About

Active for nearly 40 years, Boston’s combination of hard progressive rock, phenomenal guitar work, and soaring vocals is still as riveting and relevant as ever.  In 2013, the acclaimed rockers dropped their sixth studio album – and first since the death of lead singer Brad Delp in 2007  – Life, Love & Hope. Delp sings on a handful of the tracks, while several other vocalists fill out the rest of the album. 2012 saw the band touring for ticket holders across the country, performing fan-favorite songs from their hit-filled back catalogue.

Boston’s self-titled debut album came out in 1976, catapulting the band to stardom with the smash singles “Long Time,” “More Than a Feeling,” and “Peace of Mind,” remaining on the Billboard charts for an astonishing 132 weeks and becoming the best-selling debut album in US history. After opening concerts for Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult, and Foghat, Boston charted its own headlining tour and became the first band to play Madison Square Garden in their New York City debut. Their second album Don’t Look Back came out in 1978 and sold over seven million copies, with its title track reaching No. 4 on the charts. Boston’s third album Third Stage came out in 1986, expanding their sound with electronic drum samples, and remained the No. 1 album for four weeks on the strength of top 20 singles “Amanda,” “Can’tcha Say” and “We’re Ready.” 1994’s platinum-selling Walk On followed, as well as 2002’s Corporate America.

    Boston Still Has the Magic

by StockMaven on 7/3/12St Augustine Amphitheatre - Anastasia Isle

Even though it was over 95 degrees at 7:30pm in an outdoor amphitheater, Boston rocked the sold out crowd for more than 2 hours. They played all the hits and many other favorites. Even the new lead singer has a striking resemblance and vocals to the late Brad Delp. My only complaint was the early exit of the merchandise booth when we were leaving the show. They were nowhere to be found. Went to the band's website and the merchandise is not current for this tour.

    COMMITTED TO FANS!

by Traveler55 on 7/3/12St Augustine Amphitheatre - Anastasia Isle

We finally got a chance to see BOSTON live and they did not disappoint!!. Through the heat and the mugginess -- so typical of summer nights here in North Florida -- the band put on a fantastic show for what appeared to be a sold out St. Augustine Amphitheatre on a beautiful (almost full) moonlit night. Their sound, their songs, their talents all came together without a hitch. They had been scheduled to pay the SAA about 3 years ago and we had tix -- but that show had to be cancelled due to a tropical storm. So glad TS Debby passed through north Florida the week before! If BOSTON comes to your area and you were ever a fan of their music, DO NOT MISS the chance to see them.

I felt like I was in college again listening to their best hits while driving home down 1-95. The whole show was amazing.

    Boston Still Has IT!!

by 2bigguy on 7/3/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Aside from the video monitors and setlist order a bit on the odd side.....Boston's music holds up to time and seeing them live reminds you of how great they were/still are. No security at front of stage was great. Audience got up close and personal photos in the midst of the show.

It was great to see Boston again!! I saw them 5 years ago at Mizner Park. This show at the Hardrock had great acoustics and light show, Tom Sholtz is a master!!! The original songs take you back to the 70's all over again!!!!!

    Boston first show

by Gaison on 7/3/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Strong 2 hour show from the start, rythmn guitar volumes could have been a little louder, but the leads were spot on., as well as the rest of the band. Well worth the ticket price.

    Boston ROCKED!

by DKDCDFLL on 7/2/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

They were amazing, and played non-stop! My sister even flew down to go to the show, as they were not playing in a city near her. She said she'd do it again in a heart beat! Well worth going. Unbelievably talented!

Boston - Hard Rock, Hollywood, FL

by schultz8 on 7/2/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

I would rate the show 7 out of 10. I saw them the last tour and they were much better on the previous tour. The first half of the show was great but then the pace slowed down. A 5 minute keyboard/synthesizer solo by Tom did not do it. The next 2 songs were songs that I did not ever remember hearing and after 1 hour and 30 minutes they left the stage and came back for the encore and played 2 more songs. Overall, I was disappointed, I was expecting 2 hours of sizzling guitars and I did not see or hear it. Hope this is not the end of the band and they realize the true fans of Boston want more. I remember raving about the band when they released the first album back in the 70's. Truly the finest first album of music any band has ever produced. Hit after hit, sizzling guitars and vocals, has to go down as one of the finest albums of all time. Concert on June 28 did not meet my Boston expectations.

    Boston rocks!

by rockin2012 on 7/2/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Kicking off their 2012 tour is amazing enough after the passing of lead singer Brad Delp, but to come out jamming with "Rock and Roll Band" then "Smokin'" sounding like the band has been playing live for years - instead of a 4 year hiatus that was not scheduled to end - and bringing the audience to a frenzy was, well, amazing! The band rocked! Most of the songs from the first three albums were covered as well as all the hits. the 2 hour show was over in a blink. It was so good we packed for Clearwater and Valdosta, Ga to see the next two shows!!

    Boston Baked

by Pillpusher11 on 7/2/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

These guys were true to form and sounded great. Tom Scholz was definitely the band MVP. Go see them it was worth it. My only complaint was too much filler jamming in between hits.

The choice of music was not great. A few of the songs were instrumentals only and I found that annoying. Should have focused more on all the music from the "Boston" album. That was a great album, but just a select few from it.

    OK show

by Batfan27 on 7/2/12Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Long time (no pun intended) Boston fan, but first time I actually saw them in person. Old favorites were great to hear, although the vocals kept it from being a perfect show. First show of the tour and it looks like they still have some tweaks to work out. Somewhat refreshing to have an old time rock concert, compared to the big production shows that seem to be the way things are done today. They just came out and rocked.
