About

Boys Like Girls are a pop-rock band that formed in 2005. The quartet skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic singles like “The Great Escape” and “Love Drunk,” with the latter’s accompanying music video featuring High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale. Their two breakthrough singles were followed by a sweeping emo-tinged ballad featuring Taylor Swift, “Two Is Better Than One,” which helped the band’s second album (2009’s Love Drunk) land in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. In 2012, the band’s frontman Martin Johnson began writing/producing music for everyone from blink-182 to Avril Lavigne, leading to Boys Like Girls going on hiatus (reforming sporadically to tour between 2016 and 2020). In May 2023, the band released “Blood and Sugar,” the first single from their upcoming fourth album and their first new song in over a decade.

  • Fangs Up!!

by Anonymous on 11/1/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Cobra Starship was by far the best band of the night. Their lighting was great, as well as their singing. Overall they were just amazing. A Rocket to the Moon was also pretty good. The Maine was alright but I honestly don't really know their music so I can't really judge them. The last performance was by Boys Like Girls, I thought they were good but the lead singer can not sing live. Sorry if I offend any fans but it's the truth. Versaemerge was the opening act and that was the second time I have seen them they did not disappoint me with their performance once again.

COBRA STARSHIP WAS SO AMAZING!!!!! The other opening bands were awesome too. Boys like girls was a huge dissappointment. I only went to the concert to watch them and I left loving the other bands and not loving the band I went to watch. Boys like girls was off tune the whole time and the light show was the only saving grace. Also, they invited the entire crowd on stage for the final song. Anyway, back to Cobra. They were one of the best shows I have ever seen. I would definately go to another one of their concerts. The Maine and a Rocket to the Moon were good too.

well, this show was awesome as usual. of course my favorites were the maine & a rocket to the moon but boys like girls actually put on a really good show too. disco curtis & versaemerge were great also. the only problem was that there was so many people it was very hard to get a good view. other than that, sound was excellent. i love the maine ! :)

  • 5 hours of perfection

    by monbon393 on 10/29/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

this was legitimately amazing not only were the two bands i came for (boys like girls and cobra starship) absolutely amazing. this concert also introduced me to two new bands that i wont soon forget!. A rocket to the moon and the maine are amazing performers! A rocket to the moon may be one of my new favorite bands! the only thing i found a little strange was how many time the boys spit up in the air while performing.... a little gross but i guess its cool... haha All in all these bands definitely know how to put on a good show!! go see this show ITS A MUST!!

  • What an Amzing Concert!!

by DMaurice on 10/29/09Lifestyle Communities Pavilion - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

where to start? The opening acts were absolutely awesome! the venue was very nice and clean. The artists interacted very well with the audience and it was a very safe enviornment. Although there were lots of people there, people were very nice and even the event staff and security were nice :) The main event of Boys Like Girls was out of this world. so was The Maine which was the last opening act right before Boys Like Girls went on. The played songs off both of their albums and everybody was dancing. it was an amazing night and also an unforgettable one too.

Boys like Girls and Cobra were good but the 2 opening acts were not good at all.

i attended the show in los angeles at club nokia. The Maine were awesome as usual. they always put on an enjoyable show. they had the crowd going and it was a very energetic show. if you haven't seen them live, you should. the boys are truly sincerely nice. was not impressed with some of the other bands on the bill but The Maine rocked it. love thos boys. :) <3

  • BEST SHOW EVER!!!!!!!

by terrrrel on 10/28/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was by far one of the best concerts i have been too. All the bands really connected to their fans and even people who werent familiar with them just excited and going crazy!! I thought i was really incredible when martin from boys like girls let some of the audience go on stage let me just say i was one of those people and its something ill never forget... i cant wait to see them again in concert.Cobra starship did an excellent job i was in a aww when i saw them because they were really incredible..

  • by Anonymous on 10/28/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

All the bands were great, but i thought Cobra Starship could have sang more than they talked. LOVED The Maine and Boys Like Girls.

  • by Anonymous on 10/28/09CLUB NOKIA - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I've ever been to. It's a great lineup and all the performers are equally amazing. The only thing i didn't like about the venue is that they roped off the pit. But besides that it was a great show!

  • by Anonymous on 10/28/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing! the small venue definatly added to to it. It was also amazing because the bands actually sang and there wasnt the theatrics that happen at other concerts which made it more fun to be at.

  • amazing

by Beeeehey on 10/27/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

it was sooo amazing esp the last part where everyone was able to climb up on stage...too bad i was on the balcony..

  • by Anonymous on 10/27/09The Warfield - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

It got really hot in the Warfield but the concert was great. Cobra Starship was the best act by far.
