About

Over the course of crafting a 29-album catalog and architecting 40 Billboard #1 singles as a keyboardist, songwriter and producer, Brian Culbertson has charted his own unique course in music. Label him jazz and he makes a funk record. Call him an R&B artist and he drops an acoustic jazz trio collection. And you'd be hard pressed to name another instrumentalist of his ilk who can mount an elaborately designed concert production that will keep him on the road for three consecutive months.

Culbertson burst onto the scene in 1994 with a chart-topping album that he recorded in his college apartment featuring keyboard-led contemporary jazz tracks. Flash forward to present day, Culbertson has been going back and listening more and more to music that inspired him as a young musician such as David Sanborn, The Brecker Bros, Chick Corea, Al Jarreau, Pat Metheny & others in the jazz fusion world.

Whether you're listening to music from "Day Trip" on record or live in concert, you're hearing an eclectic, entertaining and engaging set from an artist at the peak of his power.

  • Good performance by Culbertson.

by abr on 11/1/25Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The sound and acoustics need to be much better in symphony hall for a much better experience of jazz music. It all seemed to be a mashup of different sounds, could not clearly hear all of the different instruments.

  • OUTSTANDING

by Teddy on 11/1/25Atlanta Symphony Hall - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show has a new format and its just outstanding. Its much better than before and befor was bad to the BONE...... But..... This year I was able to see Brian 3 times; Seabreeze in Panama City Beach, Florida, Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, Mableton, Georgia, and finally Atlanta Symphony Hall, Atlanta, Ga. Next year it looks like I will only be able to see Brian 2 times, Mable House and Atlanta Symphony. He will be GREATLY missed at Seabreeze!!!!!!!

by Valerie on 10/31/25The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Brian and the entire band was on FIRE! This is my 6th show and this one was by far the best yet! I don't know how he does it! Loved his new shoes too! Patches Stewart was amazing, always love his horn solos! You guys brought it plus some! I have seen over 157 different artists and this show was in the top 4 of all time! Right up there with Teddy Pendergrass, Earth Wind and Fire, Journey (original band) and even the Stones!

by Tracy McCall on 10/31/25The Lyric Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Brian possesses a spiritual gift that he so graciously share with his followers. His energy was magnetic and contagious which inspires his audience to participate with him as he and his band play those melodious tunes for us. Brian and his musicians were the remedy to a long day in the office for me on a TUESDAY NIGHT at The Lyric.

One of the most entertaining and enjoyable concerts that I have ever attended. The Sax and Trumpet musicians that Brian assembled in his group had unmatchable skills. Thanks Brian for sharing your talents with my wife and I in her birthday evening. Look forward to seeing you again!!!

  • Fantastic Concert!! Brian

by j4 on 10/30/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

My wife and I had been listening to The Day Trip album release prior to attending the show. Actually I did not really expect to hear many of the new songs live because I did not think that the "Superstar"musicians featured on the new release would be touring with Brian. Well, they didn't need to be present because Brian's band did a wonderful job and much to my satisfaction. There were not any mistakes what-so-ever. The Charleston Music Hall has great Acoustics and the settings were right on "T". There was maybe 10 or less seats shy of a sellout and I even had thoughts of sponsoring a couple just to have them witness this man's skills on his piano and trombone. The guy is phenomenal to watch and hear. The Charleston Music Hall is adjacent to the parking garage and only a very short walk to being checked-in and seated. Kudos to Brian and his Band!!!!!!

  • Brian Culbertson in Charleston = Fantastic

by Michael D on 10/29/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Saw Brian Culbertson at the Charleston Music Hall, Sunday October 26th and was a fantastic night of entertainment and music by Brian and his ensemble. They played non stop for 2 hours and we left wanting to hear more. I would definitely see him again and will be listening to him at home. If you have the opportunity go see him!

  • Awesome and energetic

by Sundaejazz on 10/29/25The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time. There was so much energy on that stage and it radiated out into the audience. It wasn’t what I expected at all. I thought Brian would be sitting at a piano playing his beautiful music. It wasn’t like that at all. He was all over the stage. And he played his trombone several times with the horns. It was an awesome performance. If you get a chance to see him, run to get tickets. It’s worth every penny. We can’t wait to experience his show again!
