BRANDON FLOWERS IN CONCERT:

Whether he's fronting The Killers or getting fans dancing with his synthpop-heavy solo work, Brandon Flowers is a consummate showman renowned for his powerful voice and flawless performances. Even though he packs the arena with tons of glitz, glam, and stunning visual effects, Flowers still forms a sincere connection with his fans on standouts like “Can’t Deny My Love” and “Crossfire” before indulging them with his countless hits from The Killers' catalog. Ticket buyers can’t help but swoon to his confident stage presence as he smoothly navigates the unique twists and turns of his dynamic setlist. With his album The Desired Effect still burning up the charts, Brandon Flowers is touring to bring his dance-worthy live show to cities across North America in 2015.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The youngest of six children, Brandon Flowers was born in Henderson, NV in 1981. After moving to Las Vegas he answered an ad posted by guitarist Dave Keuning in 2001, and they formed The Killers soon after. The group's 2004 debut Hot Fuss spawned a string of massive hits including “All These Things That I’ve Done”, “Smile Like You Mean It”, and “Mr. Brightside”, and was eventually named one of the "100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time" by Rolling Stone. International success and critical acclaim followed the band in the ensuing decade with hit albums like Sam’s Town (2006) and Day & Age (2008). Flowers made his solo debut in 2010 with the album Flamingo, which premiered at no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart behind the success of powerhouse single “Crossfire”.  Flamingo proved that Flowers had more than enough material to spread between projects, especially when The Killers returned in 2012 with the hit album Battle Born. His sophomore solo effort The Desired Effect arrived in 2015, once again reaching the top spot in the UK. Brandon Flowers’ live shows continue to reach new heights of sophistication and sheen, even as he maintains an intimate connection with his fans thanks to his passionate and powerful songs.

The show was amazing!Brandon Flowers has enough energy to play all night..his vocals were great ,he put on a true rock star show and played to everyone in that crowd! He played every song off of his solo album and even put a twist on some Killers classics.I never wanted it to end...but I can't wait to see the Killers come back and see them all together.

Brandon's vocals were amazing and he really grabbed the attention of the crowd! The entire show was stunning and I would absolutely recommend it to a friend or go see it again if I had the chance! He's a good showman and you can really tell. My friends and I are in The Killer's fanclub called the Victims and we had only known eachother online but decided to finally meet at this show in Toronto! Good times were had by all, even during the 4-hour wait outside the venue! Easily one of the best nights of my life and I'll never forget it!

Was going to New York for a girlie break and shoppping and saw that Brandon was in concert whilst we were there. Having been unable to get tickets to see him in the UK thought we would give it a go.. Got tickets no problems and the concert was fantastic and all the better for being in a small intimate venue. Like I said, well worth the journey!!

  • Great show!

Thursday night's Brandon show was great. He was on fire and he had the audience in the palm of his hands: Having seen his show in August at the Highline Ballroom, it was great to see how his solo show has evolved. Obviously, more people, including myself, were familiar with the material he was performing as Flamingo wasn't out in August. He had a larger stage to work with and he worked every inch of the stage. The band was playing very tight and the lighting was subtle and very polished. But most of all Brandon came on with loads of energy and then fed off the crowd's energy. Also in August, he didn't perform two Flamingo songs, but tonight I got to hear them live--Only the Young and Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas. I saw fans range in age from 6 or 7 years old to about 70. I'm impressed that Brandon appeals to such wide age spectrum. All the songs from Flamingo were played, along with Bette Davis Eyes, and 3 Killers songs--Losing Touch (rearranged), a verse and chorus of Read My Mind (my favorite Killers song) on just a small keyboard to open the encore set, and closing with the remix of Mr. Brightside which made everyone leave happy. At the end of the show, the exit music on the soundsystem was Here Comes the Sun by The Beatles. First time I ever left a show with a lot of fans singing along to the exit music. Also, I'm impressed with how the set list is arranged--musically, thematically and lyrically, all of the songs tie into one another in some form or fashion. You can tell a lot of thought has been invested in terms of what order the songs are presented, we are taken on a musical journed at these Flamingo shows and having Here Comes the Sun as the exit music is the perfect touch as it ties in to Only the Young ("and the sun will shine again"). Some of my favorite moments: Fans bouncing a large inflatable pair of dice around the audience during the performance of "Jilted Lovers and Broken Hearts". Brandon exhorting the audience to sing the "oh-oh-ohs" on "Magdalena". The humor he brought to his performance Was It Something That I Said, which finally got me to really like the song. (Love the little line the background singers got to do), and the intensity he brought to "Playing with Fire"--it's truly an epic song in a live setting. He just keeps getting better as a singer and performer with each show I've seen him, with or without the Killers. However, he didn't do the new Xmas song "Boots", but that's OK. Opening act Transfer was tolerable--I liked their first and last songs, but the rest of the set was meh.

Amazing solo show, songs from his solo disc and a few Killers covers. The Stone Pony is a great venue, very intimate and sound is good.

  • Brandon Rocked the House!

by Kimmykb on 12/6/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't have the best seat but Brandon made the concert worthwhile anyway. As always, Flowers is a great performer and this show was no exception. My only gripe is the delay between when the opening act ended and when he started - too long. Other than that, it was truly amazing and I'd do it again.

  • Brandon Flowers: an Excellent Solo Act.

by TinaMarie131 on 12/6/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Brandon Flowers at the Hammerstein Ballroom was an amazing show. I've seen The Killers twice before and he vocally sounded better at this show. I'm a huge Killers fan and was a little leary about going to this show because I didn't really like the Flamingo album. After hearing him sing it live, Flamingo is the only album I've been listening to. Brandon Flowers is an excellent solo artist, but I can't wait for the next Killers album and tour.

  • This is the real Brandon Flower

Show was pure awesome. You can not appreciate this music if you've only heard the album. The energy of the show was amazing.

  • Brandon Killed it--Even Without the Killers!

by CMGBella on 12/6/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I am a huge Killers fan...have been to 6 shows. I was a little nervous before the concert since I'm not crazy about his solo album Flamingo. However, Brandon was able to captivate the audience and turned even the mediocre songs into amazing hits when heard live. He has amazing stage presence. My favorite part was that he weaved in a few Killers songs to the set....the fans went crazy!

  • Brandon Flowers - could of/should of been better

by Herald on 12/6/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

Bottom line - he was on stage for too short a time. I don't mind waiting for a concert to begin, and I don't mind if an opening act takes more time than it should. I don't mind any of this as long as the featured performer kicks ass. I was expecting a lot from Brandon, but he simply didn't deliver. He was on stage for about an hour. The songs he did were great, but it all seemed to end just when he should have been rolling into high gear. To clarify my expectations - I wasn't expecting him to pull a Bruce and go for 3 1/2 hours but is asking for 1 1/2 to 2 hours asking for too much? Interestingly enough, the audience didn't seem to mind, and sort of meekly made for the exits.

  • BFlow brought the house down!

by Frizzy on 12/6/10Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

General Admission can be tough, but there are only a few people that make standing in one place for 5 hours worth, it. Brandon Flowers was one of them. Having seen the Killers, I know what a showman he is, and he did not disappoint his fans. The set was short, but he added in 2 Killers songs, to the squeals of his fans, bringing the house down with Mr. Brightside. I think NYC gave him quite a welcome. The ONLY downside was the the jam-packed 1/2 hour it took at the highly unorganized Hammertein coat-check, complete with screaming security, making you rethink if you wanted your coat back or not.

You can feel your heart pulsating as the music blasts from the speakers on the stage. Beautifully covered all the songs on his debut solo album. Nice atmosphere but long wait.

great show! cant wait to see the killers at some point,,,,i really enjoyed the new solo album alot. favorite moment was the monologue and performance of las vegas,,,,when i was in vegas in october, i found the sign that's on the cover of the album, its down in the old seedier section of town, a very interesting contrast to the glitzy strip i find. anyway, all in all a very good show,,,,i found it a bit weird that the crowd didnt seem to demand an encore, they sort of expected it? me personally, i enjoyed the encore, did a few killer songs, a nice way to close,,,,,

  • Amazing Show!
