Boston Celtics History
The Celtics are one of the most successful franchises in NBA history. They are tied with the Lakers for the most NBA Championships at 17, and hold 10 conference titles and 33 division titles. They’ve retired 25 jersey numbers — the most of any franchise in the league.
The franchise was founded in 1946 and won their first championship in the 1956–57 season, which was the start of the most dominant run by any team in NBA history. Powered by Bill Russell and coached by Red Auerbach, both of whom are now Hall of Famers, the Celtics won 11 NBA Championships in a 13-year span.
Russell won the NBA MVP Award five times in that stretch, and teammate Bob Cousy also was named league MVP once. Of their first 11 championships, seven came against the Lakers. It began a cross-country rivalry that is still one of the league’s fiercest today.
The Celtics won two more titles in the '70s and finished the decade by securing Larry Bird in the 1979 NBA Draft. That began another dominant stretch in which the Celtics went to the finals five times in seven years and won three more titles. The Celtics did not return to the finals until the 2007–08 season, when they were led by the "Big Three" of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen. They once again beat the Lakers to win their 17th championship.
The Celtics most recently advanced to the NBA Finals in 2022, but eventually lost in a competitive series to the Golden State Warriors. The team was led by current stars Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.

Boston Celtics at TD Garden
TD Garden opened in 1995 and replaced the original Boston Garden, which housed the Celtics for 49 years. In the nearly 30 years it has hosted the Celtics, TD Garden has been renovated three times: in 2006, 2009 and 2014. The latest renovations added a new HD entertainment board, a see-through shot clock and an LED lighting system to the exterior of the building.
TD Garden also houses The Sports Museum, which features memorabilia from various sports teams and events in the area, including the Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. It also features sculptures of some of the most legendary athletes in Boston's history, including Larry Bird.
The Boston Celtics’ 2023–24 regular season kicks off in October at Madison Square Garden in New York City, when the Celtics face off against the New York Knicks. The Celtics host their home opener against the Miami HEAT on October 27. The Celtics play their final game of the regular season at home against Eastern Conference opponents the Washington Wizards. Here’s a list of key games to keep an eye on:

It's been too long since the Cs were in Hartford (15 years???) and seeing Ray Allen back on a Connecticut court was great!!! Hope there are plans for more Celtic home games here!!!
Terrific seats! Never been up front at a game before. AMAZING!
About time the Celtics came to Hartford! I think they should make this a yearly event! All the fans seemed to have such a great time! Watching all the kids with all there excitment was amazing! Also all the spirit that everyone individual brang was great! If they do this again i will so be there! and in the BEST seats! GO CELTICS!
Game was setup nicely and well managed and fun. Seats were good and it was clean.
Excellent, Excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the game. Brought many memories of when I used to have Celtics' season's tickets when they used to play at the Hartford Civics Center many years ago. I was very discouraged when finding out that they wouldn't play there again. it was in the days of Robert Parrish, Larry Bird, Danny Ainge, Kevin McHale and on and on. What great games they were. If you could bring back just one game a year, it would be great for the City of Hartford, the State of Connecticut and the many numerous Celtics fans we have in this state. After all, Connecituct is a basketball fan state. It was great to see Ray Allen in the house along with Donny Marshall. The house roared when they announced Ray Allen and he spoke to the fans and everyone went nuts. Great stuff!! Glad we were able to attend.
Great game*****GREAT SEATS. I hope more Celtics games come to Hatford!
Awsome game. KG is back. Celts second team could beat starters for other teams
This was my first game ever.....and it was truly the best!!!! I enjoy every minute...they guys were great! Glad they came to Hartford, CT
very nice event - i applaud the celtics for making this happen!!
The Celtics were great to watch during pre-season. The starting line up was as expected. The match up was great and both teams showed showed much enthussiasim.
Our seats were awesome! It was so great to see the Celts in Hartford again! Hope they do it every year!!!
THE CELTICS WERE AWESOME!! THE WILL CALL LINE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT HALF AN HOUR TO GET YOUR TICKETS.
Took My Six Year Old. The Place was Great. They handled the crowd well. Ticket prices were reasonable. Parking was no problem. And the Celtics Won! What's Better Than That! I was really surprised and pleased to see the "Real" starters play in the game. A lot of times you think they won't play "The big Names" Pre-Season, because they don't want them to get hurt in a game that doesn't really matter. But there they were Rondo, KG, Allen, Pierce, Perkins. That kicks A _ _ ! I just wish the Celtics came to Hartford More! Honestly though, The one off moment... The Half-Time Show. Sorry Weak! Sometimes Honesty hurts.
The event was well-organized including parking, concessions, and security. The Celtics and Toronto played at relatively high level for exhibition season and the crowd was into it.
My son and I really enjoyed the Celtics game. The seating was great and we had a great time.
great time...kids loved it....need the Celtics to play again in Hartford
First time i come in USA, first time i see a real NBA match : that was awesome ! i was really impressed by Garnett's play ! Just sorry not to have beers after the second half of the match.
Since it was a pre-season game, most of the attendees were serious fans. This made for a much more enjoyable event.
Excellent!!!! This was my first live basketball game and I hope to definitely do it again.
