About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Boys Like Girls was awesome :)

Concert was great. Small venue :) Opening acts were legit.

  • Boys Like Girls changed my music perspective.

by Jlpotter on 7/15/09The Intersection - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

I have been following and supporting Boys Like Girls since day one and I have been to every concert in Detroit and this one was the best I have ever been too. I drove to Grand Rapids from the East side and I don't usually like to travel that much to see a one night concert, but for these guys anything. I've watched them grow, and after that concert, my inspiration for music has grown so much.

  • Boys Like Girls - Even better Live

    by BriBaldwin7 on 7/15/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

Boys Like Girls alone where worth the $27. But then again, I love BLG. Now The Ready Set just added to it, they're were also really good. But personally, I didn't really like NeverShoutNever! The guy talked to much.. and he said 'Homies' and 'Cute' one too many times.. I almost thought the guy was a little on the femme side..

  • My first concert was unforgettable.

    by teddi95m on 7/14/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I think Nevershoutnever and the ready set made the show, even though boys like girls were the main people. They totally blew everyone away, and i had a blast!

  • Boys Like Girls Rocked!

    by dragonfly on 7/14/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

The Boys Like Girls/Never Shout Never concert was amazing!! I loved it and I am 36. I took my daughter and her friend and was down in the "pit" area with them dancing and singing just like I was a teen again. Both bands were awesome! It was a bit hot at the concert with all the people in the sold out crowd, but it was amazing nevertheless. I would go again tomorrow if they were here. We got to see some of the band members and get autographs after the concert which made the girls' night. Thank you, we had a great night!

  • the show was freakin AMAZING

by tdub on 7/13/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was incredible. The set was awesome. Boys Like Girls has so much energy is their performances. Go to any concert of theirs that you can! They get the crowd involved and use it to make everyone have a great time.

  • Boys Like Girls was freakin sweet

by Linkin on 7/13/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved Boys like Girls they played really well but the first 2 band didnt impress me. But It was all worth it when Boys like Girls came up. I cant wait to go c them again.

  • Boys Like Girls..most adventerous band yet

by TaylorClayton on 7/13/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

Once i saw him jump off the speaker into the crowd, it was settled. I've never seen anyone do that with my own eyes in person until then. And when they let people on stage, even better. They were one of the greatest bands i've ever seen.

  • Amazing!

by dancerchick on 7/13/09The Blue Note - ColumbiaRating: 4 out of 5

  • Nevershoutnever stole the show!!!

    by MnMPadre on 7/13/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 4 out of 5

Boys Like Girls did the standard rebellious, noisy, bad boys show. They sounded pretty good and the audience seemed to respond to them. Having said that, Nevershoutnever put on an outstanding performace. I would go a long ways out of my way to seem them again. Quirky, funny, and ridiculously talented.

  • they were so amazing i cant even believe it

    by emma567 on 7/12/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

i was so glad i got to ge see this. the openin acts were great and boys like girls... i dont even have the words. it was mind blowing and i hope i get to experience it again. the fact that the venue was a smaller club made it so much better because you could actually see the bands no matter where you stood

  • Best night ever!!

The whole concert was super funn!! Boys like Girls were definitely the best out of them all. If i went again though, I would make sure I had a backround of all of the bands so I could sing along more.

  • OMG ! best concert ever !

    by dlphh on 7/12/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

this concert was by far the best experience i have ever had ! i got to be in the very front catch guitar picks and go on stage at the end. this was a night i wil never forget !

  • Boys Like Girls at Station 4? YES!

    by musicaholic on 7/12/09Station 4 - Saint PaulRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the Boys Like Girls show! The lights were really fun, and being in a smaller venue, though not exactly tiny, made it all the better. What bugged me a little though is that Martin changed the melody of the song at some points, but every concert or show I've been to has done this.

  • Boys Like Girls=EXPLOSIVE WonderBallroom Gr8 Venue

by BLGFan on 7/9/09Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

Except for the annoying twenty something people that obtained early entry and didn't do what they were suposed to do for the early entry, it was so fun! I wish the bands would stop that crap, we get in line early super excited to be first or one of the first in line and then get line jumped by these early entries, it sucks! I love the Wonder Ballroom cause they don't put up barriers and you get close the the stage and the band and have a pretty personal experience all around because of it. The manager Nathan always makes worth it when we get there early. He shows his appreciation of our fan status and treats us great! People in line are always fun, especially the ones that get there early cause they are true fans!

  • fun experience!

    by tineo88 on 7/9/09House of Blues - AnaheimRating: 5 out of 5

All 3 bands were great and had so much energy! I didn't expect everyone to go so crazy for BLG but it was really fun. I got really hyped because they were so hyped! Great performers!

  • A. May. Zing.

by BLGrock on 7/7/09Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Oh man, best concert EVER. All 3 bands were so great!

  • Nevershoutnever should have headlined

by dglock on 7/6/09Wonder Ballroom - PortlandRating: 4 out of 5

boys like girls were terrible. they suck, horribly. nevershoutnever were amazing! christopher drew at 17 yrs old has more talent then that whole band combined.
