About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

they were so amazing i cant even believe it

    by emma567 on 7/12/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

i was so glad i got to ge see this. the openin acts were great and boys like girls... i dont even have the words. it was mind blowing and i hope i get to experience it again. the fact that the venue was a smaller club made it so much better because you could actually see the bands no matter where you stood

The whole concert was super funn!! Boys like Girls were definitely the best out of them all. If i went again though, I would make sure I had a backround of all of the bands so I could sing along more.

Boys Like Girls at Station 4? YES!

by musicaholic on 7/12/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

I loved the Boys Like Girls show! The lights were really fun, and being in a smaller venue, though not exactly tiny, made it all the better. What bugged me a little though is that Martin changed the melody of the song at some points, but every concert or show I've been to has done this.

Boys Like Girls=EXPLOSIVE WonderBallroom Gr8 Venue

by BLGFan on 7/9/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

Except for the annoying twenty something people that obtained early entry and didn't do what they were suposed to do for the early entry, it was so fun! I wish the bands would stop that crap, we get in line early super excited to be first or one of the first in line and then get line jumped by these early entries, it sucks! I love the Wonder Ballroom cause they don't put up barriers and you get close the the stage and the band and have a pretty personal experience all around because of it. The manager Nathan always makes worth it when we get there early. He shows his appreciation of our fan status and treats us great! People in line are always fun, especially the ones that get there early cause they are true fans!

    fun experience!

by tineo88 on 7/9/09House of Blues - Anaheim

All 3 bands were great and had so much energy! I didn't expect everyone to go so crazy for BLG but it was really fun. I got really hyped because they were so hyped! Great performers!

    Swore like sailors

by BdayGirl on 7/5/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

I sent 3 High School Girls to see this band, as they had listened to their music and had liked it. The girls really enjoyed the warm-up bands, but thought the main act was just awful. Their words were that these guys tried to act so "supercool" and to them, cursing was not cool at all. Besides, there were younger audience members and it was very inappropriate. They were very disappointed and have decided never to support the music put out by this band again. All 3 girls reached the same opinion. By the way, this was my daughter's first concert, and a birthday gift from me. Not a great first concert experience!

    Boys Like Girls rocks!

by musiclover64 on 7/5/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

The Ready Set and Nevershoutnever! were great openers they really got the crowd jumping. Boys Like Girls were even batter than the last time I saw them. Overall the music was great, but no cameras were allowed, which was a bummer.

    Best Night

by OregonGirrrl on 7/5/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

I enjoyed every minute of the show. The Ready Set, Never Shout Never, and Boys Like Girls all did an amazing job. All the band members are so chill. Martin, lead singer of Boys Like Girls, came through the crowd and took pictures and signed things right before the show started. He even let people get on stage while they were performing. It was unforgettable :)

    Two decent, one spectacularamazingcaptivating.

    by sunshine134 on 7/5/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

The fact that there were more teenieboppers (ages 10-16) than people my age didn't matter much once the music started. Until Boys Like Girls came on, I hung out near the back of the crowd, only decently satisfied with the other two bands. In comparison, they were NOTHING compared to the main attraction. If BLG hadn't performed, the night would have been easily forgettable. I was blown away. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THEIR NEXT CD! And I will MOST DEFINITELY be seeing them again live!

    BLG was amazing!

by iheartBLG on 7/5/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

Last nights's concert was amazing. The opening acts were a little on the lesser known side. I had never heard The Ready Set before last night but their performance definitely wasn't bad. Nevershoutnever (Christofer Drew) also was fantastic. Boys Like Girls really connected with the audience. They performed with enthusiasm and played every song I wanted to hear. :)

    AHHMAZING NIGHT.

by AliP on 7/5/09Wonder Ballroom - Portland

Oh my gosh. So, three of my favorite bangs playing in the same place on the same night, and I ACTUALLY get to be there? Yes.. :) Oh my lord, it was amazing. I went with my best friend, and I got her a pick from Boys Like Girls, and she even got picked up on stage and carried by Martin or Boys Like Girls; it was intense. And Nevershoutnever, oh lord. Christofer Drew is my IDOL. I love him so so much! And I recently discovered The Ready Set, and Jordan is AMAZING. :) I love them all! It was the best night ever, and I'll never forget it. Ever.

    SIMPLY EXTRAORDINARY!

by JelloJennifer on 7/2/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

I go to so many concerts, so I know what's a good show or not. And let me tell you, this was definitely an unforgettable show! Starting with the bright lights of The Ready Set's show and ending with the mosh pit during the Boys Like Girls performance. And everything in between was just WOW! Unbelievably the best concert they've ever had at the House of Blues here in Anaheim. Would recommend this tour to ANYONE!

Never Shout Never was the best!

by Sinai on 7/2/09House of Blues Anaheim - Anaheim

Honestly Never Shout Never was the absoluetly best band there! Christofer Drew really knows how to put on a show. He's so energetic and adorable. Boys like Girls was pretty okay but honestly they scared me because they would spit out at the crowd and spill their boogers all over the stage. One of the band members threw a water bottle out to the crowd and it hit a girl in the nose.
