  • Very original and so funny!

by GeneD on 6/9/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed the opening of "Battle of the Improv All-Stars"on June 6th. The program was fast paced and covered a lot of territory in the space of two hours. The emcee kept the pace going and helped set up each challenge for the four improv actors. We enjoyed the originality of the four actors. And appreciated the lack of current events dominating the news cycle. Made for an enjoyable evening being able to laugh and appreciate the talents of the four contestants. We may go again during the run of show.

  • Absolutely Hilarious!

by David G on 6/2/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time here and as soon as I walked in I thought of Second City Chicago. Then after seeing this hilarious show, I thought once thought the same thing! Absolutely brilliant!

  • Always hilarious

by Michelle on 5/20/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I've been going to BNW shows for 25 years, and they always put on a great show with original music and skits. Very topical and pointed; don't be afraid to open your mind to new ideas!

  • Brave New Workshop - always leaves you wanting s'more

by Chris on 5/12/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I love going to see this group...I think my wife and I have now seen them now five or six times. They never disappoint. They have a particular kind of humor that is classic improv comedy mixed with a bit of pop culture (or in this case political) and some kind of social motivation behind their shows. But it's always hilarious!! Maybe that's not for some, but we LOVE IT. They are BOLD and WITTY, slapstick, offensive, comical, cheeky, dirty and always SMART. And sometimes...I think they even surprise themselves with what comes out of their mouths! But that means the crowd will be roaring even louder at how hilarious it is. I can't wait to see them again!

  • Just what we need to get through

by NeeJo on 5/7/25Rating: 5 out of 5

This show was incredibly relevant to our world today and the humor is just what we need to get through! Our entire group laughed a lot even with political differences. At one point, I laughed so hard I was brought to tears. Go see this show!

  • I needed to LAUGH hard and I DID!!!

by Shan on 4/22/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the show The World is Burning so I Made Smores. There were 2 new cast members and I was impressed with both. The rest of the cast smashed it, per usual. Lauren Anderson is a Twin Cities/Minnesota treasure. We are unbelievably lucky to have her. The show was fantastic. I laughed and laughed and came away with a great new word (no spoilers here!).

  • As good as ever!

by Dustin on 4/4/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

With satirical comedy, it can be hit and miss. Some of the recent shows haven’t been quite as absolute genius as others, but this show was BNW at its best. The cast, the skits, all top notch!! The world is definitely burning and they made some amazing s’mores!!

  • You can't not be affected by these performances

by Such energy! on 3/11/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

The best live show I've seen in years! The writing, the acting, the energy are all worth seeing live! Row A doesn't disappoint.

  • BCE

by Amanda W on 1/7/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was our second time seeing the Big Christmas Energy and we LOVED it! They did a wonderful job keeping us laughing the entire time! We loved the improvised ending they did. It was a twist on the original and it was fun to see them combing up with things from the crowds ideas. It was a full house and it was so worth seeing a second time! We loved it so much the first time that we bought tickets again as a Christmas present for a friend. They enjoyed it just as much as we did!

  • Disappointed at best.

by I like to laugh on 1/7/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

They started the show by announcing that they were going to do their best to offend. They succeeded! I am far from a politically correct person! 1. It is satire and I know that no subject is off-limits., That’s OK. But their attempt to ridicule anybody that has any kind of faith was not OK. 2. It became very obvious very quickly that they were there strictly to promote their far left agenda. ( and I am far from right wing.) 3. They also made it extremely clear that we still need to be apologizing for everything we do in the state of Minnesota. I went to be entertained, wanted a night of laughter, the most I got was a couple of chuckles. – I’ve been coming to the brave new workshop since 1977, this was the worst show I’ve ever seen there.

  • So hilarious

by Abi on 1/3/25Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was so hilarious. I will definitely be going again. So tailored to the Minnesotan audience. I loved every minute of it.

  • Entertaining

by Blondie on 12/26/24Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

A too much sexual content and use of thr "f"word. Otherwise the jokes were funny.

  • Brave New Workshop Big Christmas Energy

by Holly Jolly on 12/10/24Dudley Riggs Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

I thought the performance started out a bit slow and wasn’t all that funny at first but definitely improved as the night went on. Overall it was pretty good. The theater itself was fine although uncomfortably hot with no air movement at all. I think the majority of the audience felt the same as I heard many people mention how hot it was in there.
