Boston Bruins History
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL(Opens in new tab). They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.
After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.
On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.
Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.
After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

This was my first Bruins game as well as my 11 year old nephew who has been playing hockey since the age of 3. He plays on a travel hockey team out of Dover, NH. and is back on the ice this morning. His birthday is in August and when I asked him what he wanted, he said to go to a real Bruins game as he has watched many games on TV. Even though we had to wait for the tickets to go on sale, he was willing to wait for his gift. Saturday's game, even though the Bruins lost, was the highlight of the past year for him. When we got home, his Dad ask "Well how was it?" He replied well, they lost 2-1 but it was awesome!! I guess that says it all and I have won Aunt of the year! We look forward to being able to do this again!!!!

The seats were incredible. I have been to a number of events at the building currently called the TD Garden and this was one of the most unique experiences. I wish the game had been more interesting but the seats offer a good view of 90% of the rink and the greatest view of 1/3 of it. Zdeno Chara really is a huge person and this was evident during the warm up which was directly in front of the seats.
Why the fighting?
by pureplay on 1/22/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 1 out of 5When will fighting be discouraged in professional hockey? It's such a beautiful game, only to be dirtied by fighting. I was at the Columbus game with my two boys and I cringed when the fight broke out and the crowd started cheering. What kind of message are we sending to our youth? This was the first and last game we'll attend.
Seats great, rest sucked
by WifeofBruinsFan on 1/19/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 3 out of 5The seats were really good, great view, nice section. The Bruins didn't come to play at all. Getting in and out of the Garden parking area was the worst and seems to get worse every time we go! They really need to work on a better plan when it takes more than an hour to get out of the parking garage after the game ends.
Refund
by layanegg on 1/19/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 1 out of 5Game was a joke. B's played awful. Wish that I could get a refund. Is this possible?

It was an amazing game! My boyfriend came from Sweden to visit and he is a huge Hockey fan. I surprised him with Premium seats to the Bruins vs Rangers game and he was thrilled! We met many Canadians, an Irish and a few Americans. It was definitely an experience to remember ;)

by SWAATER on 1/8/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 2 out of 5For a casual fan it is not worth the money, but I'm sure you have heard it before.
Bruins-lose but great time had.
by TG666 on 1/8/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Game started with a bang, Bruins take early lead 2-0. Savard hurt early disappointing. Blackhawks answer with four unanswered goals. Lucic's play wasn't his best. Seats were ok could see most of the rink. Looking forward to next game. Always enjoyable.

Nice Stadium, but no atmosphere
by Germanviewer on 1/4/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 3 out of 5When you are in Boston for the first time, you have to watch the Bruins in TD Garden. Its a big nice Stadium, but it is very quiet. There is not really much atmosphere in it. Especially when a team is so bad like the Trashers this day(Bruins had no Problem beating them with 4:0)
B's very entertaining
by Bruin4ever on 1/3/10TD Garden - BostonRating: 5 out of 5It was an amazing event, to be at the Garden with with son!
