Boston Bruins History
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL. They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.
After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.
On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.
Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.
After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

Had a great time! Jim Plunkett kept the crowd singing all night & even met a few Bruins Alumni. I highly recommend this event for next year!
Overall the cruise was good. Jim Plunkett was great. However, it was advertised that there would be members of the Bruins on the cruise and that was not so. That was a big disappointment!
I wasn't going to mention it, because really, what's the point? However, you've asked, so I'm answering. While we had a great time with our friends listening to music and being out on the water, we could have done so much closer to home with not as much of a let down. When an organization advertises such an event that boasts an evening with "players, alumni, and management", it should be just that. This particular event had only 1 "featured" former player that many of us had never heard of. All the hype about this night led to huge disappointment by not only our small group of hopefuls, but to many, many other passengers as well. It was a benefit for a great cause, but next time, we'll just donate on our own time and party someplace with less hype and not as many broken promises.
Amazing fun event for a great cause. Good music, good friends, good weather, and the Boston Bruins, can anyone really ask for more!
I thought the cruise was great and Jim Plunkett was unbelievable. I was disappointed however, that no current Bruins were on board. It was definitely worth the price of admission and it the money couldn't go to a better cause.
We had a fun night but didn't not see any Bruins players, whether they were not mingling or there was just no one there I would have recognized (I have been watching the Bruins since I was born). The drinks are a bit expensive, I had assumed that food would be served as the cruise was 6-9 pm but it was not, you could buy pizza, hot dogs or snacks. I however enjoyed the cruise, listening to music, having a few drinks and all for a good cause so as long as you know what your getting into, it can be a good night.
I had the best time ever with my Dad, the game was awesome and my seats were perfect.
The Bruins highlights from previous games were excellent. The balcony seats have the best view of the game. Tim Thomas is the man! Great food, great beer.....memorable evening in Boston! Thanks!
This game, to me, was for the ages... and helped to set up one of the most important hockey games in Boston in over a decade. In a must win game, the team, as well as the crowd came through. The only disappointment was that we lost game 7. We had great seats - 5th row in the balcony behind the net. Can't wait for next year. Go B's!
This game will be up in the best ever category and certainly in the top 2-3 of the NHL for the 2008-09 season
This game was destined to be one of the epic all-time great Bruins games . . . until they LOST in OT.
Stanley Cup playoffs are the most exciting sporting event to attend! If you have never been to one it is a must go!
Even though they lost the final game of the series and were eliminated from the playoffs, it was an amazing hockey game and I would recommend these seats to any Boston sports fan.
this game was amazing out of every single playoff game i went to....went to all home games........i cannot believe it ended this way but all good things come to an end........ALL GREAT THINGS IN 2009-2010 WILL COME TO A CHAMPIONSHIP
