BRANDON FLOWERS IN CONCERT:

Whether he's fronting The Killers or getting fans dancing with his synthpop-heavy solo work, Brandon Flowers is a consummate showman renowned for his powerful voice and flawless performances. Even though he packs the arena with tons of glitz, glam, and stunning visual effects, Flowers still forms a sincere connection with his fans on standouts like “Can’t Deny My Love” and “Crossfire” before indulging them with his countless hits from The Killers' catalog. Ticket buyers can’t help but swoon to his confident stage presence as he smoothly navigates the unique twists and turns of his dynamic setlist. With his album The Desired Effect still burning up the charts, Brandon Flowers is touring to bring his dance-worthy live show to cities across North America in 2015.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

The youngest of six children, Brandon Flowers was born in Henderson, NV in 1981. After moving to Las Vegas he answered an ad posted by guitarist Dave Keuning in 2001, and they formed The Killers soon after. The group's 2004 debut Hot Fuss spawned a string of massive hits including “All These Things That I’ve Done”, “Smile Like You Mean It”, and “Mr. Brightside”, and was eventually named one of the "100 Greatest Debut Albums of All Time" by Rolling Stone. International success and critical acclaim followed the band in the ensuing decade with hit albums like Sam’s Town (2006) and Day & Age (2008). Flowers made his solo debut in 2010 with the album Flamingo, which premiered at no. 1 on the UK Albums Chart behind the success of powerhouse single “Crossfire”.  Flamingo proved that Flowers had more than enough material to spread between projects, especially when The Killers returned in 2012 with the hit album Battle Born. His sophomore solo effort The Desired Effect arrived in 2015, once again reaching the top spot in the UK. Brandon Flowers’ live shows continue to reach new heights of sophistication and sheen, even as he maintains an intimate connection with his fans thanks to his passionate and powerful songs.

brandon put on a great show even solo. he had a lot of energy and because the venue was small it was an intimate show. there wasnt a bad seat in the house. fran healy also was great!!

  • lousy sound/ to loud !!!

by MCYNP on 11/14/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

excuse me !!! I think I bought a ticket to hear Brandon Flowers amazing voice & NOT some back up band. I was standing in front of the sound board & the guy must be deaf. It took all my will power to not tell the guy off. Does Brandon want his vocals buried in a wall of noise ??? Also does he use spray on tan ?? what's up ?? fortunatly the sound got a little better as the show wore on & I finally enjoyed it a bit. I love the new solo c/d, but found the live show sadly lacking. Bring on the Killers !!!!

Brandon may not write the greatest songs in the world, but there is no denying his outstanding performance ability.

Love the Killers. Thought flamingo was ok. The concert however rocked! Would see him again in a heartbeat.

  • Awesome concert, but a little short

by martinmm on 11/14/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

The settings were excellent in the Fox Theater in Oakland. Brandon Flowers did a good performance with high sound quality and good stage energy, and as an extra treat he had the lead singer from Travis (Francis Healy) on stage to perform a cover of Side. The only thing to put a finger on was the kind of short time it lasted. Would have liked a little more music for the buck :)

  • BRANDON FLOWERS -- ENJOYABLE EVEN WITHOUT!!

by gregb on 11/14/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

BRANDON FLOWERS solo effort "FLAMINGO" is a good CD. Hard to take his sound away from THE KILLERS style music / a tad different. His performance at the beautiful FOX THEATRE in Oakland (a jewel of a venue that is operated by a friendly engaging staff) was typical of his performances as the frontman for The Killers. He is a very good showman....and his vocals are terrific. Backed by six talented musicians / backup singers...he was supported adequately. I like the new CD so I enjoyed his show. So did the audience which was filled with fans of The Killers (and Brandon Flowers). I don't fully understand why Brandon did not record this CD with the other members of The Killers but that is an unrelated issue. My only complaint would be that he seemed to rush the show...song to song...and the show was VERY VERY SHORT.....about 45 minutes and then a couple encore songs. Apparently it was almost identical to an album release show at Slim's in San Francisco. I liked the show and always will go to see Brandon Flowers but personally hope he returns next time with his band, THE KILLERS.

  • Brandon Rocked it!

by MelySakura on 11/14/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I went to the show thinking it was not going to compare to the Killers performance I saw at the Oracle for the Not So Silent Night show. I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as good. The Fox Theatre it self is a great venue, small, eccentric, clean, classy. We had general admission tickets, showed up about 2 hours prior to the show, waited in line and 'reserved' a good spot. Brandon Flowers was great! The concert was full of energy, great vocals, the visual effects were nice, stage set was cool. He sang most of the songs in the Flamingo album and gave us some background about some of the songs which made it feel personal (especially due to the close proximity the small theatre allows) and ended with the alternative version of Mr. Brightside which the audience loved and went crazy for.

Great venue. Brandon is always on point live with his performances. Great energy!

  • Brandon Kills It!

by Holam on 11/13/10The Fox Theater - Pomona - PomonaRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was so fantastic. I am a devote Killers fan and Brandon brought the big guns to hold his own. There was a remarkable cover of Kim Karne's Betty Davis Eyes and he did sing a couple Killers songs which was a bonus. The opener Fran Healy was charming and not only sang his solo material, but also sang his band Travis' songs with only a guitar as his backup. Delightful and quirky!

  • Brandon Flowers was excellent

    by rawfox1 on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Show was excellent, only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that the set was only 1 hour long. Add 3 more songs and it would have been enough.

  • Brandon Rocks

by MLWing on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Strong set list. I thought the one hit wonder by Kim Carnes, "Betty Davis Eyes" Brandon sung extremely well.

  • Brandon was energetic

    by PS55 on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Brandon sounded good and was full of energy. liked the Betty Davis eyes. I was disappointed that he stopped after 1/2 hour and left the stage. They came back and sang a few more songs and ended in Mr. Brightside but it seemed too short. Wished he would have done more covers if he was unable to do Killer songs.

  • Brandon Flowers Rocks!

by ldjalfjoithohgnalkjgoihgh on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Fran Healy opened the show. Not only was his music great but he was also entertaining with his humor. The venue was totally awesome, the Fox Theater did an outstanding job remodelling and it wasn't too croweded or hot. Brandon Flowers was great!!! I would see him again in a heartbeat.

  • Laziest Rock Star Ever

by disarmed on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 2 out of 5

He was on stage for 50 minutes total or in other words, the opening act plus 15 minutes. He recycles his stage stories, he told us that at the show. Sound and performance was good but I felt like we were charged by the minute. =(

  • brandon and Fran made a lovely combination:)

by lolamarie on 11/13/10Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I saw the killers last year at arco arena. of course I enjoyed the show, it's the killers. maybe this show was more enjoyable for me because it was at a smaller venue or perhaps the opener. Fran Healy was just as a delight to see as Brandon. such a great night:)

  • Master Performer!
