Boston Bruins History
Established in 1924, the Boston Bruins were the first American team to join the NHL(Opens in new tab). They won their first of six Stanley Cup championships in just their fifth season in 1929, defeating the defending champions New York Rangers. It was the first Stanley Cup championship to feature two U.S. teams. The Bruins added championships in 1939 and 1941, and between 1943 and 1958 they reached the final five more times.
After the arrival of future Hall of Famers Bobby Orr (a three-time MVP) and Phil Esposito (one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time and the first player to score 100 points in a season), the Bruins won Stanley Cup Championships in 1970 and 1972. The image of Orr flying through the air after scoring "The Goal" in overtime to defeat the St. Louis Blues in 1970 is one of the most memorable in hockey history.
On April 9, 2023, the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3, marking their 63rd win of the season and setting a new NHL record for the most single-season wins. They made history again on April 12 when they reached 133 points scored in a single season thanks to a 5-2 win over the Washington Capitals, besting the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens for the NHL team with the most points scored in a single season.
Twenty-nine straight appearances in the Playoffs followed — a record among all professional sports — including Stanley Cup Final appearances in 1974, 1977–1978, 1988, and 1990.
After a two-decade absence, the Bruins returned to the Stanley Cup Final in 2011, defeating the Vancouver Canucks in a thrilling seven-game series behind the goaltending of Tim Thomas. To date, the Bruins have made 20 appearances in the Stanley Cup Final, including most recently in 2019. Legendary players who have worn the Bruins’ jersey include Hall of Famers Cecil "Tiny" Thompson, Eddie Shore, and Aubrey "Dit" Clapper.

All I can say about this game is WOW! What a fitting return from a potential career ending injiury for Savard.
It was a great way for Savard to come back. We had fun screaming for the Bruins!
This was such a great game. I can't wait to go to the next one.
Great game! Even though it never should have gone into OT we got the win that was rightfully ours! We were on the edge of our seat the whole game! What's better then hockey in May?!
Great seats for a great game! Would absolutely go again.
Anytime you get a chance to see a NHL Playoff game, you can't turn down tickets. The Bruins put on a great production and the game was even better.
All I can really say is that the game was Awesome! The over time was so exciting and having Savard score the winning goal was really amazing! Playoff games are the BEST!
It looked like Philly didn't come to the game early on but when they tied it up and it went into overtime, WOW! The Bruins woke up and started playing again. Go B'S
Bought a $206 Club level seat for $99 (plus fees) the night before the game. This is a great deal for purchasing single seats. Sat in the third row of the section, right on the blue line. The 5-4 overtime win was incredible and the Garden was rockin'. Always a great restaurant / pub scene pregame and after a win. There is one problem with the Garden...it must have been designed by a woman that has stood in many long restroom lines. It's the only sports venue in the whole country that has longer lines for the men's room than the ladie's rooms. Restrooms are actually hard to find up in the premium seating level are about the size of a walk-in closet.
I've been to a lot of hockey games in my lifetime, but this was the best game EVER!!! This was Marc Savard's first game back from injury in nearly two months and the TD Garden crowd gave him a standing ovation for nearly 20 seconds when he took the ice for his first shift. It was like the fans were giving him a giant hug. The game was exciting with lots of hits, goals and great saves. It was edge of the seat action as the game went into overtime and the Bruins newly returned superstar, Savard, thanked the fans for their support by scoring the overtime winning goal. It was like the perfectly scripted fairytale ending!!
Awesome game! Flew up from DC for it. Will go back for another (if necessary). Go Bruins!
Best $100 and change I have ever spent. What a game!!
What a game! The intensity was nonstop and the fans were intense.
Amazing. Overtime in the first game of the playoff series! Thanks again.
No better way to win is to have savard to get the winning goal!!!! WELCOME HOME SAVARD!!
The energy of the game and the crowd was totally AMAZING!!!! Filled with excitment! When Savard came out, I thought the roof was going to cave in... Bottom line, the Bruins want it bad GO BRUINS !
Amazing seats, amazing view, amazing game, amazing day
AWESOME ... .. and they won on top of it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
