoustics in the Dome were not great, but it was rock music, not acoustic. The parking, shuttles, and entry procedure were all smooth. It would be great to see some healthy food options, especially since no outside food can be brought in. But the concert was well worth th price I paid for it, and I’d see him again in a heartbeat.
